Bitter, scroll back up to Fla’s DC Draino’s clipping explaining the helicopter and jet colliding with each other. Apparently, the female helicopters pilot did not follow directions from either her instructor co pilot or the traffic control towers, which led to the collision.

Bitter, the helicopter pilot messed up. The pilot was a woman. Her name was withheld for days because people were protecting her screw up because she was a woman. If the pilot was a man it would have been released with the occupants of the helicopter who were both men.

I was very skeptical from the start about the decision to withhold this pilot’s name.
It is highly unusual for the family of military servicemen to request that and even more unusual that the DOD would agree.
Seems obvious to me the family/DOD knew right away she f–ked up and were trying to withhold her name for political reasons.
It is extremely rare, but janzam is right about this. Her name was withheld because she was a woman.

The very first day after the accident I attacked the notion that that the family had some legitimate “right to privacy” to withhold the name of this soldier.
They didn’t.
The fact the identity of the two men was released but not of the woman is absolute proof her name was withheld for political reasons.
It was shameful then and it is shameful now.

Bitter, a lack of reading comprehension is not a good trait for a lawyer, even a local state practitioner from Philly. You have misread what I wrote. Please reprint a comment where “I made the fact that the pilot was a woman and likely a DEI hire”. She was an incompetent pilot, a woman who was alleged to be a DEI hire (from the Twitter link I posted), that was treated differently from the men, as evidenced by the fact that they withheld her name. I never said she was a woman and therefore she shouldn’t be a pilot or any words to that effect.

Bitter, I don’t know if it’s the lack of reading comprehensive, like Fla said, or if you deliberately like to provoke by twisting words of others around. Pilots, whether they are men or women, are accountable for their capability to take directives and safely fly a plane or helicopter. Why the pilot headed right into another plane, when she was informed she was not at the right altitude, and did not turn left when directed to do so, cost 70 people their lives. The reasons for this massive error should be looked into, especially the level of training this pilot had. That’s the bottom line to this discussion……

And of course, the reason there are fewer accidents with female pilots is that there are fewer female pilots.
There have been plenty of commercial aviation accidents with female pilots. In fact, accident rates for female pilots on major airlines are higher than males.
The explanation is that female pilots are generally younger and less experienced, not that they are “worse” pilots.. When you compare them to males with the same age and experience, there is not much difference.
