Electing Trump will have very little impact on the long term direction of this country. It will slow down some things. The Federalist Society will help with judges. Maybe my son in law gets nominated. The economy is in perilous shape…not sure what can be done considering the damage printing all that money and easing the Fed did. Knowing Trump he will spend more again. The border will be immediately addressed. That is the positive.

The money remains broken. The current climate is always for dems to dare the republicans into not spending so they then destroy them at the ballot box when the economy tanks. Our current GDP “good” growth is entirely debt driven.
Also go back to Reagan who was one of the biggest spenders of all time. There really isn’t a template for fiscal restraint leading to electoral success.

You are wrong. It will “slow down” a lot of things.
It will slow down open borders. It will prevent the Dems from ending the filibuster and passing federalized voting laws that will ensure a one party state. It will “slow down” making Roe vs. Wade the law of the land. It will “slow down” the move to end free lance work and compulsory union memberships and dues and the end of right to work.
And you cannot minimize the importance of judicial appointments. Imagine a liberal SC right now.

Any significant change in the long term direction of the country would take a massive reform movement. Trump tried in 2016 with limited support. Not much lasting impact though and he definitely . has not been the same since he gave Fauci the keys to the country. Lowering corporate taxes the most impactful for the economy and executive orders that could be undone. Abram accords helped last night Some serious legislative wins on protecting the border and changing energy policy …drill baby…would be best case.
