I dreamt I was at Bitter’s house. It was primary day and Bitter and his wife were upstairs and I was at the bottom of the stairs asking them if they voted yet. I don’t remember anything about the house except it had a piano in the living room.

For those who did know-there is an effort up here in Seattle to recall Mayor Katie Wilson, or some have called her-Mayor Forehead.
It started with a petition on August 11th and now goes to the King County Superior Court August 31 for review.

In Florida the Dem candidate for Governor said when asked about the Senate DSA candidate threw her under the bus and said “i reject socialism, I am a capitalist”.
But Vindman, who supposedly tried to have Trump impeached because he was to close to the “communist thug Putin”, showed his true colors and immediately endorsed the communist.
By the way, the primary vote total for Rs in FL far exceeded the Dems.
In Alaska, however, Dems got more votes. Scary.

Dr. David Morens is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 12 by U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis in Greenbelt, Maryland. Morens pleaded guilty to conspiring to defraud the U.S. government, a felony punishable by a maximum prison sentence of five years.
“By pleading guilty today, Dr. Morens has taken responsibility for what he did, and he will continue to do so,” defense attorney Tim Belevetz said in a statement after the plea hearing.
Morens is accused of using his private email account to intentionally circumvent public records laws while employed at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. The Justice Department alleges that he concealed or destroyed records of discussions related to COVID-19 research grants, including an effort to revive a controversial coronavirus grant.”

The strait is not closed. Iran can’t do that. What they can do and what they ARE doing is using the threat of attacks on shipping to increase the price of oil about $15 to $18 a barrel. They can attack just enough to give credibility to the threat. That’s their only card left to play, and they are playing it to the hilt. All designed to produce a Democratic Party takeover of Congress which nobody can argue that Democratic control of the legislative branch wouldn’t be good for Iran. In that respect, it’s certainly a leverage point in their favor. That’s where we are.
My criticism of Trump lies in the fact that he got played on the ridiculous MOU. They were NEVER serious about negotiating a settlement. It was nothing but scheme to buy breathing room for the bastards and it worked. It’s the same playbook they have played for 47 years. Trump should have known better. They got a break in the military pounding they were taking and an economic bonanza lifting of the blockade for a substantial period of time. It took the pressure off and they didn’t have to give up a thing. We got an empty promise that they’d negotiate a settlement and they didn’t even keep the promise of ending the attacks on shipping.
At least at this point Trump has finally come around to reality and the ridiculous proposition that “!ran badly wants a deal”

What the bastards running Iran DO WANT is to stay in power. That’s their goal and they couldn’t give a shit on how much the people of Iran are suffering……at least past couldn’t care less as long as the economic pain doesn’t cause the people to rise up and remove them from power. That probably doesn’t happen. They have all the guns.

Oh, and intermittent Iranian attacks on their neighbors and their oil infrastructures intimidates Kuwait, the Saudis etc from completely throwing in on the side of the USA. Don’t stop pressuring the US to “negotiate” are we will continue to hit your oil facilities. And of course, they don’t have any interest in a diplomatic solution or negotiating. The Iranians are nuts, and I’m glad Trump has finally started to grasp that fact. Please, no more lifting the pressure for empty promises, Mr President. At this point, we are past the point of bombing. That doesn’t work. and we’ve hit just about every military target we could have hit. Economic pressure to the max is about all we can do at this point. It will be a long road and we will have to endure the political consequences in November. Unfortunately, that is where we are.
