I don’t say Happy Memorial Day because there is nothing happy about dead service members. Still, they deserve to be honored and remembered on this and every day.

I don’t say it either, but I see churches and businesses around here with “Happy Memorial Day” signs so I guess you can interpret it as an occasion when you can honor and remember with happiness those that have passed.

Because the Second-tier A-hole was whining more than usual, I reread his original post about the 102 and 100 year old couple. I did not realize both were Jewish. Unlike the Second tier A-hole (who isn’t really named Jason), I can admit I was wrong. The Second-tier A-hole is not, based on that post, against interfaith marriages.
Now, will the Second-tier A-hole admit that his comment that I would probably not attend a Jewish wedding was stupid considering my wife is Jewish and I have attended Jewish weddings? Pretty simple question but will probably not answer it.

When you want to admit you are wrong, just admit your are wrong, don’t qualify it. Besides, you didn’t say I was against interfaith marriages, you said I said YOU were against interfaith marriages, so you are still wrong. Still, admitting you are wrong is a rarity at HHR so Bitter gets credit for admitting to being wrong even if he doesn’t know what he is admitting to.
My comment on you not attending a Jewish wedding was a JOKE to illustrate how dumb your theory that I can’t comment on the Pope’s political positions because I am not Catholic is.
If it makes you feel better, I don’t really think you cannot attend Jewish weddings.

There is an attack on the fact your are complicit with the Marxist exhortations of the Pope because you pretend that they are meaningless because they don’t deal with “doctrine”.
You try to justify the fact you are complicit by saying you “don’t agree with the Pope’s political statements” but at the same time you minimize and dismiss them with the BS theory that what the Pope says outside of doctrine is not important and is not destructive to society and the church itself.

So what are the odds that at least one of the jurors in the Trump trial voted for Trump?
Actually, pretty good if you believe the jury selection was impartial (yeah, I doubt it too).
Trump got 12.2% of the vote in Manhattan (New York County) in 2020, over 85,000 votes. That was an improvement for him, he got less than 10% and only 64,000 votes in 2016.
But assuming jury selection was random, that means statistically there should be at least one Trump voter in a 12 person jury, considering about 1 in 8 Manhattan voters voted for him.

DEA Says Mexican Cartels Operate in All 50 States | Red Nation Today

One can add the death toll of around 100,000 Americans each and every year from the consequences of the Mexican drug cartels’ “free use” of the border, to the costs per criminal migrant of 100,000 bucks a year (50,000 each for direct and indirect costs).
We can also add in the mounting threat of escalating drug and drug related crime that, if the current rate of penetration and infiltration into every aspect of American lives continues, will turn the US into some of the worst crime-ridden areas of Mexico and the rape, murder and extortion that pervades the “trail of tears” that exists along the migration routes into the US.
If the Democratic party (co-dependent n the Mexican drug cartels) wins in November, the US could easily see another 10115 million criminal migrants trafficked into every America State and large city, bringing the total of criminal migrants in the 8 years from 2021 to, say, 2029, to close to 25 million.
More than enough to seize control of the USA – quite the prize. Already, it is possible that America politicians and bureaucrats are either working directly for the Mexica drug cartels, willingly or unwillingly.

Memorial Day honors those who put their lives on the line to essentially protect <b>this</b> country. Underlining such a “holiday” is the wisdom, when war can be prevented, diverting hostilities away from the cruel/devastating effects of war, it should be done. Senseless, endless wars, like the one being incentivized by the U.S. in Ukraine, is a prime example of one that could have been avoided back in Sept. 2022. Instead, the Biden Administration, coupled with couch-warrior Republicans, demand more Ukrainian bloodshed, and American involvement at any cost. Foolhardy doesn’t even begin to describe how such self-described conservatives seem to appear, especially to the growing number of people in this country (except hard—core Dems and “neocons”) who feel our responsibilities and money should be focused here, and not thousands of miles away overseas.

GW – WWI was almost averted but some messages to the kaiser didn’t make it to him on time and his advisors convinced him to go to war. Had the messages reached him on time, it could have been avoided at the time, though realistically, it was bound to happen eventually.
All the new weapons developed in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s had many itching to use them…19th century ideas of kingdoms/countries didn’t contemplate the devastation of 20th century weapons, which made war “unwinnable”…and nothing more than victory/defeat by attrition.
