The York shooting happened at a farmhouse. The woman inside said her boyfriend was stalking the house from the day before. They tried serving a warrant on him but did not find him. When she called about him being back in the cornfield. When the officers arrived, he ambushed them from the adjoining cornfield, killing three. Three other officers made it to the farmhouse where they exchanged fire with the perpetrator, two were struck but one was able to shoot him dead.
The officers killed probably didn’t expect to be shot at since they didn’t see a threat from inside the house where the woman called. They probably did not have their weapons out and weren’t able to return fire.
I suppose it was a situation difficult to predict but still I think they needed to be better prepared for a threat from outside the house.

The dismissal of Kimmel is a sign something is changing. Even though his ratings were terrible and his days were numbered. One thing that’s happening with Kimmel’s suspension is a testing of the power of the public vs the power of celebrity.
The celebrity class doesn’t care about the lies he tells. They care only about their own entrenched power and how it serves the political left. Kimmel’s suspension shows there are new limits to that power. Public sentiment has shifted against them. They no longer hold the influence they once did, and so they are panicking even though in any sensible culture, Kimmel’s outrageously insensitive and false remarks would call for consequences.

The video posted by JeffP, demonstrating disassembling a similar rifle used in the assassination, gives more credence to the mounting skepticism of what really occurred and who was actually involved in this assassination.

Today the Senate is going to group 48 Trump nominees for approval. There is another grouping of 103 who will be approved in the same manner by mid October. Finally some Republican push back to restore Senate norms in approving a current administration’s appointments.

JeffP, I don’t think the assassin disassembled/assembled the rifle in his escape. If you look at the video where he is jumping off the roof, you can see he has the full length rifle wrapped in a black towel, particularly as he hits the floor. Enlarge it and slow it down and you will see it, along with the backpack.

Earlier I had read the guy ambushed the cops from a cornfield, but evidently he was in the house.
So I go back to 4 cops at the door and a few outside all getting shot, and for that to happen they were inadequately prepared. The day before they had a report this guy was armed.
At the very least they had to have guns drawn and been very cautious entering the house.
