DW, Rasmussen’s final poll in 2020 was Biden, 51-44. They had Clinton +2 in 2016. In 2012, they were off with Romney +1. But they nailed 2004 and 2008. Except for 2012, their horse race numbers have been very accurate.

I don’t think Trump is up 10, but it’s also certainly not tied – not if he’s polling even in MN and VA.

Trump is preceding more discreetly this time. He seems very goal-oriented to get elected by as broad a demographic as possible. This weekend he’s having a rally in Philly, followed by one in Virginia next Friday with Glenn Youngkin a day after his debate with Biden.

-IF Trump starts deporting those who came over since Jan 20th 2021, I might be OK with such a program, BUT ONLY AFTER a lot of illegals are deported FIRST. Woman at work, legal immigrant from Philipines, adopted a child there 8 years ago, still trying to get her here legally. I have little to no problem with Trump SAYING he will do something. Once he becomes President, there are certain things that need to go through Congress. Hopefully, a Republican Congress will concentrate on the right things, and delay initiatives like this until illegal immigration is back under control (aka ENFORCE THE CURRENT LAWS ON THE BOOKS!)
Bitterlaw, the closer we get to the election, I hope to be around more. Hiring people has been very hard, and we are very busy, so very limited time.
Hope all of you are well! Catch Game 7 on Monday night, should be a good one!

Ok, NYC gives RINO Trump a free pass, we knew he would. Remember, this is the guy who called Rubio a traitor for shaking hands with Chuck Schumer, but who gave Trump a free pass on funding Chuck Schumer and Harry Reid for decades “because he wanted to build in Manhattan”. This was the guy who gave Trump a free pass for signing huge spending bills because “he was only signing them”.
So not a surprise he gives the Mother of All RINOS Trump a free pass on a green cards for everyone who “graduates” in basket weaving, climate change and transgender studies at a junior college.
What say Tina? Free pass?

From the WSJ:
”Historian Niall Ferguson recently invoked what he calls his own personal law of history: “Any great power that spends more on debt service (interest payments on the national debt) than on defense will not stay great for very long. True of Habsburg Spain, true of ancien régime France, true of the Ottoman Empire, true of the British Empire, this law is about to be put to the test by the U.S. beginning this very year.” Indeed, the Congressional Budget Office projects that, in part because of rising interest rates, the federal government will spend $892 billion during the current fiscal year for interest payments on the accumulated national debt of $28 trillion—meaning that interest payments now surpass the amount spent on defense and nearly match spending on Medicare.”

A state-by-state breakdown of abortion laws 2 years after Roe was overturned (aol.com)
WV is in the group that is “reported” as “A near total ban on abortion”
What is reality for WV is:
–You can get an abortion up to 8 weeks gestation if pregnancy is due to rape or incest.
–You can get an abortion if the fetus is non-viable.
–You can get an abortion in cases of medical emergency.
–you can get an abortion to save the life of the mother.

So I guess that “qualifies” as a “near complete ban”?

Vic, Nunes attributes go much further than his loyalty to Trump. He represented the Central Valley farming community in CA. Was a well respected member of Congress, lots of experience with Intel agencies, honest and not a “yes” man without questioning and doing timely research on current issues at hand. He is basically a solid, sensible, reasonable, listening representative of the people.
Haley, OTOH, is a ladder-climber, her ambition outranks her skill sets, she is disliked by the grassroots who simply don’t trust her. As for me I agree with all that, plus I think she is too invested in outside wars, while too milquetoast regarding domestic issues and our eroding fiscal policy. Her actions too, during her final days in the presidential primaries, were less than appealing to many voters.

nunes is not presidential material. He has no executive leadership, not very well liked outside hardcore Trump supporters and his district.
Haley is a two term governor, Un Ambassador, appeals to undecided voters and those on the fence about Trump. She’s a solid conservative, with conservative positions and the record to prove it. I do not like the way she wavers too easily, trying to be everything to everyone, including those who will hate her because she’s an R. She needs more fortitude to stand by her conservative values and positions.
out of all the potential candidates for VP, besides DeSantis, she brings the most to the table, and is most ready to be President. Rubio and Scott are close behind.

Vic, Trump’s core supporters are self.described MAGA. RSBN is the network who follows him around to all his functions. It is hard core MAGA. TPUSA is a growing youth organization supporting his candidacy & has denounced Haley. She would be a poison pill to his presidential run. You, OTOH, appear more of an establishment republican, & it’s understandable you would see Haley from a different perspective than populist conservatives do.

Jan. I’m just not sure what you expect from a VP. It seems you want someone whose loyal to trump as qualities 1-5.
I want someone who could step in and be the President. Neither Vance nor Nunes are Presidential material. They lack the experience, leadership, policy chops, and mostly, neither would be the President I’d all Americans, they would be the President if a very very small sect of people. If I had to choose between then I’d choose Nunes, and he is not ready to be a President.
anyway, the argument is somewhat mute since neither will be the VP. Trump wants to win this time.

Trump made a statement today he has chosen his VP, he hasn’t told them yet, and they will be at the debate. Kind of sketchy and dramatic at the same time. While I do think having someone on board with your vision of governance and policies is important (similar to qualities one seeks in a marriage), having the skill sets, domestic/foreign policy knowledge and savvy is mandatory. I don’t see either Nunes or Vance as lightweights like you do. It seems to me their major flaw, for you, is their lack of enthusiasm to advance the war in Ukraine. Nonetheless, I’m starting to get the drift Trump’s choice will be someone few are talking about.

Its very easy to see the internal polling based on behavior. Internal polling clearly shows that Kennedy hurts Biden more than Trump. We know this because the DNC has opened lawsuits in the following state in a desperate move to force Kennedy off the ballot:
DE, HI, NV, NY, & NC
If Kennedy hurt Trump more, Democrats would DEMAND he be on the ballot.
