  1. The circuitous route taken by Trump, to become the Republican nominee for the 2nd time, is truly amazing.

  2. Newt Gingrich is saying the number of never-Trumpers shrank by 50% in 2 days.

  5. Jan – In what way? He was the presumptive nominee and prevailed in the primaries. He was always going to be the nominee. The assassination attempt did not make it a circuitous path. You are getting want you want. No need to make it seem like an epic struggle.

  7. This Virginia poll had a party ID breakdown of D34 / R28 / I30

There is no party registration in VA, but I am pretty sure this self-id weighting is off in the D direction.

  9. lol bitter. I got a “that’s what she said” mug for Christmas one year because that’s my signature line (stolen of course from Michael Scott)

  10. I don’t think God cares who wins. If he did, please explain the election of every Democrat President starting with Jefferson.

  11. God certainly does care about who wins. However, He gave humanity dominion over our world means He respects what we do/decide.

He Himself said, “If My people, called by My name, repent and turn to Me, I will heal their nation”

    It is up to us.

  12. I would prefer that God stay out of politics and cure sick children instead. Of course, God does not care about my preferences. Everybody I pray for dies so I try not to bother Him.

  15. It is true we have our own opinions about His interest in our affairs, but we know from His Word and from Sacred Tradition that Christ is King and that all rulers do so according to His Will. That will may be His perfect Will or His permissive Will, but nothing happens that He does not will or permit.

  16. Hodges, you don’t know God’s choice for President any more than does Bitter.

Religious people on the right say God prevented Trump’s death. Religious people on the left think God prevented the ruin of the country when Biden won in 2020.

Neither can be proven right or wrong.

  17. Well, I guess with your all knowing abilities, Bitter, Trump’s rise out of the ashes of 2020 was a no-brainer for you. But, for most mortals, as well as historical precedence, someone coming back to challenge, let alone win, the nomination for a party’s presidency is an “amazing” feat.

  18. I dont need to know God’s Mind on anything.

    But I know this:

Abortion is murder. God would never approve it nor would He bless any attempts to do so.

Same thing with same-sex marriage, transgender surgeries, etc.

Nations have the right to control their borders.

He has a preferential love for the poor and needy.

Of all of the candidates, Trump is the best match for those givens.

    Deal with it.

  19. Hodges, you don’t need to know God’s Mind on anything, but somehow you know His mind on a laundry list of issues. This is a list of your belief system, not things you know.

    Deal with it.

  25. Hodges, it appears to me that you are explaining away God’s word and teaching. There are well-meaning people on the Left that believe the opposite of you regarding God’s involvement in political events.

    Why are you right?

Democrats probably hope it is Vance so abortion is back as a prominent issue.

  29. Not sure what either left or right think. In this country, the cultural right is most closely aligned with God’s Word and Teaching on matters of family, faith, LIFE, and national sovereignity. A case could be made the left is more aligned with His Will on helping the poor and needy, but I would argue that would be incorrect.

However, what is important is how a candidate lines up with Him rather than who He favors.

  30. Like bitter, I will vote for Trump regardless of who he picks for VP.

I continue to hope and believe it will be Carson. I would like Youngkin.

Anyone but Haley or Gabbard for me, but I am all in regardless.

Want him to pick whoever helps him win this November. That is it.

  31. Bitter, I think Youngkin is the ideal pick. Haley is a good unity pick, but I have the same reservations about her as the poster formerly known as Jason.

Vance doesn’t have enough experience, imo.

prefer youngkin, think Haley would really cement a victory.

what Saturday proved us we need someone who can step in and be President. Besides Rubio those are the two best with experience to step in

  40. ugh. Other than being a loyal fief he adds nothing. In a state Trump will win by 10 points he scrapped by and barely won.

he’s a jackass loudmouth, who believes everyone should be governed exactly as he says. There’s no nuance, no diplomacy, no experience, no appeal beyond hard core Trumpistas and Pauliacs. Ugh. The exact opposite of someone who should be President
