Hopefully that works out as well for her as it did for Nixon. There are already four women running, and one man (all statewide office holders except for the state Senate leader). So, six serious Dems at least, and the AG may end up joining. In such a scenario, the CAGOP would be committing political malpractice to not run just two serious candidates, probably from opposite ends of the state (or at least, different metro areas) and hope for a Top Two lockout. It almost happened in 2014 for the Controller race, and that only had three Dems running.

Phillies blow a game to Mets in the 11th. I predicted that the Phillies-Mets 4 game series would end 2-2. Phillies go 3-1. 31-14 is still best record in baseball but still frustrating.

If Ukraine does not defeat Russia inside of Ukraine, then yes, American troops will be fighting Russia somewhere in Europe, because Putin will go after a NATO country next.
So, if one wants to keep American troops from fighting Russia, they should especially want Ukraine to defeat Russia so that never happens.
Of course, this situation would depend on whether or not the U.S. remains in NATO. Some want the U.S. out of NATO and thus Putin would not be our problem at all, right? Perhaps others would actively support Russia against the United States in the future, just as they support Russia against Ukraine now.

Bitter, the tolerance of the American public for funding the war will wane at some point if there is no discernable progress. You know this. One way to avoid this is for American troops to be there. So, you’ll be wanting to send the boys and girls over eventually.
The Ukrainians were not very effective with the Abrams tank and withdrew it from battle. We’ll see how they do with F-16’s, which they’ve been training on forever it seems. American weapons and money alone ain’t gonna get it done.
You can’t or won’t put limits on the amount of support – in time or money – you’d give Ukraine. You’re all in, so if needed you’ll send Americans.

Folks – American troops, nay, NATO troops are not going into Ukraine. If that happened Chinese forces would join Russian forces there and it would basically be the staging ground for WWIII. No one, not even pooty poot wants that.
I can say this with a degree of certainty. The US, and EU countries, are much more focused on the rebuild of Ukraine than they are sending troops in.

Chicon, the main problem in Ukraine is the lack of willing, youthful (average age of a soldier is 42) man-power to use the weapons being supplied. Various counter intelligent experts are not optimistic about Ukraine’s ability to defeat Russia, not only because of conscription problems, but because Russia is able to rapidly manufacture weapons, having troops more battle-ready than at the beginning of the war and able to be rotated out, unlike fatigued, combat-weary Ukrainian soldiers who stay on the front lines until they are killed.. The F-16s they say will not be that helpful as Russia has the missile capacity to take them out. Finally, regarding that latest $60 billion package, there again is little to no oversight on where it is spent. You know grifting is going on because Burns was sent over earlier to warn officials to stop stealing the aid given them.
Lastly, Putin has only become stronger because of his war with Ukraine. He’s formed a strong alliance with Xi, India is buying oil from Russia, other countries (even the U.S.) are able to circumvent sanctions imposed on Russia by the U.S. It has been referred to as sanction hypocrisy. Then you have the BRICS making greater headway in their efforts to end the reserve currency status of the U.S. But, all of these factors and variables sail right past those war enthusiasts who only have one retort —- you’re a Putin supporter if you don’t continue to indefinitely support more aid to Ukraine. It’s really futile to engage when people’s minds are so shut down.

This is indeed an issue. Abrams tanks have already been removed because the Ukranians aren’t practiced enough. F-16’s have been around the corner for months.
The one resource the US hasn’t provided yet is manpower. Russia has much more of that than does Ukraine. Can Ukraine win slowly without coming close to matching that resource? The big question is… can they win quickly with all the weaponry and money?
Bitter can’t discuss these issues in a rational fashion, so he calls people who do Putinistas.

So many lies from Chi. I never said to send American troops no matter how many times he says I support that. The answer is simple on how long to support Ukraine as long as Ukraine needs weapons. The weapons are made here by American workers. Many of the weapons being sent to Ukraine are at the end of their service life or due to be replaced. Why not kill Russians with them instead of dismantling and discarding them. The aid sent to Ukraine is a small fraction of the money necessary to defend American interests in Europe if Russian forces occupy Ukraine and move bases hundreds of miles deeper into Europe.
Chi’s biggest lie is that he initially supported aid to Ukraine. If that was true, he would not be so eager to abandon Ukraine to Putin now.

I do answer it.
Keeping the Putin from a new USSR/Greater Russia is in OUR interest.
How much did it “take” to fund the Cold War? The answer at the time was “whatever it takes”. Then Reagan took it a step further and said “whatever it takes to bankrupt the Soviets”
So I do own “whatever it takes”, I think we should arm Ukraine with whatever weapons/intelligence/systems they need to fight the Russians.
Now that I have answered Chicon’s “code” question, how about he show some honesty and admit his Putin talking points are just code for “unconditional surrender”.
The truth will set you free.
But at least we no longer have to deal with Chicon’s lie that he “supports” Ukraine.

I now know where and why Jason chose “Slava Ukraini” for his sign-in. Blinken recently had a pizza dinner in a Ukrainian pizzeria decorated with Nazi symbolism and praise for the Odessa Massacre:

There are also news reports explaining why the Russians are becoming so successful in their latest advances. It’s because monies meant to secure reinforced measures to block Russian troops have been skimmed off, put into fake LLCs, directing money into pockets of officials not military aid to help the soldiers on the front lines.
What’s becoming unsettling is how Jason is so ignorant of factual details incorporated into this war, mainly hooting and hollering about his own customized Putin narrative not related to Ukraine’s current, corrupt, overwhelming circumstances.

In Ukraine, many people initially welcomed the Germans as liberators because Stalin brutalized Ukraine and starved millions. Those people are all dead now.
Jan wants to portray Ukrainians as Nazis but ignores the fact that their elected leader is JEWISH.
