Was the Canadian shooter a D*ck in a Dress? I wondered because the CBC/BBC reporting described the shooter as a “woman IN A DRESS” (emphasis mine), which I thought was weird, b/c why is the attire important? Maybe that’s the new code to say “tranny” without inviting the ire of the activist crowd.
Trumps attempted cover up of the Epstein files and referring it as a Dem Hoax was a HUGE mistake. I was shocked last year in his approach. Was he worried about implicating his friends … maybe…the impact on foreign relations, I don’t know. Pam Bondi and Kash Patel look absolutely foolish and they played along with their public comments last summer and fall. Regardless the Trump Administration is losing the PR battle and according to Mitchell of Rasmussen and Baris of The Peoples Pundit the mid terms are looking catastrophic for the GOP.

Depending on when these events happened, there could be lapses of judgment.
But for example, “talking trash about Trump in 2018” means nothing, nada, zilch. At most you can say Bannon should not be associating with Epstein after his plea deal.

So lets say any one of us attends a family reunion. You talk and are photographed with numerous relatives, some that you have never even met before. You go home. You go about your life. Then two years later it comes out that one of the people at that event, a person you spoke to and was photographed with turned out to be a child molester. This does not make you a child molester or make you a suspected child molester. It means you were unknowingly photographed with one, and nothing more.

I’ve been disappointed in both Baris and the Ras-without-the-Ras guy (can’t recall his name); they’re both head in the isolationists, and prone to conspiracies of all flavors. Average people are worried about affordability, online cranks are worried about an international child sex ring populated by billionaires that, frankly, doesn’t exist. The GOP will win or lose on the economy and immigration (both closely aligned). Regardless, I don’t think the senate is in real danger, Dems net one seat in most models (NC).
One of the best explanations I saw Nixon give about Watergate (the coverup) was “it seemed like a good idea at the time”.
It’s easy now to go back and say “oh you should never have associated with Epstein” AFTER you know the depths of his depravity.
But even after the plea deal he had “served his time” so to speak, and the lenient terms could have suggested that his crimes were really not that horrible.
In my view, only people who personally abused underaged women at his properties are guilty of crimes. The rest, in varying degrees, can be accused of bad judgement.

Turns out that in the second quarter of the Super Bowl Sunday the Nielsen ratings peaked at 137.8 million viewers which is the all time most watched tv show beating last years record at the same time period. Then viewers started to tune out knowing that this Patriot team, being manhandled by Seattle, did not have Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edlenman etc… to manage a comeback.
And the halftime audience dropped about 5-6 million probably due to the alternative options available at that time.

Not sure why Vonn needed 3 surgeries. Maybe 1 is for the ACL.
When I broke my tibia and fibula, I had the initial surgery the next day. I needed another 3 months later to remove infected hardware.

Some breaks are cleaner than others.
But I asked AI the question and got this answer.
Lindsey Vonn needed three surgeries to fix a severe, complex tibia fracture (shin bone break) sustained during a violent crash at the 2026 Winter Olympics downhill race in Cortina, Italy, which involved significant bone fragmentation and soft tissue damage requiring multiple stabilization procedures. The crash happened when she caught her right arm on a gate, causing a high-speed fall, and the complex nature of the break necessitated several operations to properly repair and stabilize the leg, despite her having skied into the Games on a torn ACL in the same leg.

So according to AI, the ACL injury did not cause the crash, but perhaps it prevented her from recovering.

Paul is correct that for a woman, it CAN be expensive to get all the required paperwork needed for passports, voter ID etc.
When I was a legislator, as call her Mary Smith woman shared her experience with the costs and hassle associated with getting all the documentation. She was born in MD–lets call her Mary Smith. She got married and now was Mary Jones. She loved to NY state and lived there for 20 years, and got divorced. Then got remarried and moved to this state or that state. Then moved to WV.
Anyway, to get her documentation from her life’s paper trail did cost her several hundred dollars and a long and torturous journey through various state bureaucratic insanity for her to get all the required paperwork PROVING her last name change. It has cost her like $400 so far and she still had to spend a couple hundred more for one other state where she had been married to yet another man and had yet another last name.
Still, I think we as a country MUST have some better system regarding when people vote and showing a photo identity of who they are. Too many times in too many states there is not a required photo ID. One guy at the polling place where I worked a couple years ago had a son with the same name (a SR and a Jr) who both lived at the same address. The man (SR) had come in and voted, but the wrong voter registration name was checked off on the registration polling book. So when JR came in to vote, he was told he already voted. We straightened it out and he was also allowed to vote.
And just mailing out mail in ballots to everyone in the state silly nilly (as Oregon and some other states have done in past during CROWVID) is an absolute “swinging of the gate wide open to allow for–AND INVITE–voter fraud”.

The bank said that despite us putting up the car for collateral as well as a $20,000 CD wife and I have) and having about $250,000 in the bank in checking, savings and 5 or 6 CDs, and I would COSIGN the loan…THERE IS STILL NO GUARANTEE THAT MY SON WILL BE APPROVED FOR THE LOAN.
IF he gets approved, then the interest rate for a car loan would be about 2% higher than the CD interest rate of 3.6% they are paying me on that CD. So a total of 5.55% rate on the CZAR LOAN (if approved). A PERSONAL LOAN with all the same collateral would still be 14% interest rate. WOW.
Believe it or not, I went to Credit Karma to check on what my son’s credit rating is and HE HAS NO SCORE.
He has never had a credit card, never bought anything on time or with a loan (bought all of his used cars with cash) so never has had a loan payment history (good, bad or indifferent). He has for various periods of time had an apartment and paid monthly rent at those places for as long as 5 or 6 years at a time. For the last 7 years he is back living with us (good situation) and he pays us $70/week room and board as well as paying me weekly the cost of his car insurance which I pay 6 months at a time.
We have discussed the importance of him getting a credit card and paying it off every month. Just use it for gas purchases… He understands and will apply for a card.

When I was a kid starting at about 10 years old, I had my own checking account AND savings acct. Got paid $12 a week for 12 hours stocking shelves at the grocery store. I put $1.20 in the offering plate at church and Sunday school, saved $6 a week in savings, $3 in checking and the remainder covered my candy and soft drink purchases. I supplemented my income by collecting discarded pop bottles and turning them in for 2 cents each at the grocery store. My friend and I usually EACH got @ 20 to 30 cents a day doing that. That was back in the last 1950s

Also had Bible Study tonight 6 to 7 p.m. Then home for supper and help wife do things to get ready for Friday evening dinner and soiree.
Tomorrow I play bridge at 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Son will not have my car back from his night shift work until 9:30a.m. or later…
I have to go back to the bank at 9 a.m. on Thursday to give them more required info that I did not have this morning (son’s drivers lic copy, hourly wage he gets paid, phone number and SS number)so they can finalize preliminary loan application. IF approved, they could be able to cut a certified check to Hertz car sales on Thursday afternoon or Fri. and then go back down to Baltimore and buy car on Sat.
Have to get vin # to ins. Co. and pick up ins. card. and give ins. Co copy of bank loan lien.
Have to call Hertz and change title to be in names of both son AND me (because that is what the bank wants). [IF they approve the loan]
Wife has reluctantly agreed to take me there and drop me off. But she has some garden club shindig the rest of the day. FORTUNATELY, the bank is only a couple of blocks from the Holiday Inn where we play bridge, so I can walk there by 10.
Not sure how I will be getting home. Hopefully one of the other 7 people at bridge will give me a lift. Some of them go past my house to go back to their home in Charles Town.
Right now my brain is fried, and do not expect to do well at bridge.
I am happy and thankful that the temps here got into the low 40s and we have some snow melting. Finished shoveling off the deck this afternoon.

In preparing for Bible Study, I went on internet and found and watched several short videos on the subject for tonight’s Bible Study SS well s found, read and downloaded some interesting pertinent things.
One video talked of the “cultural chaos” we have today and how that is negatively impacting the church and church people. For instance, we no longer have a “live and let live”, “don’t ask don’t tell” society on everything. The LBGTQ and mentally ill TRANS goofballs and those supporting them are now demanding acceptance by the church community of their lifestyle and forcing the church to capitulate and fully accept LBGTQ-ism and trans-ism and alter the long held Christian church position on those issues that are contrary to Christian principles, traditions and beliefs. And if the church and church people do not do that, then THEY are the bad guys.
At the end of Bible Study the pastor goes around the room and asks everyone (usually 20-25 people) what prayer requests each person has. I asked for prayers for all the families in Canada involved in the school shooting there, including the family of the trans shooter.
