Still wondering why RFKjr picked a far leftist as running mate. Yes, she has money, but she was already funding his campaign. Outside of that, it is hard to see what she brings to the table besides other far leftists.
I wonder if he is angry that Biden refused him secret service protection and is trying to deny him access to the ballot and decided to take revenge. Maybe he is angry his family is so vitriolic in condemning him.
They should be. Look at the polling aggregator above, now that the averages in NV, AZ, and GA are based on polls including Kennedy. Huge boost to Trump’s chances in these states. It essentially puts Trump’s floor at 268 EVs.
Have not yet updated Michigan, but the current numbers with or without Kennedy are about the same there.
Trump can get to 269 by winning the blueish congressional district in Nebraska.
Otherwise, win outright any of these states: MI, ME, PA, WI or any other state.
RFK should prevail in the end. He has done everything to qualify, and the efforts to stop him are the same lawfare efforts to arrest Trump to defeat him.
I doubt hardcore leftists are going to hand the election to Trump by voting for RFK, Jr. in close states. California, New York, and Massachusetts? Sure.
Apparently in some states the RFK effort will be a write-in campaign. I won’t include RFK in the polling in those states as write-ins are far less likely to happen in any sort of measurable quantity. But where RFK makes the ballot, then the polling should be taken seriously. Now as the election draws near, it would not surprise me to see his polling dry up in battleground states.
DW – we dont need Kennedy to get big numbers in NV, AZ, MI, PA, WI – if he gets 3% of the vote Trump wins because more dems will vote that ticket than republicans
Vic, this is true, but we need to temper expectations at this point, because as of right now, Kennedy is NOT on the ballot in PA or WI. Michigan is huge though, and will be watching the polling there very carefully. If Kennedy could get on the ballot in Maine, it would almost certainly throw the state’s 2 EVs in favor of Trump.
But with Trump’s floor at 268 EVs, he probably should make a strong play for that Nebraska district, as insurance. Its a HUGE world of difference to be at only 268 compared to a tie at 269.
I don’t believe Trump would survive a 269-269 tie, but at least he would be in the game. At only 268, its lights out.
DW – I have been preaching the NE-2 vote is imperative meme for months. Where I disagree with you is on the 269-269 tie. Trump will become President then. Republicans will control more states in the next House than Dems will…I believe it will be 27-21-2 or something similar. There is no way a Republican controlled state delegation would vote against Trump. They would all be primaried or forced out of office. If it is tied, Trump is President.
Vic, I totally get the state delegation math, but before that math happened, a faithless elector would switch from Trump to Biden, to avoid personal harm to family and friends.
Oof, Rasmussen’s Biden Job Approval just sank to 39/60. I don’t recall seeing it that low before. For the longest time its been a point or two around 42/56

The only way to prevent it is for the state GOP require a signed irrevocable pledge that if the elector cannot support the party candidate he/she can be replaced by someone who will.
I am sure it would be challenged in court but in the end SCOTUS would probably affirm it if it came to that. Plus the courts in the states Trump wins would be more likely to uphold the pledge than say in CA or NY.

JPMorgan Chase and ex-bank broker: $1.4 million
On Feb. 4, 2022, an unusual circumstance occurred where former JPMorgan Chase employee Dustin B. Luckett won a defamation case against the financial firm.
It was determined that Luckett had been wrongfully terminated due to rumors claiming he had facilitated documents being notarized incorrectly.
Though Luckett initially requested a settlement of $5.6 million, he received a lower settlement that included being reinstated as a Chase employee.Cardi B and Tasha K: $4 million

$4 million
YouTuber Latasha Kebe, known online as Tasha K, was ordered to pay rapper Cardi B $4 million after fueling and perpetuating rumors that the rapper had been a sex worker and drug addict and had contracted herpes.
Cardi B requested Kebe take down approximately 40 videos containing false information, which Kebe refused before legal action.
During the court proceedings in January 2022, Kebe admitted to knowingly spreading misinformation.Roy Moore and Senate Majority PAC: $8.2 million

$8.2 million
Republican and former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore was granted $8.2 million in August 2022 after a federal jury ruled that the Democratic-aligned Senate Majority PAC made defamatory statements about him.
The defamatory comments were made in a television advertisement during the 2017 U.S. Senate race. Though Moore won this suit, he has lost several other defamation suits he has filed, including one against comedian Sacha Baron Cohen.

$10 million
In a high-profile case widely debated across the internet, Johnny Depp was awarded a $10 million settlement in his suit against Amber Heard, who was awarded $2 million herself.
The ex-couple accused each other of ruining the other’s life and reputation during a weekslong trial that culminated in May 2022, sparking debates about potential domestic abuse perpetrated by both parties.
The lawsuit stemmed from a 2018 Washington Post op-ed authored by Heard addressing how women who speak up against domestic violence are treated in the U.S.Oberlin College and Gibson’s Bakery: $44.4 million
The summer of 2019 ended a yearslong ordeal for Gibson’s Bakery when it was awarded $44.4 million for libel perpetrated by Oberlin College.
The case was sparked by shoplifting at the bakery, which led to allegations that the small business was practicing racial profiling.
Student protests ensued, which Gibson’s Bakery said were supported by Oberlin.
Bluffton, South Carolina, Mayor Lisa Sulka sued Skip Hoagland after he sent a series of emails during 2015 and 2017 accusing her of criminal activity and being unfit for office.
The emails were received by numerous individuals, including public officials and the attorney general.
Sulka noted that the psychological impact of Hoagland’s comments was the most significant and was awarded $50 million in combined actual and punitive damages in February 2022.
A jury has awarded nearly $275 million to three New Hampshire businessmen in a defamation case involving accusations made on social media and electronic billboards.
(The lawyers for the person who claimed defamation was asking for $100 million. Jury thought that was not enough.)
Alex Jones and Sandy Hook families: approximately $1.5 billion
Marking one of the largest defamation awards in U.S. history, conspiracy theorist Alex Jones was ordered to pay approximately $1 billion in actual damages to the families of the victims of the Sandy Hook school shooting.
This was after he spread lies and misinformation about the event and those involved on his American far-right conspiracy theory and fake news website InfoWars. He included the false narrative that both the victims and their families were paid actors.
The case, presided over by Connecticut Judge Barbara Bellis, sent a strong message about the viability of Jones’ political style, though it may not necessarily discourage others from continuing on the same path.
Jones has publicly stated that he does not have the money to pay the damages.
On November 10, 2022, Judge Bellis added $473 million in punitive damages, bringing the total Jones owes to just under $1.5 billion.
I have yet to hear that the ship did not drop anchor to try to avert the calamity..”
It dropped the port anchor as a last ditch effort but the momentum can’t be slowed very quickly. I read where it takes 2 miles to stop a ship that big going 10 knots.
If you look at the video, you will see that at the last moment the ship does regain some control and lurches to the left to try to avoid the pylon but it was too late.
As far as being “uncanny”, not really, the span to cross under the bridge is pretty narrow so if you are off course you are going hit something. Since it was a truss bridge, any section he took out would have the same effect as hitting that pylon.
BTW, my understanding is that my A-hole application – which was submitted by Robbie – is perpetually at the bottom of the pile. A-holes move in mysterious ways.
“In recent decades, however, the Earth has rotated faster than would be otherwise expected because of fluctuations in its core. That has prompted timekeepers to consider — for the first time since Coordinated Universal Time was officially adopted in the 1960s — whether it might make sense to subtract a leap second to keep universal time in lockstep with Earth’s rotation.
The melting of polar ice has counteracted that trend and forestalled any decision point about a negative leap second. According to Agnew’s estimates, it has delayed that possibility by three years — from 2026 to 2029 — if the current pace of Earth’s rotation holds.”

The defamatory comments were made in a television advertisement during the 2017 U.S. Senate race. Though Moore won this suit, he has lost several other defamation suits he has filed, including one against comedian Sacha Baron Cohen.

Isn’t it uncanny that the ship that hit the bridge hit the bridge support dead on?
I have yet to hear that the ship did not drop anchor to try to avert the calamity..

I think the anchor would not have stopped it. Too much force/momentum to stop when steering failed.

More man-made global warming bu11sh!t:
Global warming has slightly slowed Earth’s rotation — and it could affect how we measure time (aol.com)

Holy Horse hockey.
And we probably spend millions of tax dollars to fund studies of this nonsense.
