Merry Christmas to all of you. Jason, Tina, Phil, DW, Jan, Retlaw (walt right), to everyone, I wish you a wonderful and happy day. Please cherish all of those around you, and your loved ones. Despite our arguments here, I think we all care for each other, and in the end respect each other. I am very lucky after 20 years to still have yall in my life.
Merry Christmas to you Bitter – thank you for keeping this going. I know it’s not easy for you, and I know you have known loss. This is my first Christmas without my sons and it’s a hollow gaping hole that a 15 min call can not fill. Just know that what you do here matters, and it certainly matters to me. Merry Christmas.

I didn’t get the Glock. I think somehow Bitter’s bad vibes got to my wife because she parroted a version of his “you already have enough guns” nonsense. I did get a fancy corkscrew set with little silver (?) markers you put around wine glasses to identify who is drinking from that glass. I think Tgca would call them wine charms. Now I have to figure out how to use the corkscrew, looks daunting. Since real men never read instructions, could be a problem.
She got a new tablet she wanted but since she didn’t get me the Glock I should have gotten her a crock pot.
Lupita got a new blanket. She gave me a look that said why spend $60 on that crap when I really wanted a $5 bag of apples or carrots.

Btw, regarding site traffic Bitter I do think you should post polls or delegate it to someone who will do it like DW. Not a link to the poll but like Dave used to do it. You are probably right most people don’t want to access what is just a forum for arguments, but if you post polls on a daily basis you will get more traffic. You can also try to run ads and get revenue.

Vic, appreciated your warm Christmas message – generous in extending the real meaning of these holidays being about the gifts of family and friends. Whether these people are close by, or some place else, their presence remains in your heart and fond memories of past Christmases together. Like Bitter already said, your sons are fortunate to have such a caring father like yourself.

Jason is correct. Posting polls would help. There are 2 problems. First, this platform so far makes a mess of copy and paste. Second, I thought the polls were a Zzzzzz feature of HHR.
That said, I will see what I can do about loosening the reins and giving access to a Poll Reporter. If people agree, I recommend DW. One caveat is that I do not want this to be cheerleading site. Dave did a good job (and was ripped for it) by posting polls that were good and bad for Republicans.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO THE HHR GANG!
Delightful leisurely breakfast and gift opening.
Very enjoyable.
But…
1. Got a text from son in Wisc. saying his wife is sick and might have CROVID.
We are scheduled to get the plane tomorrow morning to fly to MSP and then drive 4 hours to Wisc. for a week. Plans now on hold pending CROVID test.
2.. Check headlines on intertube to see the world is still totally F-ed up.
3. the friggin garage door will not open. cable wires all tangled.
Son #2 and I will be working to try to fix.
I hope neither of us loses any fingers truing to rectify the snafu.
Merry friggin Christmas, as the real world ends the Christmas joy.
But I still wish people here joy and happiness (despite the travails of the world and life.
