Former WVU baseballer and St. Louis Cardinals J.J. Wetherholt first round draft pick, hit a homer to dead center in his first at bat.

When you go to bed at 1 a.m. to 2 a.m. it is NOT fun to be awakened at 6 in the morning by the fricking smoke detector fire alarms going off and beeping when there is absolutely no smoke, no fire, no carbon monoxide issues.
NUMEROUS MORNINGS. Two different detectors.
Have replace batteries. Twice.
10 foot ceilings. Instead of dragging out the 60 pound adjustable ladder from the garage, I now use a long pole to hit the reset button.
The wife says call the volunteer fire company and give them a significant contribution and have them come and replace all 6 smoke/fire/carbon monoxide detectors in the house (we of course would but the 6 detectors).
I do not think volunteer fired department people would do that.

As far as I remember, neither I nor any of my friends ever went to jail for any “activities” while growing up. But yes, my brother and I did have to pay for damages caused when we went inside one storage building. It was not our fault. The owner had inadvertently left his set of keys in the door. And most of the damage was caused by a guy who was with us–David Shelley (“The Cat Skinner”)–who never had to pay up.

SADLY, in 4 years of little league, 4 years of high school baseball 2 years of Tri State Independent league “semi-pro” baseball 2 years of college baseball and 33 years of slow pitch softball I only hit one HOME RUN.
It was in little league. High fly ball to right field. Fielder retreating and staggering around while I race around the bags. It drops just inside the fence. By the the the ball to home plate, I have already scored. Then a few innings later, the rains came, the game was postponed and did not go into the record books. My only HR did not count.
I was proud when I got doubles, or when I played slow pitch softball when I did get a few triples.

Walt is modest.
He didn’t mention the great winning shot he made in the Aztec ball game that caused the losing team to be executed, half by decapitation and half by having their hearts extracted.
Supposedly in an interview later to the Aztec Daily Register, he famously commented on the executions by saying “losing is part of life”.

Trump can determine the winner.
The most recent polling shows a tight race between the two candidates, which suggests a Trump endorsement could make all the difference. A Change Research survey of 811 likely Texas primary voters conducted between March 17 and 19 found Paxton leading Cornyn 42 percent to 39 percent with 16 percent undecided, Newsweek reported.
The same poll found that if Trump chose Paxton, his lead would rise to 50 percent to 40 percent. However, if the president endorses Cornyn, the senator would lead Paxton 44 percent to 41 percent.”
Let’s hope he chooses Cornyn.

“I think this is an important quote that everybody should listen to right now,” Scalise said. “This is Hakeem Jeffries, and I quote, ‘We are here today to do a single job, and that should be to fund fully the Department of Homeland Security. Anything else is an abdication of our responsibility. Anything else is an act of legislative malpractice. We’re playing political games at a time when the safety and the security of the American people is being threatened.’”

The thw flower beds. A d level them and then go buy a corresponding number of 12 X 12 concrete pavers to put down for the whe 24 feet. With black plastic u derbeath of course. She suggested I drag outt the .a tissue tiller to dig up thw area.
That required uncovering it, trying to get it started since it has been dormant for 6 years, gas it up, won’t start, take things apart, trips back and forth to garage, spray starter stuff in carborator,, adjust things, get frustrated still won’t start.

AI disagrees with Bitter on Kaepernick
Declined Performance: After leading the 49ers to a Super Bowl and NFC Championship game, his performance declined significantly in his final seasons, with a combined 3-17 record in his last 20 starts.
Skill Set Limitations: Critics point to a limited passing ability, specifically an inability to read defenses and poor accuracy on touch passes, which defenses eventually figured out how to exploit.

“Following his 2017 departure from the 49ers, reports indicated Colin Kaepernick was seeking a starting quarterback opportunity and a salary in the range of $9 – $10 million.”
Kaepernick was the one who opted out of his contract with the 49’ers to become a free agent.
Did his antics play a role on how many teams would consider him, not because of his Marxist views but to avoid the controversy? Probably. But the main reason he didn’t play again was that he would not accept a back-up role/salary after a 3-17 record.

But don’t be a distraction….Mr. Kaepernick could not agree and thus no signing.

He had another chance in 2019 when the NFL arranged a tryout for him and over half a dozen teams sent reps.

She must think I like projects.”
Now why would she think that?
Maybe because you accept all of the projects and do them.
My wife knows I don’t like projects because I refuse 50% of them and ignore/procrastinate/delay/alter the other 50%.
Another good technique is to take a project on and then completely do it differently than the way she wants. Most of the time you won’t be asked to do it again.
Finally, you will never convince her that watching TV or sitting having a beer does not mean you are available for projects. So I keep my laptop near and if I sense any danger I immediately start “working” until the danger passes.
Of course, a guy with only one wife shouldn’t be giving advice to someone who has had 100k wives, but Walt evidently needs help.
