Btw. We are on hour 9 of our journey to get the little one to the soccer game at Yankee stadium. Up at 3 am to drive to the airport to get a non stop to jfk…and true to form for the airline industry lately the first flight id the day was delayed six hours. Raced to catch another flight through Charlotte got seats then they screwed up our tickets. Finally got to Charlotte and same thing happened again as we got on to jfk
Praying for not much traffic so we can get to the hotel, the yiung one can change to his haaland jersey and we take the 4 train to the stadium
The good news is that it allowed me to be frist (sic) lol
Oh, I agree. But the “containment” strategy guaranteed the war was only fought on South Vietnamese soil and failing to have a win strategy just allowed the media and the protesters to change public support for the war.
The US had 500k troops in Vietnam. They should have have had the South Vietnamese send 200k troops into North Vietnam with US air cover. It would have forced the NVA troops to pull out of South Vietnam to defend and leave the 500k Americans to wipe out the Vietcong.
THEN they could have made a deal with a Korea type solution and a DMZ.
TDT was very honest about the declining quality of trolls over the past few years. I guess that Build Back Better did not include Troll Training Centers.

“I saw the other day, Kamala Harris questioned my loyalty to this country. That’s the word she used, “loyalty.” And it’s an interesting word (Semper fi), loyalty. Because there is no greater sign of disloyalty to this country than what Kamala Harris has done at our southern border.
And I’d like to ask the vice president what she has done to question my loyalty to this country? I served in the United States Marine Corps. I went to Iraq for this country. I built a business for this country. And my running mate took a bullet for this country.
So my question to Kamala Harris is, “What the hell have you done to question our loyalty to the United States of America?”

on the last flight we were split up and I was next to this angry looking woman wearing a mask. so I pulled up foxnews to read on my ipad and she shook her head LOL
Good answer by Vance. I don’t question his patriotism or loyalty, I just question his isolationism as extremely dangerous for America.
I watched Hillbilly Ellegy. Vance has a compelling life story and overcame a lot of challenges to get where he is.
I wish he would educate himself more on what US interests has around the world and the importance of defending them. Unfortunately he has a very simplistic and superficial understanding of the geopolitical realities and how they affect our security and economic interests.
For that reason I can’t vote to put him in reach of the Presidency.
“For that reason I can’t vote to put him in reach of the Presidency.”
Translation: because Vance will not destroy the United States economy and finance forever wars in Ukraine and around the globe I’m taking my ball and going home. That will show him!!! 😂😂😂
Those are great ages, Vic – young enough to be curious and enthusiastic for new experiences, and old enough to remember them affectionately when they are adults.
yes. They have been through a lot and they will definitely remember these days
on another note. Can someone please explain to me what a forever war is? And exactly which ones are we involved in right now cause I don’t remember where we have large scale troop deployment
‘Can someone please explain to me what a forever war is?”
A perpetual war, endless war or forever war is a lasting state of war with no clear conditions that would lead to its conclusion. These wars are usually situations of ongoing tension that may escalate at any moment, similar to the Cold War.
Trump had a choice to make. He could have picked someone who loves wars like me but, he picked someone who cares about the United States and the economy so I will not vote for him! There I fixed it.
Zzzz…. nothing is worse for the economy than isolationism.
Hmmm as I remember you called Trump an isolationist because of his trade war with China. Let see if what you say is true or bs.
During the Trump administration, the US economy experienced a period of growth and prosperity. Some notable achievements include:
Job Creation: The economy added 7 million new jobs, exceeding government projections and reaching a low unemployment rate of 3.5%, the lowest in a half-century.
Wage Growth: Wages rose fastest for low-income and blue-collar workers, with a 16% pay increase.
Middle-Class Income: Middle-class family income increased nearly $6,000, more than five times the gains during the entire previous administration.
Poverty Reduction: Poverty rates for African Americans and Hispanic Americans reached record lows.
Homeownership: African American homeownership increased from 41.7% to 46.4%.
Small Business Optimism: Small business optimism broke a 35-year-old record in 2018.
Stock Market: The DOW closed above 20,000 for the first time in 2017 and topped 30,000 in 2020. The S&P 500 and NASDAQ repeatedly notched record highs.
Tax Cuts: The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (2017) reduced the corporate tax rate from 35% to 21% and doubled the standard deduction, making the first $24,000 earned by a married couple completely tax-free.
Regulatory Reforms: The administration eliminated 8 old regulations for every 1 new regulation adopted, reducing the direct cost of regulatory compliance by $50 billion and projected to reduce costs by an additional $50 billion in FY 2020.
Opportunity Zones: Created nearly 9,000 Opportunity Zones, where capital gains on long-term investments are taxed at zero, attracting $75 billion in funds and driving $52 billion of new investment in economically distressed communities, creating at least 500,000 new jobs.
Yep, just what I thought BS! Anyone who uses the term isolationist against Trump or Vance is obviously full of sh*t!
Secured a $400 billion increase in defense spending from NATO allies by 2024, as the number of members meeting their minimum financial obligations more than doubled Credited by Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg for strengthening NATO
Worked to reform and streamline the United Nations and reduced spending by $1.3 Billions. Allies, including Japan and the Republic of Korea, committed to increase burden-sharing
Protected our Second Amendment rights by announcing that the United States will never ratify the UN Arms Trade Treaty
Returned 56 hostages and detainees from more than 24 countries
Worked to advance a free and open Indo-Pacific region, promoting new investments and expanding American partnerships
Advanced peace through strength
Withdrew from the horrible, one-sided Iran Nuclear Deal and imposed crippling sanctions on the Iranian regime
Conducted vigorous enforcement on all sanctions to bring Iran’s oil exports to zero and deny the regime its principal source of revenue
First president to meet with a leader of North Korea and the first sitting president to cross the demilitarized zone into North Korea
Brokered economic normalization between Serbia and Kosovo, bolstering peace in the Balkans.
Signed the Hong Kong Autonomy Act and ended the United States’ preferential treatment with Hong Kong to hold China accountable for its infringement on the autonomy of Hong Kong.
Led allied efforts to defeat the Chinese Communist Party’s efforts to control the international telecommunications system.
Renewed our cherished friendship and alliance with Israel and took historic action to promote peace in the Middle East.Recognized Jerusalem as the true capital of Israel and quickly moved the American Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.
Acknowledged Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights and declared that Israeli settlements in the West Bank are not inconsistent with international law.
Brokered historic peace agreements between Israel and Arab-Muslim countries, including the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Sudan.
Brokered a deal for Kosovo to normalize ties and establish diplomatic relations with Israel.
First American president to address an assembly of leaders from more than 50 Muslim nations, reaching an agreement to fight terrorism in all its forms.
Established the Etidal Center to combat terrorism in the Middle East in conjunction with the Saudi Arabian government.
Joined together with Mexico and Canada in a successful bid to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with 60 matches to be held in the United States.
Won a bid to host the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California.
President Donald Trump signed a “historical trade deal” with China that committed China to purchase $200 billion of additional US exports before December 31, 2021.
Trump signs the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, updates the quarter-century-old NAFTA, with stronger protections for workers and the digital economy, expanded markets for American farmers and new rules to encourage auto manufacturing in North America.

LBJ was corrupt in politics and his personal life.
His “Great Society” was instrumental in creating a culture of government dependency that has been highly detrimental to minorities.
His Vietnam “containment’ policy was an abject failure.

Trump had a choice to make. He could have picked a VP that would expand his base and bring in more voters.
He instead chose one that merely reinforced his existing base.
It lost me. Maybe it gains some blue collar votes in the rust belt.
Maybe it will still work out. But in my view it put what was a winning campaign in an unnecessary risk situation.
