  8. My son has finished his first week of working 6 hours a day for Fed EX as a forklift operator.

THE ENTIRE WEEK was spent filling out forms and watching various required work related videos. HE HAS NOT YET TOUCHED A FORKLIFT. The good news of that is that he did not have to work in the warehouse when it has been so cold during this week. He was in an office watching videos. He is champing at the bit to actually operate the forklift and actually work.

He will actually begin to operate a forklift beginning early Monday morning. On Mondays, he works a 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. shift . Other days are 4 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The videos include ones of sexual harassment, racial discrimination policies, ones on lock down procedures if there is an active shooter, another on the tornado shelter in the parking lot, HD department stuff, OSHA regulations regarding safety at work, company policies and procedures on all sorts of things…. I think he has to watch each video and then take a quiz on the content to see if he got the basics of that particular video. A[apparently LL new employees have to watch all these videos. .

BELIEVE IT OR NOT (I am NOT kidding) there was even a video regarding spotted lantern flies and what steps to take if you as an employee see some. BTW, FedEx says that MD and PA have State laws concerning transportation companies and their responsibilities and legal state requirements they need to comply with in order to stop/slow down the spread of spotted lantern flies. And I guess State penalties if you fail to do what those states say. WV does not have any extra requirements regarding spotted lantern flies.”

Son also said that as a “part time” worker (30 hours a week) he still gets full benefits, gets a $2/hour raise after every 3 months. Employees also get a bonus. The bonus they just declared from the previous 3 months was 4 1/2%/ Not sure if the bonus equals 4 1/2% of their pay, or if it is a 4 1/2% pay increase.

  9. GF,

In WV first the voter has to request a mail in ballot. Then when they return it they must provide valid signature that must match voter registration data.WV does not willy nilly mail all registered voters a mail in ballot like some states do.

Still, mail in ballots are the most prone to fraud at various stages along the way. Esp. if you were GA in 2016 and they dialed down the machine that examines the signature to require only a 10% match.

HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania — When word reached the dairy farmers gathered at the Pennsylvania Farm Show that President Donald Trump had signed the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act, cheers echoed through the cavernous 24-acre complex packed with farmers, thousands of attendees, and even a few goats, cows, and horses.

No one was more exuberant at the news than Dave Smith, executive director of the Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association, a trade group founded in the late 19th century that supports and advocates the state’s largest agricultural sector: dairy farming.Recommended Storie

Less than 10 minutes before the announcement, Smith had been telling me that getting whole milk back into schools was dairy farmers’ biggest challenge and worry. That calm composure vanished as soon as word began to spread.

“This is incredible news,” Smith said. “I, and many others, have been working on the whole milk thing for many, many years, and this is meaningful for us in the dairy industry.”

They are already unable to find applicants to fill their ranks, due in part to the city putting handcuffs on the police and not having them enforce the law and given order to stand down and not help ICE agents in any way.

I think they have had something like 1400 positions, possibly more, but that have only 900 police officers.

A double digit number of them have now put in for retirement or 3 months personal leave, depleting their numbers even more.

Add to that, 24 Minneapolis police officers have resigned and been hired to be ICE agents.

I expect that last number will probably grow as there are probably more city Police officers who really want to enforce the law and get bad people off the street and improve their community and can’t stand the current kookoo for coca puffs mayor

Just watched the trial in the movie A Time to Kill….

    **************

    Bitter,

Cash Cow wrote a book…sort of a ho hum diary of doing nothing all day except milking twice a day and eating and being bored…not anything to do between milkings…it included a chapter where a bird was bothering her while she was out in the field doing nothing.

Her first title of the book she submitted was “Time to Kill.”

But the publisher said ithe title was too close to another book title already written. And to rename it.

So she resubmitted and now called “Time to Kill A Mockingbird” sand the publisher rejected that title too.

Cow got frustrated and ate the manuscript.

If Trump feels we should have a bigger presence there and more military facilities, all he has to do is talk privately with Denmark and negotiate with them to do just that. Same thing for minerals there. Talk privately with Denmark. They own Greenland.

Trump is stupid for saying he is going to seize Greenland, etc. Denmark is part of Nato so if Russia, China or whoever tried any monkey business there the U.S. and all of NATO would be there to defend Denmark;s territory.

Can Trump convince Denmark to sell Greenland. I do not think so. Can Trump persuade Greenland to break away from Denmark and then apply to the U.S. to take them over. I do not think that would happen either.

Michael Cohen says he was coerced to testify against Trump in the Bragg and James trials in New York.

This guy is a compulsive liar, but I do believe this.

“I felt compelled and coerced to deliver what they were seeking,” Cohen wrote in a Substack post. “Letitia James and Alvin Bragg may not share the same office or political calendar, but they share the same playbook.” [….]

“From the time I first began meeting with lawyers from the Manhattan DA’s Office and the New York Attorney General’s Office in connection with their investigations of President Trump, and through the trials themselves,” Cohen wrote on his new platform, “I felt pressured and coerced to only provide information and testimony that would satisfy the government’s desire to build the cases against and secure a judgment and convictions against President Trump.”

He was a key witness in both cases. He said in the Bragg case, they only wanted “testimony from me that would enable them to convict President Trump.”

“When my testimony was insufficient for a point the prosecution sought to make, prosecutors frequently asked inappropriate leading questions to elicit answers that supported their narrative.”

For the James case, Cohen also alleged that the Empire State attorney general’s team “made clear that the testimony they wanted from me was testimony” that “would go after President Trump.”

  55. For those in PA –

DOUBLE-STANDARD JUSTICE: Authorities’ inaction on threats against Trump voters is alarming.

In America, threatening a voter with death is both unacceptable and a felony. In 2024, Pennsylvanians with Trump signs in their yards received anonymous, chilling death threat letters, a crime the Department of Justice, the FBI, the Pennsylvania State Police and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service are doing nothing about.

“We know where you live,” the menacing letters said. “You are in the database. In the dead of a cold winter’s night, this year or next and beyond, there is no knowing what may happen. Your property, your family may be impacted, your cat may get shot. And more.”

Why has no one been arrested, going on 15 months after these threats were made?

An orchestrated effort to threaten to kill Trump supporters unfortunately hasn’t seemed to matter to our appointed and elected guardians of American values. But it does matter to Americans who value our precious civil society.

History proves that threats of political violence are too often followed by actual political violence. Unfortunately, the institutions responsible for protecting civil society from political threats of violence in Pennsylvania have failed.

“Democrats Will Lose in 2028 Unless They Change Course Now” was the title of his piece. However, it was actually worse than that because he is talking about beyond 2028.

Right now, Democrats have no credible path to sustained control of the Senate and the White House. After the adjustments to the Electoral College map that look likely to come with the next census, the Democratic presidential nominee could win all states won by Kamala Harris plus the blue wall of Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and still fall short of the 270 electoral votes needed to win. Shapiro, on the other hand, is a practicing Jew who calls Hamas terrorists. While he is a flaming liberal on almost all the other issues the Dem base cares about, I think he is just “too Jewish” for the Dem primary base.

  102. Paul, even if the preacher was a full time ICE agent it still wouldn’t have justified any invasion of the church, or are you too much of an idiot to admit that?

    Like

  103. ICE agents broke into another family’s home without a warrant in Minneapolis, a blatant violation of the Fourth Amendment, and illegally detained a U.S. citizen, half-naked, in subzero temperatures.

Yesterday, ICE agents showed up at a Hmong family’s home, forced their way inside without a warrant, trashed the house, put a gun to the daughter-in-law’s head, and dragged the father out wearing only boxers, refusing to let him put on clothes, while it was -9 degrees outside.

    Then it gets worse.

He is a naturalized U.S. citizen.

ICE illegally entered his home, illegally detained him, drove him around for over an hour, interrogated and fingerprinted him, and only after realizing they had no authority to hold him, quietly dumped him back at his house like nothing happened.

    No warrant.
    No charges.
    No consequences.

    This isn’t immigration enforcement…
It’s armed home invasions, constitutional violations, and state-sanctioned kidnapping.

And if they can do this to a U.S. citizen in his own home, they can do it to you.

LEMON: Into Minneapolis a little bit ago and did some reconnaissance on the ground, speaking to an organization here that is gearing up for resistance and protest. I’ve been surprised, pleasantly surprised with the community coming together, diverse community. If you see this and you first pull up and you’re like, “Wait a minute, which operation are we at,” and as it turns out, because we’re like, “Well, this is kinda MAGA-coded, right,” so the American flag or whatever,

But these are resistance protesters that are planning an operation and we’re going to follow them on. I can’t tell you exactly what they’re doing, but it’s called Operation Pull-up, and it’s Nakema Armstrong, and she has been doing this since George Floyd, Dante Wright, and others, where they surprise people, catch them off guard, and hold them to account. And that’s what we’re doing here, and then after that, after we do this operation, you’ll see it live. These operations are surprise operations; again, I can’t tell you where we’re going.

  110. Okay, I AGREE JASON.
It sounds like an assenine and ineffective protest. The people in the church were probably anti-ICE to start. But the obnoxiousness might turn some into MAGAs.

  112. Is that letter from Trump to the Norwegian Prime Minister real or fake? If real, it is quite insane. Trump blames Norway for not giving him the Nobel prize. (Sweden is the headquarters for the Nobel prize.) And now he’s going to take Greenland by force because he didn’t get the award.

  116. Bitter: If they were willing to sell Greenland, that would be great. It doesn’t sound like they have any interest in doing so.

However, we can already put a whole bunch of bases there. (Simply open the ones that we’ve closed in the past). And Danes and Greenlanders are glad to work mineral deals. And they also have no problem with using the Greenland space for the North America dome defense. I assume we are also using Canada’s Nunavut and Northwest territories for that and don’t need to invade Canada.
