F–k off, Bitter, for elevating my stress level. I have some work to turn in today, Thursday, and I opened the thread and it said “It’s Friday”. For at least 5 seconds I thought I was royally screwed.
I borrowed my work habits from Paul Masson: “never turn work in before it is due”.
“I would suggest that adopting a general election tone is what you do at this point, and here’s why I say this. This was actually a fairly good night for Joe Biden. When you look at our voter analysis, only 10% said, ‘I would not vote for Joe Biden if he’s the nominee.’ He won a plurality of voters who said he was too old, he won a majority of voters who were upset about the Gaza war.”
McEnany also cited some potentially concerning data about Trump’s prospects in the general election should he fail to unite the Republican Party:
When you look at the Republican Party, seven in ten Nikki Haley voters said, ‘I would not vote for Trump.’ There was a Des Moines Register poll, 43% said, ‘No, I wouldn’t vote for Trump.’
If I’m Trump, I sit back and I exclusively focus on the general election. I take the posture of a presumptive nominee. I focus on, number one, uniting the party, and number two, winning the independents, which Nikki Haley won 55-39%. That’s what I would do.
Nikki Haley, I mean, the closest margin is 30% in the states ahead. For all intents and purposes, he’s the presumptive nominee.
Trump, predictably, was unimpressed by her advice.
“I don’t need any advice from RINO Kayleigh McEnany on Fox,”
Loudermilk said that his investigation will target security failures on the days including the erection of a gallows by Trump supporters, something that has been used in Biden campaign adds.
‘He’s using images of the gallows that was erected — that’s something we’ve been investigating. It was erected at 6 in the morning — how in the world did it stay up all day long? Right with Capitol Police there? That is something that at first sight, somebody should have been taking down,’ Loudermilk said.
‘We do know there was plenty of intelligence that there was going
Breaking: President Biden has announced that an insurrection is underway in the state of Texas. Federal troops will be readied to advance on the Lone Star state to put down this rebellion. More to follow.
I remember that wes was incensed that I said those rickety gallows were a prop and couldn’t have been used to hang anyone. He was adamant they were intended to hang Mike Pence.
Of course that “Breaking” news announcement about Texas was made up. The reality is Biden probably could not pronounce “insurrection” without botching it.
So women can now participate in a festival that they were never banned from participating in. Apparently, the goal of touching a naked man for good luck did not appeal to them before now.
I don’t care what stupid stuff he posts on social media. Just pointing what is more important to him than supporting Texas and actually leading. Kind of a big issue to highlight if you’re running for President.

Yeah, he attacked me a lot the last few threads of the old HHR. He couldn’t deal with the fact I didn’t think Trump ordered any insurrection or that the gallows prop was not really built to hang Mike Pence. But for some reason I did not feel compelled to respond, I just kept wishing him well, maybe that irritated him even more. He was more used to me telling him to GFH.
It still bothers me he died so young. Colon cancer is a killer, but he didn’t seem close to dying yet, makes me think there was some medical screw up for him to die so suddenly.
Possibly. I won’t ask his widow but I suspect that he may have done it himself. His stepfather had very recently died and it devastated him. While his death was very sad, I hope it was an unexpected medical complication.
I went to the Friends of The Headgehog Report FB page. Not many posters ever joined. I don’t think NYC was there.
I actually tried to find out NYC’s real name by researching stories regarding his shooting in Newark. No luck. Apparently, that search brings up a lot of results.

It’s a real shame that Dave W let the hedgehogreport.com domain name go. It could have been redirected to this web domain. It’s only like $10 or $20 per year. But it was bought already.
That was a good thought, the shooting. But there are probably several a night in Newark, and we don’t know the date, he took weeks to tell us. His real name must be Michael and I think he said he lived in Brooklyn, didn’t remember the warehouse was in Newark.
If HHR will put me up at the Four Seasons in NYC for a couple nights I can do some investigative work.

Wouldn’t Trump do the same thing exactly if the situation was reversed?

Now What Do I Do?

So what will happen to this website.
When I first started this site, I did it mostly as a hobby. It was a way to write my thoughts down publicly and I figured it would be intersting to see how my opinion changed over time. Then I started to keep track of the polls and that is when the site really took off trafficwise. At first, it was just a way for me to keep track on the progression of the race and thought it would be cool to go back after the election and see how the race changed over time. For instance, here is what I posted in early January when it appeared Howard Dean was running away with the Democratic nomination just after a new poll came out in NH.
Not that Kerry isn’t already toast, but can you imagine how embarassing it will be when he falls below Clark in NH. At this rate, it should happen by Monday of next week.
Oops. Not only did he win the Democratic nomination, he came pretty darn close to winning the presidency as well.
As far as this website is concerned, I won’t be going anywhere. While my posting will be somewhat less frequent than the 15-a-day posting I reached in the past two months, I still plan on this being a daily site. I will still comment on national politics but I will also shift more to Maryland politics, which is what I had originally planned for this site. Except for the US Senate race (which was a blowout) and the Congressional races (which were all blowouts), elections during Presidential years are not the biggest thing in Maryland. Off-years, like the upcoming 2006, will have many more competitive elections in maryland. The biggest will obviously be ther Governor’s race between Governor Bob Ehrlich and probable Democratic nominee and current Baltimore mayor Martin O’Malley. But there will also be hotly contested races for the Maryland General Assembly as well as at the Howard County level.
Finally, I appreciate all of your thank yous that you have sent me by email or left in the comments. Again, this is a hobby for me and while the amount of work that I put into it, especially in the last two months, took some time,it was also a lot of fun to do. I am glad you enjoyed my site site and let me also thank everyone else for the many comments you leave on the site. There were times when I actually was just sitting at the computer and refreshing the comments over and over again reading the back and forth between many of the regulars. While it did get testy once in a while and there was a smattering of trolls that would get on some people’s nerves, the quality of the comments usually remained high from people on both the left and the right. I hope everyone feels that I didn’t stifle commentary from either side with my occasional banning of people. I tried my best to remove some of people who were only interested in using inflammatory language and personal attacks or baiting other people, but for the most part I tried to let everyone speak their mind without any censorship. I hope everyone felt that way. While I am a Republican, I don’t mind having people from both sides making comments.
With that long-winded rant, now back to normal blogging.”
I believe the best days are ahead for the HHR. I think this election year will help it grow, and I think it will be helped by starting threads with recent polls like Dave W did. I would be happy to volunteer to log on and post the new threads with polls
Vic and DW – I built the lifeboat. However, lifeboats are not meant to be the destination. Feel free to contact Dave to see how HHR can truly be reborn into something better.
Around the world there appears to be a revolt against globalist policies, movements and candidacies. In France 9 out of 10 people support the farmer protests. Here in the U.S. the populist America First movement is having a respectable showing in the beginning of the primary season, as RDS and Nikki Haley flounder despite having record amounts of money behind them. It’s being reported some of Haley’s mega donors are starting to withdraw their pocketbooks after a failure to capture NH, despite her encouragement for political crossovers to dilute her opponent’s numbers. I think people are just becoming more aware of the policies robbing them of their freedoms and way of life, and choosing alternative populist avenues to resist the siren sounds of polished messaging from the WEF overlords.
The legacy media is going into overdrive trying to act like the border deal is beneficial to sealing the border, when it’s nothing more then a sham and a sell-out. Romney, and other forked-tongue republicans, are at the front of the line lying about how wonderful this “bipartisan” Frankenstein bill is.
”As his war drags on, Zelensky comes off as a loser. In light of the stalemate, his branding of a green T-shirt to make him look like a soldier us now a liability because it reminds people that despite giving Ukraine hundreds of billions of dollars, Zelensky isn’t winning and Putin isn’t leaving.
Also, Putin is stuck in Ukraine making him the dumbass in Donbas. I hardly can fear invasion by a man whose Luhansk Oblast campaign is now in its fourth month. A generation raised on video games has no patience. This means Putin is about as much a threat to the USA as those Murder Hornets were.
Zelensky’s PR man, Simon Shuster of Time magazine, has written a semi-official bio titled The Showman, which acknowledges that Ukraine’s president used his experience as a clown and comedian to sell the war.”
People enthralled with unmonitored, never-ending Ukraine aid, continue to mouth it would be a threat to our national security if we don’t continue with this foolish funding. However, these same people are playing the monkey game of “see nothing, hear nothing, say nothing” in ignoring how dismal this war has become for Ukrainian citizens. War supporter ears and eyes are closed, talking endlessly about women being raped, when the real brutalization going on is the loss of young mens’ lives, families and homes destroyed, while conscription coons run around in the morning, picking up any man going to work and forcing him to die on the front line. Why doesn’t Zelensky hold elections, asking people who have family members perishing, if they want to continue fighting? Yes, Putin should leave, but Zelensky could also stand down to save his people from more death and destruction.
At this stage it becomes a war where “the people” are losing the most — their lives —- and Zelenskyy and Putin are managing and calling the shots for the war. The beneficiaries are corporations like Blackrock, the arms industry, the black market who are profiting from this war.
So question…do folks here think ad dollars and msm will have significant impact on this race? IMO many people are so tuned out of it now. In my mind most people already know who they consider the lesser of 2 evils, and it will essentially hinge on turnout and how much vote rigging occurs. I think social media will be a greater influence than msm or advertising.
I don’t think money spent on ad copy goes that far. We’re in a new era where social and alternative media seem to be attracting eyes. Like you said, GOTV and keeping fraud at bay are important, as well as ballot chasing and targeting votes for your side via keeping accurate data.
Same 🙂 good to be back. Im connected to Walt on FB and someone spoofed my account and sent him a weird request. He contacted me to check it out and then let me know about the new site. Just in time for election year, I’m so glad. I far prefer HHR as my news feed & love that this group w somewhat aligned but still divergent views has stuck together for so long. A rare treasure.
“This power over the purse may, in fact, be regarded as the most complete and effectual weapon with which any constitution can arm the immediate representatives of the people, for obtaining a redress of every grievance, and for carrying into effect every just and salutary measure.”
—James Madison, The Federalist No. 58
How many congressmen rail against Biden’s transgressions yet still vote to fund them?
Again RDS continues to intelligently speak truth to power.
One of my favorite family history trips of many was visiting the homes of Madison, Monroe, Jefferson, Patrick Henry and George Mason in Virginia after reading the Federalist Papers and discussing Federalism together.
By surrendering? You should just say you want Putin to win because that is the only possible result for your plan. Blaming Zelensky rather than Putin for death and destruction is low even for you.
The U.S. military is “weak” overall, according to Heritage Foundation’s 2024 Index of U.S. Military Strength revealed Wednesday.
All branches of the armed services, as well as U.S. nuclear and missile defense assets, are too old, too weak and too unready to deal with multiple major conflicts at once,
Dakota Wood, Heritage’s senior research fellow for defense programs, told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “As currently postured, the U.S. military is at significant risk of not being able to defend America’s vital national interests,” the report states.
Gee, the US military is not able to defend it’s own national interests. However, there are some here pining about the national interests abroad, wanting to send reserve munitions and borrowed money to them, while we are left unable to seal or defend our own borders. Go figure……

Whose war?

The U.S. military is “weak” overall, according to Heritage Foundation’s 2024 Index of U.S.
Go figure……
