God’s Hand is on Trump like it was on Reagan, Pope John Paul II and so many people who get attacked for standing for Christ and/or the USA.

It is unfortunate to see people who claim to care, try to downplay the significance of this, who are not outraged, or who try to contain the outrage of those who understand that it is the US being targeted.

I thought for sure the Lawfare would succeed in stopping Trump and if not they would kill Trump. Well they finally tried. The rhetoric of the left brought the obvious action of some wacko.

But I believe there must supernatural forces at work which I was not expecting to thwart the evil woke commie Dems up to this point.

It is beyond my comprehension that an assassin could put himself in the position he did on a roof in direct line of fire of Trump and get off as many shots as he did before he was eliminated. The Secret Service on duty were negligent in protecting Trump until it was almost too late.

As RDS commented why wasn’t this thread neutralized before getting off a shot? This is abject failure on the Secret Service.

In Gods providence this 20 year old nut job failed as Trump moved his head at the exact moment to miss a kill shot to his head.

I think it due to global warming, and being deluged on social media with mattress ads that perhaps have subliminal messages in them.

It is pretty simple. One of the below two are in play.

    1. The secret service folks are just outright incompetent. They just sat there and watched as the supposed gunman climbed up a building in broad daylight 100 yards from the stage carrying a high powered rifle? really??

The lifelong (not bureaucrats like the current head) agents of the Secret Service who are on Presidential detail, are hardcore, and take their job seriously. You would have had to have had dozens participate in order to have a conspricay, and thats not happening.

It was a failure though. Anytime a protectee is hit, its a failure. My guess is the two on the building were still assessing…(they didn’t want to take out an innocent civilian if that’s what it turned out to be) and couldn’t see the weapon until it was too late.

BTW most people forget that the Secret Service mostly handles financial crimes. Only a scant few agents are on protective detail. The rest are in finance…and it did look like some agents were DEI hires brought over from that division.

  56. Jan,

I have almost no idea of what project 2025 is, nor what–if any–involvement Trump has in that. It sounds like it is a think tank proposal from a gaggle of brainiac conservatives, and since Trump is neither a deep thinking brainiac nor a conservative, I doubt he knows much about it either.

    ******************************************************

You may not believe this, but a person like me can be all of these things at once:

    –a good conservative,

–a person who does not think Trump is fit to be president,

–a person who does not believe Trump is the second coming of Christ

–but a person who thinks the Trump administration accomplished a lot of things that were far better than what any Dem adm. would ever try to do,

–a person who would see Trump as president again as an improvement over Biden or over ANY Democrat who would continue crazy policies.

–a person who thinks Biden and the Dems are batsh!t crazy as to what they advocate

–and a person who would much rather have just about any R POTUS candidate than Trump BECAUSE with anyone else you take AWAY all the Dem ammunition and campaign issues and half-baked charges of “Trump is evil, Trump is a moral catastrophe in his personal behavior (true), Trump uses inappropriate language and is not a good orator(true), Trump wants to destroy democracy, Trump was trying to overthrow the government on Jan. 6, Trump is a convicted felon (true), Trump’s people are gonna institute project 2025, Trump said drink Chlorox to fight COVID, etc., Trump is RICH therefore you should dislike him, etc., etc.”

BECAUSE…all the mostly false, or half-false or distorted charges against Trump makes the focus of the presidential race a personality conflict between a person with a LOT of baggage vs. a nicer looking/sounding guy who might be incompetent as president and run the country in the ditch, BUT HE AT LEAST IS NOT AS BAD AS TRUMP IN WITH ALL HIS BAGGAGE.

Thank you Retlaw. I know there are many hardworking public servants who have dedicated their lives to important work in specific areas that get little noticed: things like weather, traffic, engineering bridges, water quality, health etc. I would hate for these people to get axed and their work discarded.

  102. Trump didn’t initially have $250 million to spend on trashing DeSantis & Haley. There have been relatively few ads out, the expenditures in his early primary states were far less than DeSantis & Haley, and he didn’t have any campaign offices in the states until fairly recently. I personally didn’t like his negative verbiage on either of those candidates, even though I could understand why he was disgruntled with them.

As for the rest of your discourse, retllaw, I won’t “burn up my time” to answer it, point by point. A generalized response, though, is it appears you see Trump’s veneer as who he is, without going any deeper. You also seem invested in dem talking points as valid descriptions of him. However, there are many, many anecdotal stories and personal testimonies from employees, friends, political staff, ministers, people in the military or service industries etc, even adversaries who, after they met him or were given his time, attention or even money, have contrary impressions from your own.

Of course, hardly anyone is pointing out that the ramped up vicious rhetoric by both sides and fanned by the media played any part in this.

  105. Another conspiracy theory:

Rep. Mike Waltz (R-FL) claimed that there had been repeated requests for enhanced Secret Service protection for Trump, which were allegedly denied by Secretary Mayorkas. If true, the allegation suggests a possible neglect of duty at high levels of government, raising questions about the motives and decision-making processes that potentially left a former president vulnerable to such a deadly threat.

First I heard or read of that.

So here is a talented math student with a lot of potential working in a nursing home, which seems to not mesh. I usually don’t think of brainiac math people who like to work to with “things” like theorems and mathematical concepts doing well when interacting with and taking care of the needs and humanistically interacting with people in a nursing home.

    Per New York Post:

The 20-year-old man who attempted to assassinate Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania Saturday was described by former classmates as a bullied loner with a penchant for hunting outfits and video games.

Thomas Matthew Crooks was killed by the Secret Service on Saturday evening after he opened fire at the Butler Farm Show grounds, grazing Trump and killing another attendee.

Crooks – who graduated from Bethel Park High School in 2022 – was a loner who was “relentlessly” bullied, former classmate Jason Kohler told KDKA.
