I once had to go before a judge who had the same last name as a town and a road near York. When I walked into court, he was talking to the opposing counsel about their last round of golf together. The judge said, “How was the drive from Philadelphia?” I had no chance of things going my way.
Bitter got out of his car with the “deplorables suck” and “if you don’t live in Radnor you ain’t shit” bumper stickers holding a cup of Wahwah monkey excreted bean coffee and then asked the bailiff to wipe his seat before he could sit down. When the judge asked how the ride was from Philly, Bitter said “it took me almost 2 hours to get to this sh-thole, can we hurry this up my wife is throwing a wine and cheese party for the flower show committee and I can’t be late.”
Not sure the election in NY was that much of a “bellweather”. The R was a completely unknown black Ethiopian woman with a heavy accent running against a well known Dem with at least a reputation for being a moderate. The snowstorm depressed the ED vote and George Santos called the R a “Dem lite” and said he wouldn’t vote for her.
I would think Santos saying he would not vote for her would be a plus.”
Nah, I am sure there are quite a few people in the district that think he shouldn’t have been expelled and followed his lead. Probably enough to keep the R from winning. I think his endorsement would have been worth another 4%.
The stupidity of this expulsion vote is just mind boggling to me. The Dems were gifted this seat and all they had to do is bully the Rs to expel him. You know when Dems would have expelled their own member without a conviction or even with one? Never.
If voters cared about lies 80% of Congress would not be there. Is Santos a bigger liar than Adam Schiff? Jamaal Bowman?
If I lived in the district I would have voted but still been sympathetic to him. But I can see where at least a small percentage would follow his lead. And 4% is a small percentage.
I actually agree with Bitter and Jason, for a change. Expelling Santos was deserved but not a timely move, considering the slim R House margins and the fact he would not be running for re-election. Also the R candidate was a former democrat, a virtual unknown person, and refused to deal with DJT in an area where he is popular with the base. For example, there was a mutual endorsement between Santos and Trump, who then won by 8 points. A more post mortem analysis of yesterday’s NY race is that the dem ran as a center right candidate, was well known, there was an intense ballot harvesting effort via the unions, and the snowfall actually had little to do with the low turnout and dismal Republican performance.
”That the isolationist Putin lovers will be upset?”
That taunt is getting overused and old. Most people against further aid to Ukraine do so because of debt reasons, and how the money is urgently needed for issues in this country. If Vic’s call for unity is heeded, then constantly needling with misinformation is not a good path forward.
The longer Ronna Romney delays her resignation the ability to begin damage assessment is delayed. However I don’t think that will begin until November 6th.
I have received a text every day this week for money from the RNC and Trump. I gave in 2016 and 2020. Not this time… I am looking for a STOP permanently option.
I agree JeffP about the RNC comment. I personally, though, don’t give to big organizations or PACs, and instead directly donate to individuals I see as having positive policies. This includes DJT, who i ideologically support but don’t give money to.
Bitter, I have never felt Biden and company would voluntarily protect the border by increasing funding to do so. However, money spent on Ukraine, when they have so many internal problems of corruption, more unrest among their people, scrambling of government officials and the military, seems senseless to me. Also, it’s money we are borrowing, not off-setting and only increasing our own trillions of dollar of unsustainable debt.
For the last time, a good amount of the “aid” going to Ukraine in this bill is not cash, but military equipment, made in the USA, by USA companies, with materials made in the USA, manufactured using USA labor…etc, etc.
A lot of that “aid” will go right back into the US economy in the form of jobs and spending to…wait for it, wait for it…build military equipment, made in the USA, by USA companies, with materials made in the USA, manufactured using USA labor”
get it.
The Pauliac induced aversion to the USA having allies outside our borders, and to participating on a global scale has to end. This is a global world. What happens in another country will eventually affect us.
Jason’s post mortem on the race in NY-3 is correct. The R candidate was unknown, a true former D, who did not connect with anyone in the district. If Zeldin had run he would have won the district by 6% easily (he carried it during the gubernatorial race by 11%.
Suozzi had won this district 3 times before, by almost the same exact margin btw 54%-46%, so actually this candidate did no worse than anyone before her. The fraudster Campos (who should NEVER have been expelled since hes not been convicted of anything) won this seat because of Zeldin, as voters who went for Zeldin 282K – 210K…which was an exact flip of the 2018 election where the Dem carried the district 282K – 202K for the R).
Here is another “intended/unintended” consequence of having 10 to 20 million more illegal aliens in the U.S.–almost all living in big cities.
When the census is taken in 2030 this will result in big cities being artificially gaining more than Electoral College votes than what SHOULD be their representation.
Big advantage to the big cities, i.e. the number of Dem votes in congress due to the artificially inflated populations within the big cities. Expect the number of whacko Squad Members to increase in the House of Reps.
I have not seen anyone else bringing the is issue to light.
Vic – You are wasting your time. Jan and Tina have no interest in challenging the isolationist nonsense, Russian propaganda, and Gateway Pundit conspiracy theories. Jan believed that a Democrat Billionaire is her Braveheart.
Mike Turner might be the key to getting the Ukraine/Israel/Taiwan aid passed in the house. If he and a few other Republicans join the Democrats, it can be put on the floor for a vote.
VBM is not going away. We either find a way to compete or fail. Both can be true.
I have always been against voting on any other day than Election Day. However, if VBM could be limited while early in-person voting is expanded, it is worth discussing. Again, I do not support VBM or increased EV but the rules changed in too many places to ignore. Absentee ballots used to work when a reason was required.
”Jan believed that a Democrat Billionaire is her Braveheart.”

General Flynn asks if they will admit they did a coup to take down Trump and Flynn?
Don’t forget that John Durhom found that the FBI had no right to open an investigation into Trump in his findings.
The FBI used the CIA’s spying for it’s rational to investigate Trump.
and who arranged for the spying?
it was Obama and Biden in the Oval Office, January 5th, 2017 when the plan into effect.
Why did they raid Maro A Lago: to get back to documents that Trump declassified on this entire coup.
Then they blamed Trump for it all and tried to put him in jail.
Biden recently railed at his own DOJ as ton why they failed to prosecute Trump early and get him into jail before the 2024 election
