So you know – immunity. Judges and prosecutors are immune from criminal prosecution for their official & judicial acts. The members of Congress are immune from criminal prosecution for their legislative function acts. Ask yourself: Why wouldn’t the President also be immune?

this poll is beyond an outlier Texas is not this close, nor will it be on Election Day. They have the Dems right. Biden will get about 42%, Allred 41% but both trump and Cruz will get 53%-55%.
no other poll has it this close.

Same Texas poll with the misfits included release how far off base their sample is:
Biden 37%
Trump 41%
Kennedy 13%

NO WAY in the world that West and Stein grab 6 and 3 in TEXAS while getting only 2 and 1 in CALIFORNIA.

Trump’s favorability polling is significantly improving, and he is way ahead of both Biden’s favorability and his job approval.
Here are the last seven Trump favorable/unfavorable polls:
47/52
46/50
50/47
46/53
45/52
50/49
If Trump continues to hover around 50/50 on this metric, Biden’s path gets much harder.

Just finished marking my primary ballot today. Other than a few categories it was a crap shoot trying to make any meaningful selections. There were so many judicial slots and very little to research as to whom was the best for the bench. The Los Angeles DA, Gascon, is up for re-election, with a total of 12 people seeking the job. I spent a lot of time on this one, as Gascon (a Soros funded souless creature) has to go! I chose a man who dared to challenge Gascon on a legal case, seems well-rounded, centered on victims, and is married to a female detective. Hopefully, will be able to generate some law and order in LA.

I listened to both Biden’s and Trump’s border speeches.
Biden’s content centered around pushing the failed “bipartisan border bill.” He glamorized it like it was the “bees knees” of perfect bills, forgetting to mention it would do little to fix the border flow of illegals, and actually tie the hands of future presidents more to secure the border (obviously done with Trump in mind). The speech was also very staged and controlled, spoken in an indoor setting with grim people standing behind him.
Trump, OTOH, was in an outdoor setting, speaking convincingly about how he handled the border prior to Biden’s presidency. He had a core of border agents present, who also spoke, including the TX governor. It seemed much more authentic and natural than Biden’s performance.

Regarding Trump and Illinois ballot
He is still on it and probably will remain. The Judge seemed to know that.
It’s irrelevant anyway. The only thing that matters are the candidates for delegates on the ballot. Nobody has challenged those pledged to Trump. If they win they can vote for him at the convention if they want.
Much ado about nothing really.

GF – I chose Hatami. He has an interesting bio, working his way thru college, is an advocate for abused children (something needed in this age of gender/trafficking abuse of children), is a dem but one with values. There basically are no conservatives these days in LA county.

Looking at the candidate websites and endorsements, it seems like Hatami is backed by Democrats and Hochman is backed by Republicans.
I take it the consideration would be which one might have the best chance to defeat Gascon in November.
Many people feel the same way about Haley being a better option to beat Biden than Trump.
So, how come it is ok for jan to support a candidate in this race who is being supported and funded by Democrats (over an option who is backed by more Republicans) but it is not ok for others to think about those things in their Presidential vote?

Hatami is definitely a Democrat and Hochman is definitely a Republican. He ran for Attorney General of California as a Republican apparently.
Between those two, if the ultimate objective is getting rid of Gascon, which would be a good thing, then Hatami would appear to be a more viable option in LA County so jan seems to be doing the correct thing strategically in choosing between those two. However, it flies in the face of her anti-Nikki Haley rantings. It is very hypocritical.
Still though, if both of them are still considered too conservative to beat Gascon in a very Democrat county, and there is another candidate who would have the best shot, even if he might be “only a bit better” than the Soros-backed incumbent, at least he is still a “bit better”
LikeLike
In looking at Hatami’s website, he definitely makes clear that he is very “pro LGBTQ+”
So, jan might be mistaken if she voted for him because she thinks he agrees with her on those issues or is somehow going to crusade against transgender people.
If she voted for him because he will be tougher on criminals than the incumbent, then that should be all that matters.
LikeLike
Hochman’s website shows that his issue positions make him pretty conservative. Unlike Hatami, he says nothing about LGBTQEIEIO, etc.
So, Hochman is definitely more conservative than Hatami, but thus might have a harder time in a one on one race against the incumbent.
And while I am sure this has nothing to do with anyone’s vote here, he is also a lot more Jewish than Hatami.

I look at qualities, traits, background, when I choose someone, especially in a conservative-deficit environment like Los Angeles, CA. There is a lot more to consider than what letter one puts next to their name. I liked what I read about this candidate, especially his attention to children, foster care and victim rights, and am still very comfortable with my decision. My opinion of Haley, OTOH, has become more negative as time has gone on. She seems manipulative, self centered, and overly ambitious in her quest for higher office.

Also, I want to take a moment to salute jan for ignoring the advice of Donald Trump in this case and being willing to cast an early vote which I assume she will be mailing in. If Republicans are to win, more of their voters will need to do things like that.

BS.
“Taking advantage” of what exactly? Using VBM to cheat like the Dems?
Won’t work either, Rs don’t control the inner city election process in large population centers like Philadelphia, Atlanta, Milwaukee, Detroit, Phoenix, etc so the “if you can’t beat them join them” doesn’t apply.
Otherwise, Rs voting by mail or early are just cannibalizing their ED vote and even worse, giving the Dems either a a heads up on how many votes they need to win or a better chance to nullify the R votes.
The only thing Rs could try is to have a better ballot harvesting operation. But even then if they do it legally they will be at a disadvantage against those doing it illegally.
VBM, EV, and ballot harvesting is the goose that lays golden eggs for the Dems. The only way to level the field is to do away with it. With Dems in control of legislatures and/or Rs too stupid to see the problem that is not going to happen.
Trump is right. Rs should vote on ED.

“A new Harvard CAPS/Harris poll recently asked, “Do you think Donald Trump is someone who will shake up the country for the better or do you think he is a danger to democracy and will hopelessly divide the country if elected?”
A shocking — and walloping — 65% of Gen Zers polled said Trump would shake things up for the better, while 35% thought him to be a “danger to democracy.”
Every age group except those 65 years and older believes Trump will shake things up for the good, but the Gen Z group went in for Trump by the largest margin.
The good news is that Gen Z has always been expected to pull the donkey lever, and seeing a poll like this gives us hope for the future. The not-so-good news is that these whipper-snappers are the least likely to vote.
Are you sitting down? The poll also shows that Democrats are warming up to Trump. Twenty-nine percent of Democrats surveyed said they either “somewhat” or “strongly” approve of “the job that Donald Trump did as president.” This is up from 14% from a poll taken at the three-year mark of Trump’s presidency in January 2020.
