My proposal for immigration reform is well known here, I have posted it many times.
But it was based on the numbers we had prior to Biden inviting in another 10 million illegals.
My proposal was to combine a border control with real teeth in it that the Dems could not easily ignore (wall where appropriate, electronic surveillance, drones, sensors, seize and deport, etc) with a path to citizenship for the dreamers with certain conditions (quota system per year, no felony arrests, gainful employment for a minimum of 5 years or 2 years of service in military) as well as work permits for the (at the time) 11 million illegals who had no criminal record. All those with criminal records would be deported unless serving time for heinous crimes such as murder or rape.
I understand the argument that if Dems are ignoring immigration laws now why would they respect new ones. But the fact is immigration laws on the books have not been enforced by ANY President, R or D, for decades. So a new immigration policy could be written with much more stringent penalties and requirements for officials in charge of implementing them and much more actual border control.
However, the usual immigration deadenders like NYC and Tina decried my proposals as “amnesty”. And the opportunity was wasted when Rs had a lot more leverage than they now.
So you must presume they must think WE ARE WINNING” because they think doing nothing on immigration is a winning strategy.
The fact this “winning strategy” just got us more sanctuary cities, more sanctuary states, more benefits for illegals and another 10 million illegals is irrelevant to them.
Sometimes when you want all or nothing, you get nothing. And that is exactly what the immigration deadenders got. Nada. Zilch. Zero.
For years I said here that the Dems were one SCOTUS judge or one election away from implementing open borders.

Hard to predict who the Dems will choose at their new POTUS stooge. Probably they will announce someone unexpected so they can appeal to the desire among some voters with both Trump and Biden fatigue.
Someone like Mark Warner of Virginia. Or Shapiro in PA. Someone that 95% of voters have never heard of, making it easy for them to define the candidate to meet the current wishes.
They will focus group everything, and the new POTUS stooge will be defined as checking all those boxes wanted by the focus groups.

2/23 – 2/25 6,224 RV found Trump up only 1, 44/43
2/20 – 2/22 4,000 RV found it tied 42/42.

with regard to immigration I think it would be a tough pill to swallow for working Americans to hand out 11M green cards for those who have come illegally. It’s going to affect the labor market, though I don’t think it will have the affect on wages most thibk. I do not believe it will depress them, I think it will actually help as all the laborers who are working “off the books” for low salaries will be subject to the current laws.
some claim it will add revenue to the treasury in the form of income tax, but I don’t believe many will qualify for high enough brackets to be overall contributors
with that said, the “kick them all out crowd” are just dreaming. It’s never going to happen. We have to come up with some criteria that makes it somewhat fair, maybe limiting it to those who’ve been here 5 years and found employment.
those who have come in the past two years should have to go back, with the idea that they do get to the front of the line to apply for legal visas if they have worked and have ties here.
it’s very complicated to say the least, but treating it as a zero sum game on both sides is not tenable.

I support an immigration program that would:
Reinstate a working, user-friendly e-verify system, fining employers who hire illegal workers.
Finish the border wall or repair it where needed, augmenting it with electronic surveillance, drones etc.
Hire more border patrol with powers to patrol and return illegals rather than babysit them. Reinstate DNA tests to reduce one aspect of child trafficking.
Reinstall Trump’s policies, such as remain in Mexico, as well as the partnerships created with Mexico and Central American countries discouraging illegal border passage.
Create a better immigration process for those seeking legal entrance. Incentivize the legal way vs coming here illegally. Reform chain immigration, making it more difficult. More oversight over expiring visas.
For long term DACA participants, ones who have clean records, employment, who basically have become productive “citizens,” grant a viable pathway to citizenship.
Ease work permits for seasonal workers.
Have policies recognizing the rights of citizens rather than adding more giveaways and leniency to those here illegally.

I forgot to include the fine employers who willfully hire illegals. That HAS TO BE part of any immigration program. We can not put everything on the people coming here. If they are offered jobs then they are not alone in doing something wrong. It will also discourage hiring illegals, which will dissuade illegal immigration.
BTW – I have to say, that your proposal is very sound and very reasonable.

That is why I believe a system where we fine HEAVILY employers of KNOWN illegals is a good start to “sending them back.” Natural attrition will take place and many will go back. I think putting together programs for the “dreamers” with a much more narrowed down definition of a “dreamer” is a good start. You are not going to get 11M back, much less the 20M that are actually here now. But, if you can get a portion to go back, and then create a LEGAL way for them to return if they have a job, and have held one for some time, etc, that is a way to make it work.

The immigration battle is already lost. Trump is not going to mass deport illegals, no President will. There is no political will in the country for that.
The fact is the vast majority of illegals here are hot going anywhere. Some of the most recent one that evaded registration and some criminals might get deported but it will be in the thousands, not millions. Deportations at best will be along the margins, no illegal established here or with citizen family members will ever deported.
The immigration issue was lost because of immigration deadender morons like NYC and Tina, who for the last 20 years have been bleating about “enforcing current immigration laws” while 20 million illegals invaded the country. I have been asking for 20 years “when will current immigration laws be enforced” and they never had an answer. They thought by doing nothing they were winning, while in fact the Dems thanked them for their stupidity and let millions more in.
The most that can be hoped for now is to stem the flow, deport the most undesirable, and try to push back the move towards citizenship and voting rights the Dems will try to impose. Even those modest goals will be challenging.
