Though to be honest, this hasn’t been a bad summer at all. Spring lasted all the way until late May here, which is incredible. Since I have lived here in TX I recall many years where it hit 90 on March 1 and didn’t fall below that until November. A year or two ago we had something like 90 straight days of 100+
It;s July and things are still green here, Weve been getting some rain, which keeps temps down. We had one truly hot “spell” of about four weeks, but the last ten days its been bearable.

I will admit it seems like we have had hotter summers the last few years. I don’t believe humans caused it or can change it. Both can be true.

Bitter – that is my view of the “climate crisis” as well. Man neither caused it, nor can change it, as the earth’s climate has been changing for billions of years, and will continue to do so. Forcing companies, and people into absurd regulations that are only there to benefit left leaning organizations and redistribute wealth is tyranny in its most basic form.
With that said, if consumers want companies to do their utmost to reduce emissions, that is not bad. But it should be consumer driven, and not excessive. Being responsible stewards of the earth is a good thing, having government enforced arbitrary restrictions and taxation is not.
To be honest, no one, and i mean no one, is addressing the true strain on the world. A population that has jumped from 1B to 8B in one century, and is skyrocketing forward, is the true problem that strains the earth and its resources. Look at where the population is growing the most, in areas where they can least afford it and resources are stretched to the extreme.
That is why we have so many refugees reshaping Europe and North America, turning it into reflections of the places they fled.

Since its a slow Saturday I will post this. Reasons why we should never believe the media: part infinity:
So reflecting back on the French (and to a degree the UK elections) we have been told that the Far Left and Macron’s party won, and the RN (right leaning party) finished third…which was an epic failure for the Right and shows that the country rejected them…but is that true?
The media reports on the massive victory over the right, yet, they managed to nearly double their number of seats, and in just four years went from near zero to 142 seats. The “leading party” only has 188 seats…far from a “massive victory for the left”…but if we dig deeper into the numbers, which the media won’t, we will see the shocking truth.
The far left socialists/communists joined forced with Macron’s party to “drop out of” nearly 220 races where the Right could have won, to prevent their victory…and it worked. I have painstakingly gone through most of the seats, and found the RN would have won at least 155 more seats…in some locations they lost elections where the third party candidate withdrew by less than 20 votes, and in more than 40 by less than 100.
This would have given them a majority, and control of the government, if the election had been run like it traditionally has.
More than that, let’s look at actual vote totals from the election.
New Popular Front (NFP) 26.3 %
Ensemble (ENS) 24.7 %
Nat Rally Alliance (RN) 37.1 %
Les Républicains (LR) 6.2 %
Its clear that the right leaning party won more votes than any other party…by a substantial margin, but “lost the election badly” according to the media. Same in the UK where the right won over 38% of the vote, whereas the left struggled to get to 33%, yet the “left” won an overwhelming majority in the Parliment, so the media could paint, with broad sweeping strokes, that the left has been “victorious” in both elections.
It’s apparent that by the next election the RN will win the Presidency, and be able to control the narrative (and the invasion) of France. Same with Labour in the UK. After the British struggle under a couple years of oppressive Labour socialist/communist policies and unfettered immigration, you will see a backlash.
The purpose of the post? One – don’t ever believe the media narrative. They lie in order to create a narrative. Two – Facts are a stubborn thing. We should all strive to find out what the facts are, because often time they will surprise us.

Most of the data Vic posted above probably was derived from alternative, independent, or social media sources. They are news outlets more people are turning to rather than the alphabet or legacy media. This even includes Tic Tock which can be more honest than what we used to observe as our free public press, which now seems more aligned with government endorsed narratives all over the world.
Chicon, I saw Tucker was going to be speaking in a prime time slot. He probably will turn lots of heads – both in positive and negative ways.

Jan – actually it was not. It was obtained from Le Monde and the Daily Mail. very “mainstream media”. The problem is that it was further down in the articles reporting on the election. People only read the headlines and first couple of paragraphs. In fact, in reporting on the elections with those facts, they were still exalting the massive victories of the left as the “voice of the people” against right wing policies.
It’s amazing when you read the facts as the facts, and disregard the hyperbole.

I read the Daily Mail all the time. It’s one of the most widely circulated publications and, IMO, is pretty straight forward and fair in their coverage, considering the reporting of competing papers. When percentages of votes are included in an article one can extrapolate the facts for themselves. Clearly The right did the best. I think Macron’s bundling up all the fringe parties will not wear well on the French people, if chaos ensues and a government is unable to be formed because of that tactic.

More toxic and divided environment than I have ever seen since 1968. George Wallace, Bobby Kennedy, both shot that year.
Since 1968, several generations of people being raised with no moral bearing, uncivility (even on blog sites) sense of responsibility, lack of clear-thinking processes, the “no consequences for bad behavior” thinking, people getting all ginned up over various issues, etc.
And far more mentally ill people walking around without their meds than compared to 1968.
And today, add in the mentally deranged transgenders, drug addicts, drug cartels, 11 million more illegal aliens, high emotions regarding the Hamas/Israel conflict, Rusia/Ukraine war, southern border, economic issues, etc.
