Actually there is a good argument for not wanting Trump to be too far ahead at the moment as it will be a huge incentive for desperation by the MSM , the lawfare brigade and the fraudsters to take action.

“Ukraine struck a major oil refinery in Moscow and other targets across Russia in one of its largest aerial barrages since the start of Russia’s invasion, expanding a campaign of drone attacks on energy facilities and further highlighting the vulnerability of strategic infrastructure deep inside Russia.
Russia’s defense ministry said on Sunday that its air defenses had intercepted or shot down more than 150 drones in 15 regions. At least one of them detonated over a major refinery in Moscow that is owned by state energy giant Gazprom, officials said, while another hit a power station in the neighboring Tver region.”
No wonder so many in Minnesota are turning to a life of crime. Most of their students are clueless dummies who can barely read. Thanks, Tim.

The Abandon Biden campaign is relaunching and “intensifying” its campaign, this time focusing its efforts against Vice President Kamala Harris in key swing states.
The campaign released a statement on X last week, announcing that it is “ramping up efforts in key swing states to rally Muslim-Americans and their allies against the Harris-Walz ticket.”
“This action is a direct response to Kamala Harris’ support for the ongoing genocide in Gaza,” the Abandon Harris campaign said in the release.”

Maduro was not on board, but this bold act of confiscating a foreign head of state’s aircraft is unusual—although, to be fair, the U.S. does not recognize Maduro as the president of Venezuela.”
The human sacrifice in the Russian/Ukraine War remains high but relatively unknown, as reporting is deliberately sketchy. Some say over 600,000 have been killed, while other estimates vary between a 1000 and 2000 casualties per day. But little is discussed here regarding these numbers. What seems to matter is who wins what skirmishes, who blows up an opponent’s power plant or oil refinery. However, no matter who ”wins” there will be unpleasant repercussions. If Russia is triumphant Ukraine will lose more territory and more people will be killed. If Ukraine unlikely pulls off a miracle, cornering Russia into a losing position, Russia may be incentivized into using its nukes. Negotiating terms for the war to end, IMO, provides the least amount of possible carnage.
But little is discussed here regarding these numbers.”

I have been talking about the huge number of Ukrainians being murdered by the Russians on a daily basis.
The problem is you support Putin and his war crimes and only care about Russian casualties, so it doesn’t matter to you how many Ukrainians are killed.
so apparently Biden is going to hit the campaign trail heavily for Komrade Kamala until Election Day. Sure. That’s exactly what the American public wants. To be reminded that Harris is the same as Biden and is associated with all his failures.

the only answer to the question is yes. This is not Ukraine’s war, it’s Russia’s aggression. Ukraine is defending itself. That’s not war mongering, it’s self defense.
Vic, you’ve said that before, about the impossibility of nukes being used by Russia. IMO, it’s more irresponsible to underestimate Russia’s capability to do so, especially if threatened by defeat because of the U.S. aiding and abetting such a loss by supplying most of Ukraine’s weaponry. on the subject solely of the use of nuclear weapons the idea that Russia is considering using them is a tool of those who don’t support Ukraine defending itself. There is absolutely no chance od Russia deploying nuclear weapons. There’s more chance of Biden re entering and winning the election than Russia using them.
your comment, “There are analysts out there, privy to reasons underlying the initiation of this war” is, well…poppycock. These alleged analysts are either Ron Paul supporting “experts” or those with an agenda who have no experience either on the ground, or in the actual prosecution of the pre-war build up.
they have no credibility, just a mutual hatred of zekynski mostly, and Ukraine.
I agree with Vic on most political issues except for the obligations we’ve taken on regarding the Russian/Ukraine War, and invariably linking Ron Paul into an underlying component of questioning our political involvement in Ukraine.
As for Bitter and Jason’s Ukrainian commentary, they are stuck on nonsense, so I’m just going to leave it there.
Jan – we do agree on more than we disagree which is why I only addressed the use of nuclear weapons. I can assure you no one at a decision making level internationally believes Russia will deploy nukes. It does not behoove Russia to do so.
I reference Ron Paul becuase it was he, and his merry band of cowards who were afraid of being drafted (no kidding…the movement began because of that…well that and the Jews) who introduced the term endless war, etc
sadly, after the Ukraine was central to Trumps impeachment, the populist movement of Trump adopted this position because of their hatred of Vindman and the Ukrainians involved
Russia won’t use nukes because there is nowhere to use them.
A battlefront 1,000 miles long is too fragmented to use nukes. And nuking Kyiv would contaminate Russia too.
It is just bluster to impress the sycophants like Janzam who can’t think on her own, so she will regurgitate Putin talking points and bleat “Ukraine has to surrender or Putin will use nukes”.
Wes is no way was prolife and would not have cared whether or not Bitter was prolife or probaby killing.
Wes was a typical RINO GOPer, by Southern standards. We had them. He had no use whatsoever for religious right Republicans.
I know you folks assumed he was the guru for NC political commentary, but he was about as correct as FOX News is discussing GOP politics nationally. He was too biased in his antipathy toward the Reagan Dems who had migrated into the GOP during the 70’s and 80’s and was easily more aligned with the Dole/Bush41 establishment side of the party in NC.
Was a decent enough fellow. Eternal rest may God grant his soul and may The Lord let perpetual light shine upon him, may his soul, through the Mercy of God rest in peace.
WV AG Morissey is well ahead in the polls in race for governor (about 60-40).
Gov. Justice is ever further ahead in the polls for U.S. Senate (about 65 -35)Justice clobbered Rep. Alex Mooney for the R nomination in May
HOWEVER, Justice has some big negatives. TRUE, that they have been out there for a while and have not hurt him in polls. He was a D when first elected governor. (Manchin had a big hand in getting him to run).
Firstly, Justice proposed a $450 MM tax increase, legislature shot it down. He went to war with the R dominated legislature –and lost. Then he switched from being a D to being an R and was reelected governor as an R.
Second, He has never been a hands on governor like Manchin was. Even refusing to live in Charleston during the legislative session. But he takes credit for all the good things the R legislature does.
Third, He is in BIG trouble financially. He bought the Greenbriar Resort out of bankruptcy and got it up and running. But he and his family own over 100 other companies, did not put them in a blind trust while he was governor. Has refused to pay contractors for work done, has refused to remit WV sales taxes that he collected, did not make payments that were deducted from his employees for health care coverage, refuses to pay tens of millions of mine safety violations (coal mines he owns).
Fourth, he–like Trump–claims all his financial issues are politically motivated, etc.
Fifth, he is not the brightest bulb in the room (like Trump). Is an opportunist (like Trump) switched parties (like Trump) still has a strong following despite all his flaws (like Trump) and does not have very strongly held and clear policy positions (like Trump). He is popular because of his folksy ways, and his prop that is with him all the time–his ugly, old and fat Englsih Bulldog (“Baby Dog”).
Lastly, he is NOT is good health. If elected, I doubt if he could fill out a 6-year term, but at least another R would be selected to replace him.
There now exists various arms or wings of the R party. Some of these wings do not like nor trust Morissey and talk is, they are planning to work against his election for governor. I still think Morissey will win.
I have never been a big fan of Big Jim Justice, but an R from WV in the U.S. Senate is better than any D.
With WV becoming deep red, we are getting some real wackjobs getting elected to the legislature simply because they are the R candidate. Lots of libertarian-ish obstructionists who would rather get nothing done, but love to throw monkey wrenches in things.
Southern food is ok. They put bacon in vegetables, always a good idea. I could never get into grits and horrible things like chicken fried steak but they sure can do a good whole pig roast in NC and the seafood in Louisiana is to die for.
“A poster that’s popping up around the city of Philadelphia alleges the Eagles have officially endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris.
The posters have been spotted on 16th and Spring Garden streets, 18th Street and JFK Boulevard, and 34th and Walnut streets in Philadelphia.
The poster shows Vice President Kamala Harris holding a football while wearing a black Philadelphia Eagles jersey and signature Eagles green helmet. The poster is captioned “Kamala official candidate of the Philadelphia Eagles” and has the URL philadelphiaeagles.com/vote printed underneath the caption”
Ukraine needs to be in a position of strength to negotiate a peace that will likely give Russia part of Donbass and Crimea but Russia leaves the rest of southern Ukraine. The war needs to continue and more weapons sent to get to that point.
The irony is that whoever put up those posters picked areas that are more business than residential. 34th and Walnut has Penn and Drexel students but many are from outside of PA and not Eagles fans. Also, Eagles don’t wear the Black Jerseys very often.

He would acknowledge it was evil, maybe using a different work, and then add “but”

One thing I admired in wes was that he never really cared about getting along with anybody.
I wish I was like that.

Southern food is ok. They put bacon in vegetables, always a good idea. I could never get into grits and horrible things like chicken fried steak but they sure can do a good whole pig roast in NC and the seafood in Louisiana is to die for.

I hope this doesn’t change Bitter’s vote…..
