  2. Based on a thorough, detailed, and complete review of the ridiculous, poorly written, and extraordinarily anti-American decision on Tariffs issued yesterday, after MANY months of contemplation, by the United States Supreme Court, please let this statement serve to represent that I, as President of the United States of America, will be, effective immediately, raising the 10% Worldwide Tariff on Countries, many of which have been “ripping” the U.S. off for decades, without retribution (until I came along!), to the fully allowed, and legally tested, 15% level. During the next short number of months, the Trump Administration will determine and issue the new and legally permissible Tariffs, which will continue our extraordinarily successful process of Making America Great Again – GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE!!! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP

  5. Yes there are other sections of law that can be used. Trump has just started them. The sc dissenting opinions (kavanaugh) provides a good roadmap and the admin was preparing for this for months. They were not caught flat footed.

Also what else was not in the sc decision? Well the sc did not throw out the negotiated trade deals. If county x reneges, then Trump can embargo their sheot.

    Could have slept more.

Went out the afternoon to pull out greenery decorations she put in various posts in front porch pots and back on the deck.

I am in trouble and catching hell.

SHE said she told me yesterday to pull out the GREENERY out of the pots and put them in garbage bags. What I HEARD is “pull out all that sh!t I stuck in the big flower pots-and put it in a garbage bag.” To me GREENERY includes the branches of pine, cedar, red twig dogwood and stalks of winterberry.

Oh well, not the first time I caught hell…

The acknowledgment came in a court filing submitted this week in Trump’s lawsuit against the bank and its leader, Jamie Dimon. The president sued for $5 billion, alleging that his accounts were closed for political reasons, disrupting his business operations.”

For the record, I did not learn anything in kindergarten. They did not have such a thing when I was young.

I also did not learn anything in 1st grade. I started 1st grade when I was 5. Birthday is Sept. 18. It was super overcrowded so in a day ot two they moved 10 of us into second grade where we complete both all the 1st grade work AND second grade work in one year. So I started 3rd grade when 6 years old. 12th grade at age 15, and college at age 16.

Will be writing an article for tomorrow on the Tariff decision.

But IMO the “one-way ratchet” argument Gorsuch has used undermines the seriousness of the rest of his opinion.

Yes, once given away, Congressional power is hard to reclaim because of the veto and 2/3 vote necessary to override. So what? That’s the constitutional structure.

The answer isn’t for Justices to wring their hands over it, The solution is for Congress to take more care in its drafting. Or to muster the political strength to override the veto. Reclaiming g Congressional authority should be bipartisan when the issue is compelling.

  49. Gorsuch went mini lib in his opinion. This is a terrible decision, poorly written, and the dissenting opinions are more compelling.

They were single file on the shoulder, a car swerved to the left to avoid them and then the drunk tried to pass on the right, killing them.

  52. I wonder if the drunk driver was an illegal? It seems like so many truck, car accidents, murders, rapes are being committed by unvetted illegals who the press never reports on….only the protest “victims” of ICE seem to make the papers.

I am agnostic on the specific legality of using the IEEPA to justify tariffs, I can see arguments on both sides. It’s use for this purpose is certainly a “stretch”.

I don’t look gift horses in the mouth. Any ruling that is favorable to free trade, free markets and free enterprise is a good thing for America and a good thing for international commerce.

Jason, there have been numerous photo collages posted on social media picturing the mostly anonymous victims of illegal criminals – kids, women, men – countering the media’s frenzy of making the 2 protesters killed by ICE into martyrs or saints. That’s why I posed the question about the legal status of the drunk driver killing the 2 bicyclists. I don’t doubt, though, the number of legal idiots we have on the roads and other places in this country.

However, where I do believe Trump went too far was when he seem to use tariffs as a punishment for some comment from a leader he took issue with.
