LEGISLATURE–R primaries
Of the 100 single member body (89 R-11D) something like 37 of the Rs have at least one primary challenger. Lots of the challengers are far right whack jobs.
Of the 17 State Senators on the ballot this year, FIVE have one or more primary challengers.
Senate President had TWO primary challengers. NASTY MAILERS from them. Plus, some PAC called Stand For Us out of Austin TX is a Republican group that is targeting current R legislators in WV and two other state legislatures controlled by Rs and are sending out mailers with wild and false charges against these good conservative Rs in WV calling them RINOs.

Local races–both State senate incumbents face primary challenges.
6 of 10 local Delegate races have two or more running in each delegate district. Lot of right-wing whack jobs running for open seats or challenging solid conservative Rs (who the whack jobs call RINOs).

Next door Jefferson county Republican party is in turmoil and open warfare.
County Commission had 5 Rs.
One moved out of state to create vacancy.
The other 4 Rs split on who to select to fill vacancy and are split as well on the issue of the addition of more solar farms in Jeff. Co. Two comms. refuse to come to meetings. Court cases filed. Judges kick these two commissioners off the commission. Turmoil.
Very active R group opposed to some of the current R state legislators from that county and flooding social media with anti-incumbent R stuff.
Besides that, the current R State Senator from Jefferson Co. has been a vocal opponent to the R Senate President and she is being challenged by a well know current R state delegate also from that county. The current Senator is openly supporting one of the challengers to the R Senate President (who she calls a RINO) in neighboring Berkeley county.
In Berkely County a few months ago, the R sheriff was forced to resign by the R pros. ATTY and all R County commission when he tried to interfere with a car accident involving his daughter (who was over legal limit for alcohol).

The AARP poll was three threads ago, but yeah, its good news. In fact when it comes to Pennsylvania, I checked every pollster with more than one poll of PA to see the trajectory, measuring the gap between the two candidates here is what I found:
Movement toward Biden: Morning Consult/Bloomberg (although Trump still barely ahead)
Flat line: Emerson, Trump ahead by 4
Movement toward Trump: Redfield and Wilton, Muhlenberg, Susquehanna (Biden still leads), and Franklin & Marshall (Biden still leads).

Poll has some interesting tidbits.
Biden losing 11% of Dems to Trump, Trump only losing 6% of Rs to Biden.
Trump leading 50-64 group by huge margin 56-39, but 65+ by only 2 pts. Not sure why that would be.
Trump only getting 8% of blacks 50+.
Trump killing the rural vote 65-29. Lest you think that is not important, PA still has a huge rural vote, third largest in nation after TX and NC, and only 2 PA counties, Philadelphia and Delco have no rural population.
Trump loses the college educated vote 55-38, wins non-college 57-38. Wins men by 14, loses women by 7.

I don’t know what the criteria is for qualifying an entire county “not having rural populations” but that is the official designation, not mine. Maybe it has to be a certain percentage of the population or percentage of the land use as defined by some overpaid bureaucrat.

Georgia Court of Appeals accepts Fani disqualification appeal, will rule some time this summer. And that can be appealed too.
So that case is not happening before the election either.

Jason, the AARP PA poll did have a large overall sample. I’m not sure how big the 65+ sample was; it could be that the margin of error on the subgroups is large.

The Georgia Court of Appeals has agreed to hear Trump’s appeal of the lower court’s decision to keep Fani on the case. This likely puts a hold on that case another several months.
I’m not sure of the makeup of the court, but I’d guess the moonbat quotient is much lower. Perhaps they will toss Fani; if not, look for an appeal to the Georgia Supreme Court.

The GA case now won’t be decided until August. If they boot Fani, there will be no trial before the election. If they don’t, it will be appealed to the GA SC and there will be no trial either.
If Trump wins maybe there will be a trial in 2029 since he cannot pardon himself on state charges.

So pretty much JeffP’s only hope that his DOJ friends will “derail” Trump is the J6 charges.
If SCOTUS decides for limited immunity while in office or sends it back to the lower court it pretty much ensures that trial won’t happen either.
In my view that is the most dangerous trial for Trump, because a DC jury will certainly convict him, I am skeptical a FL jury will convict him on the documents charges especially given the latest evidence of tampering with the evidence.
