Vic is right. I guess we’re both Putinistas.

Thank you,

for reminding Americans that following the Constitution isn’t “extreme.” What’s extreme is a government that gives us: —a $35 trillion national debt —using FISA 702 for warrantless surveillance of Americans —working months each year to pay taxes —100,000 pages of new laws each year written by unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats —a legislative branch that outsources the lawmaking, rendering themselves unaccountable —a Congress that routinely runs $2 trillion annual deficits, passing spending bills that no American (and almost no member of Congress) has had the opportunity to read, much less debate and amend —endless wars focused more on foreign entanglements than our national security

Anybody who does not understand that opposing Putin’s expansion IS in America’s strategic interest is just not bright. How would the surrender of Ukraine strengthen America?

Bitter – I couldn’t agree more. And Ukraine won’t surrender if Trump is President. I honestly believe he will go full on Reagan and arm them to the teeth in order to end the war.
Jan – as you can imagine, not a big Mike Lee fan. btw while he has a couple of good points (broken clock), his Pauliac beginnings show with his “foreign entanglements and FISA 702 warrants – (which are not used that often on everyday Americans…and its done even without the warrant.)

Bitter you’re such a one-issue person. Nothing or no one seems to matter more to you than a complete expulsion of Russia from Ukraine, including Crimea. With the multitude of problems here and around the world, with Putin becoming BFF with N Korea, China, Iran, and lingering off the coast of Cuba with ships capable of carrying nuclear warheads, you would think the national security vulnerabilities these situations pose for us would move your concerns over to this country every once in awhile.
BTW, please find a credible article (not an opinion piece) substantiating Putin’s desire to conquer Ukraine, only to expand its land grab by taking over other countries as well. So far I’ve seen little evidence of that being his ultimate destination. In fact what he has signaled as his biggest gripe is Ukraine joining NATO, with goals being wanting to take over areas like the Donbas which are occupied by many Russians. There have been subtle talks already of peace through compromise. But, such compromises seem repugnant to you, and I guess seeing more death, destruction, coupled with endless aid packages, few countries can afford, is what you see as the only principled way to address this war.
Most would say that kind of thinking is not very “bright” either.

Vic, I don’t think abusing fisa searches 278,000 times on Americans could be called “not that often.” During Obama’s presidency the court chastised him for overstepping his legal bounds in such searches. It did no good, as it just continued. Also, the use of “Pauliac” to label people’s ideological intentions is about as effective as someone using the term “neocon” – a labeling I know you find unnecessary.

Jan. Lee started out under the Paul banner, hence the reason that I used it, and has a lot of the Paul based policies as the core of his agenda.
the irony of the term neocon is thst it’s used improperly. A true neocon was the term used for a democrat who supported the military. The Paul crowd co-opted it and turned it into a negative way to label conservative Republicans
for the record, I am not for FISA warrants at all, but I can tell you, of those 278,000 people, most would have been surveilled anyway. Sadly.

Jan – I have posted Putin’s speech about restoring Greater Russia several times.
Hitler justified seizing Czechoslovakia because many Germans lived there. Tyrants always find a way to justify their expansionism.
North Korea? Zzzzzzz. Worthless ally and bigger burden than asset to Russia.
