BS. He did nothing of the sort. There was nothing wrong with having an alternate slate IN THE EVENT the official elector slate was thrown out. There is also nothing wrong in advocating for Pence not to certify the election and nothing wrong in contesting the results.
…..there is nothing wrong opposing an election, having stand-by electors, or to suggest your VP send results back to states asking for such (before Congress changed the law later in 2021) if you are an Al Gore, Hillary Clinton or any other dem contender. However, if you are Trump the “law” abruptly changed, and he became subject to election interference trials with fines and the possibility of life-ending years in jail. It appears fairness and equal justice for opposing party tactics has nothing to do anymore with our election process. Sad but true.
I have become curious as to why JeffP stated “CPAC had lower numbers again.” Following CPAC, in fact, has been where I’ve been – listening to an international quorum of people intelligently discussing global/domestic problems and solutions with each other. Bukele, Melei, are speakers, along with Dr. Robert Malone, who I have the highest respect for his stance on vaccine harms. Malone registered for the event with a political 2009 refugee from Bolivia, who became a citizen volunteering at this event. He wrote the following about a conversation he had with her:
“As she was registering me, I asked her and the other volunteers about what the turn-out for CPAC is this year. The group of registrars all agreed – this year may be the biggest CPAC ever. The reason why? According to Eva and her colleagues,
People of hispanic origin in the USA are pissed off and scared.
And they are coming to CPAC to get involved and to support Trump. Because this group of Americans see Trump as the one candidate who will secure the border. Who will fix the economy. Eva believes that the number one reason hispanics in this country legally have come to the USA is for safety. To escape the drug lords, gangs, lawlessness and corrupt governments. Many have been persecuted, like Eva was – in the country of their birth.”
Out of respect for Vic, I will try to remain civil with Jan. We both believe it is better for Trump to win than Biden. Trump is only getting my vote to stop Biden or his replacement. Jan believes Trump is a savior.
Well…you see Bitter and all, that is what a big Tent is all about. We can agree to disagree, but at the end the good of the many outweigh the good of the few and we vote the right way.

The fake electors charges are equally dumb. The election was disputed. There were multiple election cases goin on. If Trump had won those suits (and won the state), if the slate of electors was not sent, they would not have been “counted”.
I am clarifying positions on 3 topics that invariably are controversial, initiating distorted, heated back-and-forth responses. So, don’t expect any more wordy explanations from m, to the contrary, that end up being misquoted or ignored anyway:
1. I don’t enumerate Trump defects, as others do a good job of that. My Trump vote was first a binary one in 2016, and in 2024 it’s based on his policy record and strengths to withstand brutal attacks from the dem opposition. Saying I consider him a “savior,” or exhibiting “cultish” behavior for supporting him, is “noise” nonsense.
2. My opinion on the Ukraine war is constituted on seeing it as one siphoning off resources needed here for our own protection, involving our own national security vulnerabilities and unsustainable debt. Interjecting other inflammatory variables like supporting Putin, having no empathy for the Ukrainians etc. only damages the exchange of serious conversations here,
3. IMO, Nikki Haley has become a useful idiot for the left and those wanting to keep the power they already have. She is essentially sabotaging the R party, being kept alive primarily by dem donors, and appealing to cross-over dem primary voters who will then vote for Biden in the GE. Whatever her prior conservatism was has been substantially diluted in how she is conducting herself today. And, those railing against Trump’s history of donating 12 years ago to Dems, while voicing crickets on Haley’s entwining herself now with Dems in order to win, is beyond being hypocritical.
I don’t think the adoption curve is that of a parabola but actually a sideways S, and people can’t yet grasp the other side of the S yet as destroys the fiat ponzi scheme.
1. Jan called Trump Braveheart. She did not list accomplishments in detail.
2. No money is being “siphoned off” from spending on domestic needs and sent to Ukraine. If $0 was spent on military aid to Ukraine, Biden would still not secure the U.S. border or direct more money to solve issues the GOP cares about.
3. Trump’s sin of funding hard-left Dems for decades and the damage those Dems did can never be absolved. Politics is a blood sport. If Dems want to waste money on Haley, they are just following St. Rush Limbaugh’s playbook. Breaking News – If Trump receives no Democrat votes, he will be crushed.
The amount of money the U.S. spends on Ukraine aid translates to a little over 5 PERCENT of the total budget allocated for Defense. This money must go towards the Department of Defense.
2. Of this 5 PERCENT that is spent from our military budget on Ukraine, 90 PERCENT of THAT is spent WITHIN THE UNITED STATES. It goes to building or replacing weapons for the United States Armed Forces to protect the United States and that also of course creates many jobs for a lot of Americans.
3. The weapons we are sending to Ukraine would not be as effective in protecting America than the ones we are building or replacing them with for our own use.
4 Another fact is that European countries, combined, are sending TWICE the amount of aid to Ukraine than the United States is.
5. If Ukraine loses because the U.S. has abandoned it, that could mean China will take over Taiwan. It could also mean that Putin will move into a NATO country such as Poland or the Baltics. Some think Putin can be trusted and he won’t do that, but can we be sure?
6. Even if Putin does not go into any other country but simply takes over Ukraine and installs a puppet government, would there be any doubt as to what he would do to the people there? Is there any doubt how many men he would execute? How many women and children he would have raped and tortured?
There should be no room in the Republican Party for apologists of Vladimir Putin. Stopping him now is a foremost national security matter for the United States.
There is an old saying called “pennies on the dollar.” We are virtually spending pennies on Ukraine now as compared to the amount of money we will have to spend if the U.S. is fighting a shooting war against Russia. No Americans are dying now fighting for the U.S. against Russia. Why would we want to take the chance of having to send them to fight Russia when what we are trying to do now in helping Ukraine is so much smarter and so much cheaper?
There are people in America who used to vote for Republicans and some also donated money to Republicans
Many of those people stopped when Donald Trump took over the Republican Party. Some from the beginning in 2016. Some before the 2020 election. Some after that.
Since November 2016, Republicans have been getting regularly beaten by Democrats in all sorts of elections.
People who left the Republican Party or who no longer vote for some Republicans because of Trump prefer Haley to him for obvious reasons. They are supporting her primary candidacy and many are also donating money to her.
Why is it a bad thing to win back voters/donors that you have lost?
Based on recent history, Trump is not going to win without those people and Republicans up and down the ballot across the country will also suffer by association.
ok, so its incredibly clear that the current anonymous on this page are two very different people;
One is the jackass Bunu who hasn’t had a date since Ron Paul was sane…so never
The other actually made a very interesting and valid argument on the Ukraine, one I have been making for the past months. That they “military aid” actually ends up coming back here in the form of building new weapons, equipment, etc, which actually means more jobs, more tax dollars getting paid to the coffers, etc.
Good Anonymous – Big Tent, Big Tent, Big Tent…but those voters who left because of Trump, also need to put on their big boy/girl pants and come back because the damage being done by the left is bordering on irreversible.
Its a two way street. They should be welcome back, but they should also be accepting of Trump.
TBH, I actually believe he has a path to winning. Remember the $40 pot of Chicken Soup.
My wife and I like watching Shark Tank. It is humbling to realize how little 2 lawyers know about business. Of course, I am sure there are many great business owners who know little about law.
I keep waiting for Vic to be an investor on the show. Maybe he can replace Mark Cuban.
I wonder if anyone reads these last posts. Regardless:
“To live is not to breathe but to act. It is to make use of our organs, our senses, our faculties, of all the parts of ourselves which give us the sentiment of our existence. The man who has lived the most is not he who has counted the most years but he who has most felt life.”

Re: “aid to Ukraine”

Too bad Trump is a moron regarding Ukraine. So Haley will get my primary vote.

Haley would be a return Bush era Neoconservative policies. I
She would be a disaster for the republican party just like when Bush led the party to a democrat supermajority of 60 senators and an Obama landslide.
Her “Make America normal again” means make fake wars and real American deaths normal again. It’s also oddly similar to Biden’s campaign mantras.

The world is s dangerous place. Haley realizes that. Trump can’t even call Putin what he is – a KGB killer.
I am sure that this Anonymous poster was fine with Reagan calling the Soviet Union the Evil Empire. It was then and Putin’s Russia is now.

Biden is a bigger threat than Putin though.
You don’t want a dementia patient running the nukes or his woke cabinet ministers.
And Biden is a HUGE upgrade from GWB so that’s not saying much!

ok, so its incredibly clear that the current anonymous on this page are two very different people;
One is the jackass Bunu who hasn’t had a date since Ron Paul was sane…so never
The other actually made a very interesting and valid argument on the Ukraine, one I have been making for the past months.

Biden is down to 28% chance of being President on betting sites.
So if you put $100k on him winning you can currently get about $360k.
Tempting. If he wins I would have a $260k profit to ease the pain.
If he loses I might even get a chunk back in lower taxes over the next 4 years.
