If there is ONE thing Trump has been consistent on (there aren’t many) is economic isolationism/
Trump’s trade policy is based on the failed and stupid tariffs and trade wars the AFL-CIO has advocated for the last 80 years.
Tariffs are just another tax on American consumers, especially those least able to afford it. And “protectionism” to artificially reward obsolete and non-competitive industries is extremely harmful in the long run as it discourages innovation and modernization.
As far as foreign policy, I give Trump credit for the Abraham accords, the strong support for the military, the war on ISIS, the outreach to North Korea. I fault him on his self defeating approach to NATO, it is not about who funds what but instead whose interests are protected. I have given him the benefit of doubt on Ukraine, I still think he would not allow Russia to annex Ukraine on his watch.
But Michigan Guy barked up the wrong tree in listing Trump’s real and imagined accomplishments. I voted for Trump. I would vote for him again despite my criticisms of this trade and foreign policy.
My problem is Vance. His type of isolationism so ignorant and dogmatic it is just a risk I am unwilling to take. If I could be assured he would never be President, I would vote for the ticket.

Per the usual democrats have powerful, persuasive friends in the form of social media and legacy media. They can define or fictionalize events and candidates as they please. In the case of Kamala Harris, they are bending over backwards to scrub any past negative history, literally reinventing her image, stances on issues and even fundraising prowess, overnight. For instance, that initial “small donor” surge, when investigated, is a ruse – comprising small $10 donors suddenly being credited with making $100,000 donations, apparently infused by lots of money derived from unknown places and sources. This would be a breech of campaign ethics the FEC should look into, but will they?

There are so many fundamentals that are different this year. Harris has a terrible record to run on. Lara Trump and Michael Whatley got rid of McDaniel and the established GOP operatives at the RNC who had focused on contracting with other operatives for decades rather than doing more than giving an agressive GOTV effort more than a lick and a promise.

If there was no fraud in the 2024 election, if the media was less biased, if the the Intel agencies in the Biden Administration actually were law-abiding and not loyal appendages of the democrat party, I believe DJT would overwhelmingly win the presidency. It’s rich when someone innocently questions the aspect of fraud in our elections. For one thing we have dominion machines which the Dems didn’t want before the 2016 election because of fraud. Both Liz Warren and Amy Klobuchar protested having machines until they could see how it helped them with ballot counts. Various tests have shown the vulnerabilities to fraud these machines have. Over 130 countries have banned machines, and 100 countries have banned voting by mail – because of security lapses and fraud. Dems also have vehemently opposed updating and cleaning up voter registration rolls, voter ID, maintaining adequate signature verification methods, or reasonable time limits for days reserved for voting or absentee ballots to be returned. Many of these measures making elections easier to “rig” were done legislatively by the Dems months before the 2020 election. And, few have been reversed, creating a similar climate where the upcoming elections will be subject to the same kind of dem manipulations as the prior presidential suffered. Of course the media is blind, deaf and dumb to such election shenanigans.
