  1. I said from the beginning that the cases against Trump were politically motivated garbage. I will now give my vote for President to a man unjustly convicted of felonies because I am loyal to the party, not the man. The real world sucks.

I think Boden’s Genocide convention in August will have 20 times that minimum. The protestors are keeping their cards close to their chest, but I think they show up in August.

    This is important. Money talks.

“Former President Donald Trump has at least one group of supporters he won’t have to worry about losing even after he was found guilty in his New York criminal hush money trial: Republican megadonors.

“I haven’t heard anybody who gives a s—,” said New York businessman and Republican donor Andy Sabin, when asked whether major GOP contributors he knows care about the verdict in Trump’s trial.

Many of the party’s wealthiest donors tell CNBC they plan to stay in Trump’s corner, despite him being found guilty in New York on all 34 felony counts.

The donor sentiment represents a shift for some Republican megadonors, who initially looked for an alternative to Trump during the party’s presidential primary, driven by a belief that the the former president’s legal problems would fatally weaken his campaign to replace President Joe Biden.

Now, “There is zero care about that,” a longtime Republican fundraiser told CNBC. “A year ago, maybe [the trials mattered]. Now, none.”

I have still not figured out how to make it so all threads appear under the main page https://hhrphoenix.com/ without having to go to separate pages https://hhrphoenix.com/author/bitterlaw/ or https://hhrphoenix.com/author/dwhhr

I am told it doesn’t work this way for everyone, but for me the main page doesn’t have any threads, and I have to go to bitter’s author page to see them, or I can go to my author page, but there is no way to see them together from the main page. So that is why I still log in as bitter to post new threads. My goal is to figure this out, and fix it, without doing any colossal damage to the page.

I am going to have limited availability tomorrow through Wednesday of next week. But I think the first priority is getting the threads to all appear directly on https://hhrphoenix.com/

That way the reader will know just by looking which of the three administrators posted the thread.

As this lawfare success sinks in, I think a national furor will simmer among the “little people,” many belonging to the silent majority who ordinarily bite their lip when screwed over, but continue to lawfully get on with their lives. However, when something so blatantly unlawful occurs, akin to a judicial assassination, something that one party joyfully embraces as a “win,” dismissing all omissions of fairness as exemplifying some kind of unethical “rule of law,” quiet discontent will no longer be observed.

Indeed, great damage was done today to the public’s faith in the American legal system. If a former President can be criminally convicted over such a trivial matter – motivated by politics, rather than justice – then anyone is at risk of a similar fate.

    Geiger Capital

    @Geiger_Capital

The first felony conviction of a former US President wasn’t for the Iraq or Afghanistan wars, illegal CIA coups, drone striking weddings, or spying on Americans… It was because Trump misclassified a $130,000 payment for a porn star’s NDA. Tells you everything you need to know.

  33. Part of me thinks that the Dems just handed Trump the election. The people who would care that he’s a “convicted felon”…were the Left extremists who already hated him and would not vote for him. It may galvanize some suburban soccer moms who most likely still were not going to vote for him, but I see a lot of people on the margins who see this as a political hit job, and think, as Elon noted above…if they can do this to him, they can do it to me, pushing them to vote Trump…or not vote at all, which will be a vote lost for Biden

BTW…I lost all faith in NDA’s after this

    Like

  35. Trump has consistently said he did not sleep with Stormy, supported by a letter she submitted, some time ago, to not sleeping with him either. Apparently her dalliance was with Michael Cohen.

As for the immediate public reaction to this politicized verdict. – massive lines formed outside the Trump Tower this morning during his speech, mainly with supporters of his. Social media also had significant outrage by people who, like retllaw, had never voted for Trump, but would now “crawl over broken glass” to vote for him in ‘24.

  36. BTW, an interesting factoid is that on May 30, 1431 Joan of Arc was burned at the stake for the crime of heresy – mainly for her heroic participation in helping the French during the 100 Year War. She was exonerated years later, and even achieved the status of sainthood. Trump symbolically was also burned at the stake of our politicized legal system yesterday, May 30th. Kind of an historical coincidence….

So if Trump could do it, any president could do it, even a clown like Biden who barely can remember his name.

Bitter, that’s your line, comparing Zelenskyy to Jesus.

However, it’s alarming you feel inclined to slam Joan of Arc. Next you’ll be going after Mother Teresa! Both of these women were remarkable for their bravery and persistence in devoting themselves to what they felt were righteous and just goals. But, of course, such historical discourse and/or relevance to today’s events just goes over your head.

As a side note, while the Biden Administration is quietly escalating their involvement in Ukraine – allowing our weapons to finally go deeply into Russia – Italy is stepping back, saying recently their weapons will not be deployed into Russia, nor will their troops be used in Ukraine. With the EU elections on the horizon, and people becoming more hostile to war efforts, it appears some of the EU leaders are taking notice of the changes in their people’s sentiments.

  69. James Rickards gave an interesting analysis of the recent court verdict, saying the 1st, 5th, 6th and 14th amendments were all violated in the courtroom proceedings. He goes on to say…..

”Skeptics may believe that the New York appeals courts (The First Appellate Division where I was sworn in as a lawyer decades ago, and the Court of Appeals) will be as biased as the trial court. That’s not true.

Appellate law is quite different from trial law. There are no witnesses and the facts are not disputed. The matters considered are all points of law. The lawyers submit briefs and deliver oral arguments. Stormy Daniels and the proven liar Michael Cohen (on whose testimony the case was largely decided) will not be in the First Division courtroom.

The First Division Appellate Court will be concerned about two things: getting the law right and not being overruled by the Court of Appeals, the highest court in New York. Both considerations lean in favor of reversing Trump’s convictions and that’s likely to happen.

The difficulty is that the appeals process is unlikely to be concluded before the election. It simply takes time to file the motion, prepare the briefs, schedule the oral arguments and render a judgment. An emergency appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court is possible, but that’s a legal long shot.”
