And then there was Trump…

  1. Trump was not my first or even 10th choice, That said, he will be GOP nominee in the General Election so he will get my vote. I will still vote for Haley in the primary if her name is on the ballot because I don’t believe Trump deserves a coronation. He is also a moron regarding Ukraine and soft towards Putin.

If he wants to win, he has to reach out beyond the Jans and Tinas. In fact, he has to reach out to the voters Jan and Tina hate. But he won’t. Which is why I expect him to lose and it will not be due to fraud.

  2. Perhaps if Haley had reached out to Republicans outside the sweater-wearing, Country Club, Inside-the-Beltway types, she might have cracked 30%.

Her plan seems to have been to tell 2/3 of Republicans they’re garbage, and then offset the loss of votes by gaining suburban moms. Worked swell for Mitt, McCain and JEB!

Nikki Haley has lost almost as many primaries and caucuses as Ron and Rand Paul.

Yep, Trump will leave a lot of votes on the table by being stupid.

But it is what he does.

  5. Zzzzzzzzz Perhaps if Trump wasn’t such an a-hole, he wouldn’t have had to keep fighting to Super Tuesday. If Trump is so great, why wasn’t he getting almost 100% of the vote in what is a re-election campaign for him?

Keep thinking you are more important than you are, Chicon. If Trump relies solely on you, Jans and Tinas to win, he is headed for a landslide defeat and it will not be due to fraud. It will be due to him blindly believing he is greater than he is rather than reaching out to the voters you hate.

  6. He certainly will. He also got a bunch more than the preferred country club candidate.

  7. Republican voters have chosen a candidate in convincing fashion (flawed as he is). Bitter is more bitter than ever.

I hear Lincoln Project is hiring. 😉

  8. 20-40% of Republicans belong to country clubs? Damn. I never met one.

  9. Trump will get my vote for the third GE in a row. Are you really this stupid, Chi?

  10. DeSantis was my first choice. I thought to myself, lets just make this easy and for once have a POTUS race where we didn’t have to worry about our candidate saying something stupid or going off the rails, and lets get ourselves a 1980 or 1984 style blowout. And then we very likely would have 8 years of success and progress.

But the vast majority of Republicans disagreed with me and decided we should do this the hard way and go with Trump and at best get four years out of it–if he can manage to win.

  11. Trump would be wise to select Haley as VP. He is not wise. Both can be true.

I like Tim Scott but I doubt he brings any new voters to Trump. The US already had Obama so a black VP would not pull in many black voters.

  12. Bitter accuses me of thinking I’m more important than I am. The guy whose wing of the Republican Party hasn’t won a Presidential election since 2004 (and has won the popular vote once since 1988) is lecturing others on who has electoral importance. I love this place.

  13. My “wing” of the party? Chi really is this stupid. I have voted for the GOP nominee in every election for every office since 1988. The Pennsylvania Primaries come too late in the calendar to matter in Presidential races. I do not belong to a country club or own a sweater. I have run as a conservative Republican in local and Federal elections. In contrast, Chicon types on a blog that I salvaged.
