Tina – You claimed you liked DeSantis but have trashed his campaign since the first day. You have been all-in for Trump since he came down the escalator in 2015 and never wavered.
I’m sitting back watching this circus prosecution of Trump in Atlanta by a totally corrupt political hack, and I just shake my head. How in the hell can this kind of thing happen in the United States of America? One thing is evident to me now. These partisan hacks like Willis and Smith are racing against the clock to secure convictions by midsummer and it is beginning to look like their hoped for timelines aren’t going to be met. Here’s the deal. If they don’t get convictions by mid-summer, getting a conviction of Trump in the middle of the fall campaign just isn’t going to fly. That is going to look waaaay too banana republic like to have any credibility. Trying to throw an opposing major political party nominee in jail during a fall Presidential campaign doesn’t pass the smell test regardless of what you think about Trump. We have never in the history of this country chosen to jail a political opponent rather than defeat them at the ballot box….and, furthermore, the ridiculous efforts to get his name thrown off the ballot is going to be crushed 9-0 by the Supremes. It has to be. Democrats have waaay overplayed their hand on this legal warfare stuff.
Ron DeSantis is done. He has burned through tons of cash, alienated many in the populist movement. The only thing left is a graceful exit and hopefully gaining insight into what went so wrong.
Nikki Haley is also done, without a possibility of becoming allied into an R administration should their nominee win. Her “conservative” image has become mired down in revelations regarding her leanings towards globalism along with elite corporate ties with China. Any of her tawdry affairs or BLM missteps are small, in comparison to what is being revealed as her true stances being an elusive, wavering enforcer of many beneficial American policies.
The 2020 election fraud is still being scrutinized. An election expert, by the name of Halderman, broke into a Dominion Voting Machine with a pen, in front of Judge Judy Totenberg, presiding over an election fraud case in Georgia. Right after the 2020 election Halderman was commissioned to write a report about the efficacy of these machines. When it was done, it showed all kinds of vulnerabilities and was then instantly sealed by the court until 2023. Hopefully this personal court presentation will help make needed headway into throwing these machines out.
The annual Davos meeting of the world’s elite was infiltrated by people like President Milei of Argentina and a representative from the Heritage Foundation. Both men attacked the actions and ultimate goals of the global elite, causing Krauss Schwab to walk out during Miley’s speech. It is the rising up of populism who is pushing back on the totalitarian extremes the WEF wants permanently established across the globe. Here in the U.S. it’s the wave of populist strength, expressed by the MAGA party, that is helping to keep the WEF’s terrible policies at bay.
If you don’t understood the establishment politicos and media went after RDS you have no discernment.
1. 50 million of negative adds from Trump and Haley 2X as anyone else.
2. Trump collaborates with MSM against him.
3. Consecutive media gave Trump a free pass and trashed RDS.
4. Lawfare sympathy vote.
5. Personality cult.
The only thing I have to say is that the GOP primary voters are stupid enough in losing with Trump, than a having a chance to win with a young leader who ran on the issues.
I can’t have enthusiasm for the illusion of the rainbows and unicorns of Trump leading the GOP in 2024 to any kind of success.
Excellent and classy closing message, but I wouldn’t expect anything less by such fine people as @RonDeSantis and @CaseyDeSantis.
A sad day for America. I’m struck by the fear we made the same mistake the currently ascendant generation has consistently made time and time again, and puts us closer than ever to losing this once exceptional country. And this time it was to bypass the most successful Republican politician so far this century, right when we needed somebody as ruthlessly efficient as DeSantis has proven to be.
But alas, we reap what we sow.
289 days from now, I sincerely hope I am savaged by those saying “I told you so” because we won a must-win election, and Trump found a way to reinvent himself to must-win suburban voters who have rejected both him and his brand repeatedly.
You got your way. Good luck. The country needs you to be right.
JeffP, you’ve posted that list before of RDS’s problems to catch a break with his campaign. I respectfully disagree that 1-5 were the real reasons his run was so unsuccessful.
DeSantas’s initiation into his presidential bid was marred by introductory mistakes such as: having to change FL law in order to qualify; being vague too long about running; saying nothing about the unprecedented dem tactics such as the the Mar A Largo raid; his belly flop presidential announcement with Musk; and his obvious mis-assumption that Trump would be taken out of contention by the political indictments created by lawfare tactics.
As for Trump and the media, he has always experienced 90% negative news throughout his political career. But, often Trump just turned the negativity towards him around to belittle his adversaries. DJT basically learned to cope and function in the ocean of domestic and international entanglements, opposition and derision. DeSantis, OTOH, was used to dealing with one state and their problems, along with a friendly legislature to back him up. His inexperience bled through in so many areas of his campaign – from a lousy campaign start-up, to mismanagement of campaign monies some say included illegal commingling of PAC funds, campaign staffing problems, bad optics everywhere he went, and yes a personality that was far from compelling, despite the facts he would throw out during his speeches.
Fundamentally, Trump was not DeSantis’s biggest problem. It was DeSantis himself who got in the way of his own path to be the presidential nominee.
Well, the Republican Party nomination is now signed sealed and delivered. Trump probably disposes of Nikki in NH, and then for sure ends her campaign in SC.
With Trump now the sure Republican nominee in waiting, these prosecutions of Trump by Democratics in blue places will now even look more partisan and desperate. Essentially, they are trying to prosecute the other party’s nominee and that just flat looks bad. It really looks bad. This isn’t Iran or some South or cental American banana republic and most just aren’t going to buy this lawfare. Plays right into Trump’s argument that this is just a concerted effort to work around the free and fair decision of voters in a general election by taking away their options on the ballot. If Democrats want to retain power then the lawfare strategy is looking increasingly like it won’t cut it, and they now need for Biden to drop out and be replaced by another Democrat not named Harris. That’s what they have left.
A 2020 interview just surfaced where Willis pledged not to date subordinates: "We are at a place in society where things happen in people’s relationships – husbands and wives sometimes, there are outside relationships." Yup, we are at that place… https://t.co/q8SkP8cuSx
The world became “global” when they invested sails. The pace picked up and Jan can blame the Wright brothers. America’s economic strength depends upon free markets rather than the tariffs and ruinous trade policies that Trump championed.
It won’t matter by the time PA votes but I will write-in Haley in the primary if she is not on the ballot. She understands that America must stand strong in opposing the KGB killer, Putin.
Trump will get my vote in the GE but it won’t matter. The White House, House and Senate are gone for this cycle. There are not enough Jans and Tinas to win.
There’s a long time until Election Day. Do not discount that people on the margins, including some suburban moms, remember how much food, insurance, and kids items cost under Trump and how they have basically doubled in 18 months.
Tina – You know Bunu is not a Trump fan or a Republican. He is a sad, lonely, anti-Semitic America-hating bastard. He pretends that every movement in the GOP is really inspired by Paulbots. It is delusional.
Vic – Trump won in 2016 because he was lucky that his opponent was the only candidate more hated than him. In 2020, Biden was not as hated as Hillary. In 2024, Biden is lost and out of touch but more pitied than hated.
Won’t Is an absolute. Most likely will not leaves the chance open. I, again, think you discount the importance of what things cost right now…as well as the fact that wirh just 45+k more voted Trump would have won.
I don’t think he will win, but do see a small window.
If he doesn’t this country is lost. Winning in 2028 as more gen Z and millennials come of age won’t happen.
So Trump is very honored to have the support of somebody he attacked and trashed as a disloyal traitor for months. Got it. I know politics is different than real life but I wish DeSantis had said, “I’m out. Do what you want, voters. GFY, Trump.”
Vic – You are an absurdly successful entrepreneur. I am just somebody with opinions. I stand by my prediction. Trump will lose and it will not be due to fraud. I would be embarrassed if I needed him to fight for me
I think it was mostly Jan who fell in line and gave RDS zero credit for being the best conservative GOP Governor who slayed the left in my freaking lifetime 😂
Tina didn’t like his campaign…influencers, made fun of boots and his X campaign start glitch…
Once Trump was indicted, RDS had very little chance regardless of his campaigns best efforts. Not to mention the moderates in the GOP view him more of a threat than Trump and donors paid multi millions to Trump and Haley for attack adds against him.
Based on his Florida policies and record…RDS is still the leader of the conservative wing of the GOP. His approval rating is extremely high. Every honest conservative knows it tonight.
Bitter. – you are a highly successful attorney, well educated, with a wonderful family and wife. You take a second seat to no one
With that said I also think he will lose, but I believe there is a window with those who feel disenfranchised over the past four years and who see the direct result of dem policies in their daily life, and I believe in that lies his chance.
Lies. I said Christie and Haley are conservatives. I did not say they were more conservative than DeSantis. Trump is not conservative.
Because, unlike you, I value America’s strategic position in the world, I will continue to point out Trump is a moron regarding Ukraine.
I hope Trump selects Haley for VP. Even though I would hate to see herself damage her reputation by accepting, it would be hilarious to watch you and Jan try to pretend you love the choice.
Zelensky is right. Trump is a moron regarding Ukraine. Trump will gladly sacrifice the freedom of millions of Ukrainians to appease Putin. Probably within 24 hours to prove him right.
Trump has had a growing following among all demographics since 2016. His one term as president was seen by most people as being a success – the border & inflation under control, a rise in family net incomes, VA improvements, more stability in the ME, killing terrorists, no local terrorist attack, no wars. Many here, though, suck on lemons when they talk about it, and instead parse on how conservative DJT really is. Well, a lot of people outside of this blog see conservatism in terms of giving control of the country back to the people, something the leading contender emphasizes everywhere he speaks. Frankly, RDS couldn’t get his message across to people to create any kind of groundswell of support for him. And, that’s not trashing DeSantis, it’s just saying it like it is. Blaming Trump for RDS falling flat with the public is not only disingenuous but stirs up unnecessary problems in putting together a winning coalition. And isn’t that what most here wanted to happen – win in 2024? Seeing that RDS couldn’t last long enough to win one state in the primary, I think our chances are far better with the one candidate who is enthusing full house crowds to robustly support him for the presidency.
Jan … your attitude sucks…and your full of it…Trump worshippers like you are just much as a problem for the GOP as RINOS in ruining conservative values in the party. Enjoy losing again.
JeffP – my attitude is just fine and fully adjusted to the political reality of today. Your’s, however, needs a reality check. You seem stuck and unable to admit that no matter how much money RDS invested in his campaign he wasn’t able to inspire or light a fire under people, let alone a constituency that would back him in the GE. A winning candidate doesn’t continue to slide in the polls, lose votes in his own state as well as legislator’s endorsements, if he ‘s fully prepared, poised and capable to take on a dem opponent. Get that through your head and stop attacking those who are following this election, not through worshipping a candidate, but through analyzing how their performances stack up to public receptivity and positive results.
Birdbrain touts a new mental competency test that she wants to force Trump to take (likely given by a liberal) so that she can remove Trump from office via the 25th amendment.
They forced Reagan to take HW Bush as VP so they had a nice replacement ready if he didn’t play nice, and of course then we got 40 years of the Bush family after it.
I think if this lady is VP, it’s Mueller 2.0 should he win.

His presidency would be canceled like last time when Mueller was assigned to create a circus

They forced Reagan to take HW Bush as VP so they had a nice replacement ready if he didn’t play nice, and of course then we got 40 years of the Bush family after it.
I think if this lady is VP, it’s Mueller 2.0 should he win.
His presidency ends before it even starts
