  1. That’s a decent poll number for Trump, especially considering it’s from Quinnipiac.

Jay Bratt, representing special counsel office, confirmed the “crime” began that day because as a former president, he was entitled to retain the documents. Cannon again asked for historical precedent as to when a former president or vice president faced charges for similar conduct. Bratt of course said there is none. She added “vice president” on numerous occasions for a reason–Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Mike Pence all skated on criminal charges. Trump is the only one who has not. Cannon: “Arbitrary enforcement…is featuring in this case.” Cannon also addressed the “foreseeability” as to Trump’s awareness he was committing a crime by keeping classified/national defense information. “Given the constellation of what happened before”–meaning no criminal prosecution of former presidents including Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan and vice presidents–Cannon suggested Trump could have reasonably expected he was in the clear.

  7. Vance would make a great VP pick, except his voice would be a loss for common sense in the Senate.

The document trial in FL has appearances of being dismissed, as it should be. Then, it’s expected Judge McAffee in GA is expected to render a decision in the Willis case. With the substantial evidence against her, she should get the hook from further prosecuting the case and be disbarred for unethical behavior.

GF, citizens free press had a headline affirming this choice. However, when I opened the link it was a Utube Fox interview with RFK, who glowingly talked about Aaron Rodgers’s, but then said his formal announcement declaring his VP pick would be made in Oakland later this month. Sorry for the miscue.

It won’t win MN, but maybe there are just enough folks in that state who didn’t hate him when he left office that could whittle the anti-Trump vote down a tad to flip the state.

Vance’s position on Ukraine is a deal breaker for me.

    I won’t vote for a Trump-Vance ticket.

Vance, Vivek, Haley, Gabard are no go for me.

The good news is Vance is not even mentioned at the betting sites.

The only person I really like on the list is Scott. Nobody else.

The VP position is more important to me this time around because of Trump’s age and the fact he can only serve one term.

I supported Vance for the senate (although he was like the 4th choice for me in the OH R primary) but I have since grown to dislike him for his vapid ignorant isolationist rhetoric,

He has evolved into some kind of Paulbot.

You actually know someone who will only vote for Trump because of Vance?

I would really be interested in know what that “demographic” might be.

I am pretty sure all the isolationists and Putin toadies are already voting for Trump.

  38. The Ukraine war cannot be compared to the significance of what was happening in WWII. The Russian/Ukrainian war still remains a conflict about invaded boundaries between two countries, and has shown no signs of metastasizing except in the speeches of those who want to continue aid to prop up this war indefinitely. Because of being distracted by this self-contained war we have allowed alliances to be formed with our enemies (Russia, China, N Korea, Iran), allowed other trade currencies to be used, have depleted our own armaments making us more vulnerable to our enemies, and have wounded our economy maybe beyond repair.

    Like

  39. Also, if Johnson does cave and approve the funding package to Ukraine, with the slim margins he has to retain the House majority, his speakership will be over. It may be terminated anyway, as it will not take much for the Dems to take control - something they already seem to have done when it comes to establishing a firm policy of no funding for Ukraine without first closing the border (IOW stopping the uncontrolled flow of illegals into this country).

    Like

  40. Less than 5% of our defense budget did not wound our nation beyond repair.

Exactly how was the US going to prevent alliances between Russia, China, Iran and North Korea? By the way, China and Russia have hated each other since Ghengis Kahn. China thinks NK is lead by a lunatic and will slap it down if necessary. Russia is fearful of Iran exporting Islamic terror within its borders.

The US is NOT wide open because of aid to Ukraine. It open because Biden wants it open. You refuse to admit this and pretend they are related. They are not.

    Like

  41. Will you ever admit Ukraine funding and securing the US border are separate issues.?

    Like

  42. I’m not going to admit something I don’t believe we need to do, any further than what we’ve already done. Ukraine is faltering under the weight of not having enough men/women who voluntarily want to fight. That’s a big variable neither you nor Jason will factor into carrying on this war. Russia has far more people to draw into their military – thousands of reinforcements who probably don’t want to fight or die either.

I also do realize the futility of trying to leverage our own border security with sending more aid to Ukraine. However, that’s the only arm-twisting we have to slow down the invasion being experienced here. Plus, even though the savings may seem paltry it’s a start in dialing back spending money we are borrowing and paying interest on to the tune of a trillion dollars.

Finally, Zelenskyy will eventually be forced to make concessions in order to stop the concussion of daily warfare and citizens dying. This will be either by aid drying up or the Ukrainian people, themselves, rising up in mass and refusing to be his canon fodder anymore.

Vic, Zelenskyy is the president of Ukraine and does have negotiating means. However, he seems to rebuff any mention of moderating his stances, has cancelled the May elections disallowing any other candidate to win and take another course of action, and puts those in prison who protest or disagree with him. I don’t care how you want to distill what’s happening in Ukraine except to say it’s being led by a leader growing more authoritarian every day. The general he displaced, Zaluzhny, had become more popular than Zelenskyy, and may have run against him and won should those elections were still on the table.
