A good wrap up of Fat F–k Chrities” candidacy by Stephen Kruiser. I hope we never hear from this pathetic loser media whore blowhard ever again, but it’s probably too much to ask.

“Christie’s was the worst of the Trump tantrums in this Republican field. He was the first of the failed 2016 candidates to endorse Donald Trump. Christie remained a confidante through 2020. Daddy apparently didn’t give him enough hugs, and the relationship soured.

When Christie announced that he would be throwing his hat in the ring for the 2024 race, it made even less sense than the bids of Asa Hutchinson and Doug Burgum. Christie doesn’t even have the ditzy charm of the Democrats’ Marianne Williamson to offer voters.

Chris Christie did provide some value to the Republicans for a very brief time back when people still went to Blockbuster Video to rent DVDs. Whatever usefulness he offered to the GOP had almost completely disappeared by the time he ran in 2016. Vitriol about Trump from an attention-seeking disgruntled Republican is cheaper than a Hunter Biden promise of fidelity these days, yet that’s all Christie brought to the race this time around.

One doesn’t need to run for president to be able to cash in on the “Republican who hates Donald Trump” grift, which makes Christie’s motivation for 2024 even more difficult to ascertain.

Most of the usual reasons for running a fringe vanity campaign don’t apply in this election. The main players didn’t need a higher profile in order to rake in some cash from the party’s money people. Vivek angling for a spot in the Trump administration makes a little sense. Christie had to be in it just because his ego was telling him to run.

Prior to expressing his concern about the hate and division that Trump has created in the GOP, Christie was badmouthing his rival Nikki Haley, per Matt’s post. So, he’s a squish egomaniac who is also full of it.”

Read a few comments by people tuning in to it who described it as a “disaster,” and would not change many minds. I then watched a replay of Trump’s Town Hall on Fox. Apparently fox had 2 other town Hall events featuring candidates, and according to the Fox hosts they were much smaller than the one last night. As for Trump, he was relaxed, informative and answered questions congenially from the audience, staying afterwards to talk and mingle with the crowd – many who said they were caucusing for him.

He texted the enthusiasm for Trump is significantly lower than 2016. Very few flags & signs. Events crowd lines are much lower than ever before filled with diehards that travel a couple hours. He is a leaning Haley supporter but thinks it will be closer than what he polls are saying.

  33. I think JeffP disingenuously tries to nail Trump for his COVID response arising during the early stages of recognizing, reacting to it, creating policy to constrain it, dealing individually with each state’s needs, etc. is so phony. It wasn’t until May of 2020 that even DeSantis started to individuate with his own policies, not having 49 other states to intervene for or change their ways of confronting COVID. Basically, there was a night and day type of responsibility between one governor of one state and a president heading guidance protocols for 50 states. Trump has since said he did not support mandates, would withdraw federal funding from schools requiring masks and vaccines in the future. His explanation for Fauci was that he was the most preeminent infectious disease doctor in the country at the time, which was behind his prominent role in the Pence-led Task Force. How deceptive Fauci really was has been an incremental unmasking, initiated by Rand Paul’s confrontational questions, leading to his recent inquisition before the current Republican house committee.

Lots of positive reviews on DJT’s Town hall performance last night. As time goes on I think it was an astute move not to join the debates, where little was accomplished except to bicker and diss each other. U.S. and European government officials have poorly tracked military aid for Ukraine worth more than $1 billion, creating concerns the weapons have been stolen, according to a Defense Department report released Thursday, amid contested efforts by American lawmakers to provide additional funding for Ukraine’s war against Russia.

  56. People (JeffP) keeps saying Trump is losing a step, getting old, might have even used the term “senile.” In fact I think DJT has looked tired during some of his back-to-back Iowa caucus events, while weaving them into his frustrating court outings. However, last night at the town hall he looked younger, invigorated and spot on in his answers., afterwards taking a lot of time talking and signing stuff with the audience. He then flew back to Ny to sit through, what must be an infuriating court room session of closing arguments, with the very weird looking and acting Judge Engoron. At the end Trump’s attorney asked if Trump could say a few words which Engoron tried to suppress. However, Trump took the microphone and said what he had to say anyway – how over-zealous and political the whole case was. It was a reckless but very fitting moment of fighting back at the injustices the politicized justice system is perpetrating on him. It reminds me of what is happening in Poland where crowds have gathered to protest government abuse and corruption…which is also similar to what happened at the J6 protest that turned into a riot after being attacked by the Capitol police. If people don’t resist injustices we will lose everything without even realizing such losses until it’s too late.

Passantino’s courage in bringing his lawsuit will accelerate the process of learning just how bad the Jan. 6 Committee was – and reveal the depth of its most aggressive members’ dishonesty and manipulation.
