This site is an excellent tracker for Trump’s tariffs and trade wars.
If you look closely, Trump has backed down/rescinded/lowered/delayed tariffs to almost all the major trading partners AND put in a lot of “exemptions” to boot.
For example, reciprocal tariffs on China delayed until November 2026 (sure, a coincidence).
In other words, Trump realized the tariffs would be an economic disaster and was at least smart enough to start watering them down.

The additional articles listed in Annex II to Executive Order 14257 (as amended), including certain agricultural products, copper, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, lumber articles, certain critical minerals, and energy and energy products. Good news I supposed to travel in threes, but ALAS, I played bridge today….had good cards, bidding well, playing well…had 4530 points by the end of the playing. I was only 309 pts behind the top score on our table, BUT…some jackleg on the other table ended up with 5200 points.
So I finished third, out of the money.
But I still had a great time….
