Rebrand HHR? GFI (Go For It)

  1. The lifeboat was designed by a lawyer. Like most things designed by lawyers, it has flaws. I kept HHR alive because it was somewhere I felt comfortable going. I have always been interested in political discussions. That did not often happen in my real life. I have come to know many interesting people and met a few of them.

In today’s social media world, HHR is almost as old and close to extinction as Walt. Zing!

I am sure that somebody can do a better job. DW is the polling master. Vic is an absurdly successful entrepreneur and businessman. I am confident in their abilities to carry HHR forward. I will keep this site going until a new one begins. I recommend keeping Hedgehog Report somewhere in the name so the old timers can find it. I hope that I will be allowed to post and not the first one banned.

  7. GOP failed again in VA to get rid of former Governor’s foolish scheme that will destroy the new car industry in Virginia, requiring NEXT year, 2025 that 35% of all new car sales in the state be EVs. Nobody wants these stupid cars, and the dealerships will have to give them away at a loss, and thereby JACK the prices HUGELY on gas powered cars to compensate. But buyers aren’t stupid, they will go to North Carolina and buy new cars, and drive them back to Virginia, and so the dealerships in Virginia will fold.

  31. I’ve been listening to reports from Davos. It seems there is a lot of talk about Republicans, with nuanced references to Trump, taking the presidency, that NATO would once again have to adhere to paying 2% of GDP as a membership fee. Even Jaime Damon seemed cheered by a change of US leadership being a positive. The theme, though, at this annual conference of mega billionaires and power brokers seems to be an ominous one – dealing with censoring the internet and podcasters. IOW, decreasing opposition communication networks that get in the way of their ambitious global agenda.

Also, today the House is expected to vote on a CR that Speaker Johnson formerly vehemently opposed. Tomorrow (Friday) a “Snow Day” is being called. So, I guess this means passage of the CR is expected.

  36. Bitter, I was not involved with national politics, only local ones, until Obama’s transformation politics came around. I’m not big on manipulation in politics, which includes last minute switches etc. it’s hard enough to know the tilt of a candidate’s policies, as most go to the center while campaigning, and then switch to the side they really represent. So, to play games beforehand, to maneuver dishonest votes to achieve a candidate’s victory, is not part of a playbook I endorse.

    Stick with:
The Bidenomics and Bidenflation is hurting and killing Americans.
The open border is hurting and killing Americans.
The disastrous Biden foreign affairs policies are hurting an killing Americans.
The push to end fossil fuels, stop drilling, stop pipeline construction is hurting Americans.
The push to have the government actively push the LBGTQ agenda and push for gender mutilation and bizarre pronouns is hurting Americans and American families.
The Biden administration policies in public education is hurting Americans.
The Biden administration push to have even more government interference and control into and over the lives of American families and individuals is hurting Americans.
The weaponizing of various government agencies for political purposes is hurting Americans.

  42. The people behind these lawsuits – plaintiffs, prosecutors, judges – are vile individuals. The Carroll rape case is nonsense, having a woman not being able to name the year or day it happened; having clerks in the upscale store saying how closely monitored dressing rooms are; no evidence of any wrongdoing. Then you have Jack Smith’s record of abusive prosecutorial behavior in domestic as well as international courts, and Leticia James and the biased judge presiding over her case, or Alvin Bragg’s hollow charges. They all belong more on wanted posters in the post office than occupying any prominent legal positions in our government.

  43. Walt – It would be amazing if Trump did that, but let’s be honest, forget its Trump for a minute, when there is a primary you do not often find opponents talking “nicely” about their fellow competitors. Harken back to the last Dem primary where they were at each others throats (LOL Everyone dumped on Kamala and she still got the VP nod…thank you identity politics).

So while we can want Trump to do just that, I think, in the structure of a Primary its not that uncommon to attack those in your party…BUT…with that said, Trump and his surrogates take it to the extreme.

A little dialing it back would be nice.

BTW I saw an article on why Haley won’t be the VP, I will add it here. It seems hardcore Trumpistas like JD Vance, and the absolute idiot Goetz, don’t want her, because, get this…she will conspire with Republican Senators to have him removed after he takes office so she can be President. LOL….

My guess is she’s the VP

  49. HHR has relatively little traffic visiting or voicing opinions here. Consequently, maybe there will be less awareness how election integrity and the J6 rulings and malicious imprisonments have effected voters. In fact it is these episodes, of profound legal malfeasance, that have stirred people out of their stupor of acceptance, rallying them around the one person who continues to harp on and condemn these events. So, while rettlaws list appropriately lays out our”perilous problems,” it’s the rot eating away our ability to thwart these problems that needs to be addressed first. That rot is the erosion of rules safeguarding fair elections, and government manipulation that strangles robust dissent using legal vengeance to quell it.

  65. JeffP. MTG resides at the far end of the MAGA spectrum. She is considered a firebrand, which has its benefits to highlight points needed to be made. However, it also repels those having more moderating approaches. I actually don’t care for her as much as I used to. Going after people like Chip Roy, because of his endorsement of RDS, for instance is petty and useless. However, I don’t agree with your “paranoid” MAGA assessment at all. It’s a group that’s been endlessly derided, and has either become thin-skinned or openly flaunts the name with passionate optimism.
