  2. interesting call on Ike. He was courted by both the Dems and R’s to run in the 52 elections as no one knew which party he would align with.

if I remember correctly he continued the run of expanding federal power and increased alphabet agencies.
Marv and Tina – can I ask why you chose Ike.

  5. Even Andy McCarthy and Bondo Barr are not disputing this:

ndrew C. McCarthy: As president, Trump was undeniably authorized to keep classified intelligence in his possession…Biden, on the contrary, was not authorized to possess national-defense information outside a secure Capitol Hill location while he was in the Senate. Yet he took documents from their secure storage and kept them at various private locations, going back decades. He was well aware that he was in possession of classified information in unauthorized places, but he maintained it there so he could easily refer to it. This is why Hur concluded that his offense was willful…The failure to charge Biden, when Trump has been charged in dozens of counts, is inexplicable…based on solid evidence — that Biden acted willfully, establishing gross negligence would have been a layup…The only way to make sense of the disparate treatment of Trump and Biden on classified documents is that the Biden Justice Department special counsels’ decisions are political.”

Ike would never make my list. Because of his stupidity and weakness and naiveté millions of people in the Iron Curtain had to suffer decades of occupation and Soviet rule unnecessarily.

I know the Ike sycophants will claim it was necessary to “avoid a war” with Russia but that is utter BS, Eisenhower could have saved 70% plus of the Iron Curtain territory had he been less accommodating to the Soviets and if he hadn’t been so naive as to believe their promise of “free elections”.

For this reason his legacy and Presidency will be forever tarnished. I rank him as one of the 10 worst Presidents in history. Sue me.

Vic is right. Eisenhower was elected because he was a famous General, not because he had any vision or agenda. And yes the expansion of government from the Roosevelt-Truman years continued unabated during his terms.

Nah, I don’t agree with that at all.

There was that letter by 52 “intelligence experts” claiming that it was Russian disinformation.

Polls show that if the contents of the laptop were fully known, it would certainly have made a difference in swing states.

So yes, it impacted the election.

But it does not prove any Deep State, it just proves that people in power use it for their personal agenda, and that many people in power share that agenda.

There is no secret organization, there are just people using their positions to promote a certain agenda which many people in government and in the media share.

Netanyahu cuts Schumer a new a-hole.

I think Schumer’s statements are wholly inappropriate. I think we’re not a banana republic. The people of Israel will choose when they’ll have elections, who they elect, and it’s not something that will be foisted upon us. It’s wrong to try to replace the elected leaders of a sister democracy and a staunch American ally at any time, but especially during the time of war.

Just imagine that, after 9/11, and when you’re in the midst of fighting Al Qaeda, and winning. People would say, some Israeli would say, “Oh, the right thing to do is not to have new elections in America or have President Bush resign.” It’s inappropriate. Shouldn’t have been said. It’s wrong.”

  49. Chicon opened the conversation regarding the censorship case being heard and debated in the Supreme Court today. It’s a huge piece of a larger puzzle the government is erecting to quash the 1st amendment application, as it relates to what is permissible to say, via their definitions of what is misinformation, disinformation or allowed information. Examples of how free speech has already being negatively effected or, altogether roiled, has been the Russian collusion myth, 2020 election irregularities and misgivings, the legitimacy of Hunter’s laptop, and most egregiously COVID propaganda pushed by almost every government agency in this country. If this ruling goes south we are screwed!

Lawyers for Trump and his co-defendants said it has been “impossible” for them to secure a complete appeal bond, which would effectively require “cash reserves approaching $1 billion,” which neither the former president nor his company has.

Trump’s team has approached, without success, around 30 surety companies through four separate brokers as he seeks an appeal bond, and they have spent “countless hours negotiating with one of the largest insurance companies in the world,” according to the filing with the Appellate Division of Manhattan Supreme Court.

Under New York court rules, Trump must post an appeal bond if he wants to avoid New York Attorney General Letitia James moving to collect on the fraud judgment in the state’s favor.

James has said she will seize Trump’s property if he is unable to pay the entire judgment or obtain an appeal bond.”
