The Catholic Church spends billions per year on schools, hospitals, orphanages, and aid to the poor. Let’s add up what any other religious organization does. Personally, I could not care less if it sold all of its art but who is going to buy all of it? A sale would crash the art market. Also, some things are not easily sold. Do you need a 10th century stained glass window?
As for the Methodist church and other denominations, their woke policies have hurt membership. However, the Catholic Church has also lost members for its opposition to abortion, birth control, married priests, and women priests, and no gay marriage, especially with younger people. So Protestant churches decline by being woke and the Catholic Church declines by not being woke enough.

And before you say it, I have said for years that priests who assault children should be beheaded on Good Friday.
When I was a teenager, I worked in the church rectory. A priest tried to put his hand down the front of my pants. I stopped him and said to move away or I would break his nose. Then he could explain why an honor student who works in a church broke his nose. He never tried it again but treated me rudely for the rest of the time I worked there before I went to college. I never reported it or quit because I dealt with it. He was later arrested for soliciting young male prostitutes in Canada and was removed from the priesthood. He also developed Parkinson’s Disease and died. I hope he suffered.
