Also today in SCOTUS: CJ Roberts issued an Administrative Stay on Judge Ali’s order that the Trump Admin. must obligate $4.9 billion in USAID funding before Sept. 30.
This is notewothy because the Plaintiffs in that case had OPPOSED the Application for an Administrative Stay — very rare.
The Plaintiffs have until Friday to oppose the Application for a Stay itself.

Cause is not defined here, so it defaults to the presidents determination. It is clear that she committed mortgage fraud. The judge says the conduct occurred before she took office, which is not correct. The mortgage fraud is ongoing. It started, when she was Governor.
Irreparable harm does not mean she retains her job.

In just 5 minutes of reading Judge Cobb’s decision reinstating Lisa Cook as a Fed Governor I’ve already found her rather obvious error in statutory interpretation trying to find a way to hang additional meaning on the simple phrase “for cause.” She misread 2 Supreme Court cases and came to the exact wrong conclusion on what they mean. More tomorrow.
