  2. Chicon, that’s the number that jumps out. Another way to say it is Trump’s lead in PA is three points stronger than his lead in NC.

  3. Vivek Ramaswamy would be a great replacement for Vance in Ohio if Trump/Vance win.

  4. I think Vance was a mistake. I hope Trump/Vance win. Both can be true.

  7. Phil – Vance does not add a single voter not already committed to Trump. Youngkin would have. Good to see you posting.

  8. Bitter, thanks. For some reason I’ve been locked out for the last week. It seems to be fixed now.

  9. Phil, awesome to have you back. I had worried that turning off bunu would knock you out as you had often posted anonymously. We had to turn off anonymous posting to get rid of the spammer-in-chief.

  10. Trump is leading in almost every poll taken in a swing state.

But there’s no way he can win!!! Doom!!

  13. I agree with Chicon on the previous thread that the new Republican Party is now different from the old. It draws in more workers, minorities and youth than before, creating a rich diversity of excited “patriots.” Yes, patriots, because they seem to be proud of their country, rather than discredit it, trying to transform it into a clone of globalism. As for Vance being VP, his youth gives younger voters a representative who understands their plight and concerns more than another older establishment Republican would. Furthermore, Vance’s experiences in rural America will give him more authenticity and appeal to rust belt voters than someone who hasn’t lived their life and been there. I see only an up side in Trump’s choice. Bitter droning on about he doesn’t add anything to the ticket is absurdly blind and numbingly stupid.

  15. The life-altering assassination attempt will change Trump. I’m not sure in what ways exactly, but he’ll be a different man, a different kind of president as well. Last night Trump unexpectedly walked into the convention hall, and you could see the changes on his face and in his demeanor. The idea the bullet missed his brain because he slightly turned his head is being called Devine Intervention by many – that he is being protected so he can serve another term as president. I happen to be someone who believes in such higher power interventions and unexplained miracles.

  16. Hi, Jan. Some don’t like the idea of the party expanding the tent – ironically they call themselves Reagan (who also drew in the lower and middle class voter) Republicans.

They say Vance can’t attract anyone. I guess lower income and young voters don’t count. I saw yesterday a story about Gen Z trending Republican. But, the smart kids say Trump should only worry about suburban moms. There’s a new tent. Some can’t deal with it.

  19. Jan, I agree something looked different about Trump last night. If it were me, I’d be hesitant to walk on the stage again (in a PTSD way). Maybe there was some of that.

As the evening went on, I got the feeling that (in his mind) he may have felt like he got a chance to attend his own memorial.

I doubt it’ll last, although a new campaign strategy may endure.

WordPress seems to have made some changes today, either that, or bunu is actively trying to destroy the page again. Can you create a new thread?

  23. I stand by what I have posted. Vance is 39 so he is old to those who are 18-30. Rural voters are already voting for Trump. Blue collar workers are already voting for Trump in large numbers and I doubt Vance’s law degree will add more. Jan’s belief that women will vote for Vance because he is handsome is pretty dismissive of women’s intelligence. We’ll see what happens.

  24. Tina, I saw that booing of Mitch. I wish that hadn’t happened. It is time for him to leave leadership and he has said he will do so. Therefore, booing a guy who did a lot of good things over the years does nothing to advance any cause and will piss off the Bitter/Robbie wing of the party.
