I am thinking about another possible improvement to the polling averages chart. I am thinking about back-highlighting the numbers that are within the margin of error. This way, the numbers for WI, PA, MN and ME would be backed in yellow signifying more clearly that at present, MI and NV are outside the margin of error, and so Trump’s path to 270 is currently outside the margin of error.

Any thoughts on it? Would it be too busy? Is that obvious now without any more color?”

    Do it.

If someone doesn’t like it tell them to GFTs.

“Despite a growing economy and little opposition for his party’s nomination, President Joe Biden confronts a dissatisfied electorate and a challenging political climate nine months before he faces re-election, according to a new national NBC News poll.

Biden trails GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump on major policy and personal comparisons, including by more than 20 points on which candidate would better handle the economy. And Biden’s deficit versus Trump on handling immigration and the border is greater than 30 points.

The poll also shows Trump holding a 16-point advantage over Biden on being competent and effective, a reversal from 2020, when Biden was ahead of Trump on this quality by 9 points before defeating him in that election.

And Biden’s approval rating has declined to the lowest level of his presidency in NBC News polling — to 37% — while fewer than 3 in 10 voters approve of his handling of the Israel-Hamas war.

All together, these numbers explain why the poll shows Trump leading Biden by 5 points among registered voters in a hypothetical 2024 general-election matchup, 47% to 42%. While the result is within the poll’s margin of error, the last year of polling shows a polling shift.”

  19. I was thinking this morning about the kvetching people do about Trump’s past in donating to democrats, as well as his moral playboy failings.

Then I look at Nikki Haley and how some hold her up as a good VP pick because of her “conservative” bonifides, fundraising abilities, attraction to moderates and indies, and moral character. Somehow there is blind spot as to how she is primarily being funded by democrats, has had multiple infidelities outside of her marriage, how even her SC peers are not supporting her election, and yet she continues to be a Republican spoiler by insisting on staying in the race through Super Tuesday (depleting funding that could go to other GE purposes).

Nikki Haley is actually a Republican and a conservative. Trump is not and never been a conservative (of any type, not fiscal or social, of which Nikki is both) and rented out the R because it was convenient, he was a liberal Dem most of his life.

No amount of Janzam BS and lies changes that.

    Like

  21. Vic, it’s not BS. You’re evaluating Nikki Halley on her past performance and illusions of conservatism. She is broadly considered an ambitious sell-out, considers Hillary Clinton a role model, and is running after democrat support and money to keep her election gig alive.

In contrast DJT was a democrat most of his life, but openly admired and donated to Reagan, as well as other prominent Dems in which he criticized for doing. He now is demonstrably a populist, receives most of his money and support from working and middle class people, and more recently, because of being a frontrunner, has attracted big donors leaving RDS and other candidates who have left the competition.. I wish he didn’t have all the legal and personality baggage attached to him. But, overall, he is the best and most reliable politician to at least redirect us out of our rapid descent into global authoritarianism. I also add that his record on controlling the border, calming the ME via his Abraham Accords, keeping Russia and Chinese aggression at bay, regulation cutting benefitting small business, and increasing energy production are far more than what Halley has ever done for this country.

  22. Donald Trump did not admire Ronald Reagan his entire life.

He donated the maximum amounts to Jimmy Carter and Walter Mondale and said he voted for them.

In 1987, Trump took out full page newspaper ads attacking Reagan’s position on trade.

Years later, Trump said that Democrat Presidents were better on the economy than Republicans and said that Bill Clinton was a much better President than Reagan.

    Like

  23. Vic, lies are not telling the truth. All of DJT’s first term policies are in the books and factual. Halley is nothing more than a conservative mirage in your mind. Just because you’re tagged and graded as conservative doesn’t necessarily make you one. Again, she gushes over the likes of Hillary Clinton, has garnered most of her primary votes from non-Republican factions, and is going to fund raisers given by billionaire democrat donors. Give me a break on your overview of her! Perhaps it is you lying to yourself.

  24. Where did Nikki Haley gush over Hillary Clinton? She said she was so opposed to the politics of Hillary Clinton, she was inspired to run for office to oppose them. That is hardly gushing.

Now, Donald Trump definitely gushed over Hillary Clinton and at one point openly said he supported her for President.

Finally, the idea that a Trump supporter is going to attack Nikki Haley over “infidelity” (were there is no actual evidence) is a bit hard to believe.

  25. Trump never donated to Ronald Reagan. The first positive statement Trump ever made about Reagan would have occurred in 2015, when Trump started running for office as a Republican.

  26. I didn’t say DJT admired Raegan “all his life.” But he did see Raegan’s policies as being productive, and at one point offered him his plane for some kind of political event. Lots of people liked Bill Clinton as he was the beneficiary of the dot com explosion and great economy with little debt. I think Trump looks less at party affiliation than at overall performance and positive contributions made by a man/woman to the prosperity and well being of the country.

  31. Bitter, Trump and the Clintons ran around in the same social circles, earlier on in life, when he was a democrat, accounting for many of his favorable comments about them. Other Dems, who have since re-registered and left the dem party (like Trump has done), have said the reason they did so was that it’s no longer the same party. Instead of being for the worker, the current dem party is more Wall Street, multi national corporations types, which is why there has been so many demographic shifts in both parties. It’s the union bosses, for instance, supporting Biden and the workers voting for Trump. More blacks and Hispanics are crossing over, and beleaguered people, like from East Palestine, who are finally seeing the phoniness of the current day dem.

Anyway, argue and pile on with each other, your old and sometime facetious opinions about Trump. He will either falter and lose through voter ill will, dem fraudulent ploys, successful lawfare practices or something worse…or win because of “the people” standing by him and wanting to deter a Marxist take-over. Also, I bet “anonymous” is either Robbie or Jason?

Instead of your absurd spin, why not just admit that Trump is a Democrat Billionaire opportunist with no ties to conservatism or Reagan? Not being as bad as Hillary and Biden does not make him a conservative. The main conservative contribution Trump made was in appointing Federal Judges. Of course, it has to be considered in the context of the far left Dems he funded for decades who opposed appointments of conservatives.

As I’ve already pointed out, Reagan was one of the worst president’s this country has ever had. Unfortunately for him this is almost 100% due to his VP pick.

Reagan sentenced the country to over 40 years of darkness under the Bush crime family. On top of that is it only because of Trump that ended this by stopping Jeb who wanted to start third wave Bushism. Hence another Trump card for Trump is that he was the one who ended it all.

Beyond that Reagan didn’t even appoint good judges appointing to liberals to the Supreme Court and only one conservative unlike Trump who appointed three conservatives.
