I know. The official reason is that I don’t want the old 1000+ post HHR threads. The selfish reason is I usually read the comments on my phone and get tired of scrolling. If people prefer longer threads, that’s fine.
Some think showing a video of a Russia caravan being destroyed indicates Russia is losing the war. However, in reality, Russia has become a global winner because of this war. It’s formed new closer alliances with China, Iran, Brazil, India strengthening ties with both our adversaries and ones we thought were allies. Just recently Putin made an unprecedented trip to the Gulf States —- UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia – where he was warmly feted with clasped hand shakes and a festive atmosphere usually displayed for royalty. This treatment is in direct defiance of the West and Biden’s push to isolate Putin and wreck his economy. Instead, our economy is the one suffering, as well as the Gulf States snubbing and not even answering Biden’s phone calls. The person we can still reach is Zelensky, who wants our money, especially after being rebuffed when seeking China’s support, or his offer to share Israel’s limelight in order to redirect attention on Ukraine.
”The trips come as Russia is keen to project influence and undermine the West’s attempts to isolate it.
Mr Putin was greeted in the UAE with a full cavalry escort and motorcade while a national aerobatics team drew the Russian flag in the sky with smoke trails.
Russia’s leader told UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan that “our relations have reached unprecedented levels”.
Trade and oil will be on the agenda in the UAE, which a Kremlin statement said is “Russia’s main economic partner in the Arab world”.
I have been highly complimentary of Nikki “you have to feel my pain” Haley over the years. I thought she was a good SC governor. I thought she is the kind of politician the R party needs, a woman of color from a growing demographic in the US (Asian Indians). I approved of Trump appointing her to the UN and defended her many times here at HHR from accusations that she was a Neocon warmonger and other such nonsense. I have stated I agree with most of her foreign policy views and admire the fact she is not an isolationist or protectionist. I did note her tendency to pander but it did not seem a fatal flaw, all politicians pander in one way or another.
But there are moments in politics that define you. The George Floyd murder by was a major crisis. The TV images of his arrest and treatment by a rogue cop were horrific. The MSM immediately declared him a symbol of defiance against a racist America that was responsible for his death. Despite being a drug addict with a criminal record who was passing a counterfeit bill and resisting arrest, George Floyd became the new Rosa Parks, a hero of the civil rights movement. The Democrats gave him a state funeral. Nikki “You must feel my pain” Haley was “shocked and awed” by all this. While the MSM and Democrats declared the burning of US cities and the firebombing of federal buildings and police stations “mostly peaceful”, she could not resist issuing a despicable and disgusting statement pandering to the worst elements of society who were taking advantage of the situation to advance their goals of destroying America as we know it. She could not resist the narrative that somehow every person in America was responsible for the actions of a Minneapolis police officer. These were people engaged in the most destructive behavior possible. Yet Nikki “You must feel my pain’ Haley failed the test. She showed that when push comes to shove, she is not going to stand on any principle, she is not going separate right from wrong, she is going to do what she thinks the prevailing winds mandate. To me, that disqualifies her from the Presidency.
If that is HDS, so be it.
And those that want to paper over her pandering and quote her as saying “unlawful riots must stop”, sorry that dog won’t hunt. Nobody actually came out and said “I support burning down cities”, not even AOC. Her tweet stands on its own. I will post it here every time someone denies Nikki “You must feel my pain” Haley is a BLM panderer.
Some think showing a video of a Russia caravan being destroyed indicates Russia is losing the war.”
Nah, nobody thinks that. It merely shows the Russians are paying a very high price for their war of annexation of Ukraine in terms of men and equipment. It shows Putin doesn’t care how many Russians are killed as long as his personal objectives are met.
I never said the Russians are losing the war, btw. The war is being fought entirely on Ukrainian territory despite a few drone attacks inside Russia. The millions of people displaced are Ukrainians. The tens of thousands of civilians killed, raped and tortured are Ukrainian. The cities bombed, the infrastructure destroyed, the economy ruined is all in Ukraine. The tens of thousands of square miles of occupied territory are Ukrainian.
Russia is not losing the war, they are merely paying hundreds of time the price for it that they would have paid had they succeeded in decapitating the Ukrainian government and installing a puppet regime.
As far as Russia’s new alliances, none of them are certain to be lasting. All all of them will backstab Putin at a moments notice and “trade” with the UAE will never make up for all the business Russia has lost with the West and western investments in Russia. The UAE only has oil, which Russia doesn’t need. The standard of living in Russia is declining and this war is straining the Russian economy.
Russia can continue the war only because Putin is a ruthless dictator with a police state and full control of media.
Why Cn and N, Ronna Romney? They are not a network.
CNN – CNN will host two Republican presidential primary debates next month in Iowa and New Hampshire – states that hold the first contests in the race for the 2024 GOP nomination, the network announced Thursday.
The events will provide Republican voters an opportunity to hear the governing philosophies of the leading candidates seeking to challenge the likely Democratic presidential nominee, President Joe Biden, in November.
The first debate will take place on January 10 at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, less than a week before Iowa caucus-goers weigh in on the Republican presidential race. The second debate will be January 21 at St. Anselm College in Goffstown, New Hampshire. (read more)
I am also NeverHaley. She is dead to me. Anyone who says parents should allow their deceived children to be forever sterilized through surgical genital mutilation is NOT someone who should be voted for.
If a child wants a healthy arm or leg removed, or wants her eyes or ears destroyed so as to better identify with those handicapped, and the insane parents approve, society needs to step in and say NO.
”As far as Russia’s new alliances, none of them are certain to be lasting. You don’t get it! The sanctions have not hurt Russia. They are finding workarounds and their economy and ability to manufacture war goods has actually accelerated. Military pay has increased the standard of living for many Russian people. Christmas in Moscow is lit up, showing no indication of the ongoing war with Ukraine. The losers in this war, thus far, are the Ukrainian and American people, not the hierarchy or war merchants profiting off it. The longer it’s extended the more these lopsided side effects will hurt commoners and benefit the powerful elite. Why is Ukraine now fracturing within its inner circles, pitting a popular military general, the Kiev mayor against Zelensky if the country was unified in its goals? Why…because it’s not unified. People have fled Ukraine to get away from war. Small villages, having thousands of residents, are now ghost towns. Parents are paying off those trying to conscript young people into service, so they are passed over for service. Ukraine is being used like a virtual war game by those who simply want to win at any cost, except for putting their own lives on the front line to be slaughtered.
Haley is a Republican candidate following in the footsteps of someone she earlier said she idolized —-> Hillary Clinton. Both of their ambitions are on steroids, making them want the position of power more than they want to help their country or the people who live here.
Children are children. They need adults or they die. A toddler wandering loose on an interstate needs to be rescued. A child sticking metal objects into an outlet needs to be stopped for their own good. A child running around with sharp scissors needs to be stopped immediately due to the danger of impalement or death. But give those scissors to a surgeon who will lop off their genitals, and its okay according to Haley and most Democrats.
Could be Haley was talking about the strange scenarios where children get born as both sexes at once (intersex.) For instance when he has both a penis and a vagina both, etc etc. there are a number of those scenarios.
I can see why that last post was anonymous. Come on. Really? You can do better than that. These situations are so statistically rare and unusual, and clearly are not the topic under discussion. The situation you described is in the same category as other birth defects like heart murmurs, conjoined twins, and other defects that require surgery for the benefit of the child. These surgeries do not violate the Hippocratic oath like happens whenever an evil surgeon draws the knife down on a healthy child to cut up their private parts, permanently sterilizing the child.
And if you had taken the time to check, you would have found that the question put to Haley was about a theoretical 12 year old. So no, Haley was NOT talking about birth defects.
Tucker Carlson
@TuckerCarlson
The Biden administration is openly threatening Americans over Ukraine. In a classified briefing in the House yesterday, defense secretary Lloyd Austin informed members that if they don’t appropriate more money for Zelensky, “we’ll send your uncles, cousins and sons to fight Russia.” Pay the oligarchs or we’ll kill your kids.
”The war that people are fleeing is 100% due to Putin’s invasion.”
Putin invaded Ukraine because 1) Biden waffled initially regarding a little invasion not being so bad 2) Zelensky was ill prepared too, not taking Russia positioned on the Ukrainian border seriously. That currently is what much of the criticism being leveled @ Zelensky is all about. Everyone knows Putin’s KGB past and reputation of being a thug, a person who poisons his perceived enemies. So, why was Kiev mainly engaged in maintaining its night life rather than preparing itself for an invasion by a ruthless dictator? People are currently fleeing because they want to get away from the effects of the war, and/or fighting in an environment where they are helplessly getting chewed up. Armchair warriors like you just keep pointing out that this was Putin’s invasion, therefore the war must continue at any cost to its civilians. Personally, I see your stance as being both unrealistic and very insensitive.
BS. Stop with the garbage. Putin invaded because he wanted to invade. Blaming Biden and Zelensky is absurd and disgraceful. More excuses to absolve Putin. You are the insensitive one, Jan. You refuse to answer the question of how many Ukrainians must be slaves to Putin and how much territory must be ceded to that tyrant to satisfy you. You refuse to answer because no decent person would accept either.
I am also NeverHaley. She is dead to me. Anyone who says parents should allow their deceived children to be forever sterilized through surgical genital mutilation is NOT someone who should be voted for.”
Well, of course tomorrow she might say something different so you never know.
I don’t defend her beyond pointing out your lie and the fact that she did condemn BLM violence. You yourself said that Floyd was murdered and his death was horrific but you have to feel superior every so often so now you turn on Haley. You are addicted to your “Never” posts. Trump in 2016. Haley in 2023.
I read the indictment. The “I am a recovering drug addict” defense won’t work on these charges.
It specifically alleges that Hunter “spent millions on a lavish lifestyle” instead of paying taxes and that “he had the funds to pay the taxes if he had chosen to do so”.
It also alleges he “subverted the payroll of his own company” by withdrawing millions from it outside the payroll system and without paying taxes on the money.
The indictments allege he didn’t pay taxes on income from Burisma and China CEFC.
Basically they are throwing the book at him on taxes after just charging him with two misdemeanors earlier.
I guess the cat was out of the bag and there was no way to avoid charging him.
but you have to feel superior every so often so now you turn on Haley.”
LOL
That makes a lot of sense….
And “now”my ass. I called Nikki “You must feel my pain” Haley on her pandering right after she made her shameless, disgusting and despicable statement over 3 years ago, so it had nothing to do with her candidacy for President,
GFY.
And no, Nikki Haley didn’t condemn “BLM violence”. She made a milquetoast general statement on “lawless riots”…. zzzzzzz…
CNN IA & NH debates will include candidates with 10% in three polls state and/or national. That could mean only RDS and Nikki.
The way I see it…Trump beats Haley one on one and losses to RDS one on one. It sure is going to be interesting if one drops out in time to swing the nomination one way or the other.
You yourself said that Floyd was murdered and his death was horrific”
Yeah, and if Nikki “you have to feel my pain” Haley had limited her comment to that no problem.
But she didn’t. She pandered to BLM and accused everyone in America of being complicit in his murder. She couldn’t resist the influence of her MSM handlers, and it defined her as a person and a candidate.
Unfit for dogcatcher let alone President.
Go ahead. Keep defending her. I don’t care what you think of her, but you are triggered by people who say they won’t vote her. Tough.
Because only Christie and Haley understand that military aid to Ukraine is of vital strategic importance to the U.S., one of them will get my primary vote. I like DeSantis over Haley but he blew it by being weak on Ukraine. The real world calls for tough choices.
Zzzzzzzz Keep making post after post about how you don’t care about what I think of Haley. You must not care a lot. Dozens of posts about how much you don’t care in 3…2…1…
Jason said Floyd was murdered and his death was horrific. BLM said Floyd was murdered and his death was horrific. Hmmmmm. Nothing to see here or Jason will tell us again and again he does not care.
After skewering Hamas, Fetterman calls for dialog on immigration. This will be popular among his fellow socialists….
…Fetterman urged his fellow party members to acknowledge the large number of migrants coming across the border, citing an estimated 270,000 border encounters reported in September by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
“Honestly, it’s astonishing. And this isn’t a Fox News kind of statistic. This is the government’s,” Fetterman underscored.
“You essentially have [the population of] Pittsburgh showing up there at the border.”
My issue is that you try to set yourself up as a great judge of candidate’s fitness and then look like a jackass backtracking later. I am trying to help you. A-holes help each other.
In any case if Nikki “you must feel my pain” Haley wins despite being a BLM panderer and unfit for office and turns out to be a great President, I will more than happy to “backtrack”.
Until then I will call her on her despicable, disgusting and shameless statement and her general propensity to have the core convictions of an earthworm and wouldn’t vote for her against the clone of Karl Marx or the ghost of Jeffrey Dahmer.
Jason is wrong independent of whether anybody else is wrong. He should accept that. Of course, I have been wrong before but Jason is unique at HHR in his desire to be the final word on every subject and infallible until he is caught being wrong.
Watching a panel discussion with the Solicitor Generals for the GWB, Obama, and Trump Administrations. So far, none of them has cited Gateway Pundit as precedent.
Great candidate you have there, Bitter…so much “better than a Democrat” that Larry Fink is endorsing her. You are in good company.
“Billionaire and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman also reportedly gave $250,000 to a super PAC backing Haley this week.
A Democrat who supports Biden, Hoffman said in a LinkedIn post that he donated to Haley because “my first priority is to defeat Trump, and the primary is the first of two chances to do so.”
DeSantis and Ramaswamy also resurfaced Haley’s reported meeting last month with Blackrock CEO Larry Fink, an attack focused on Haley’s stance on ESG.
“Larry Fink, the king of the woke industrial complex, the ESG movement, the CEO of BlackRock, the most powerful company in the world, now supporting Nikki Haley,” said Ramaswamy.”
Are you trying to steal Jan’s clown title? You looked like a moron having to recant literally thousands of NeverTrump! posts. You are setting yourself up to do it again. Save yourself. I have been consistent since 1986. The Republican nominee gets my vote. People can vote or not for anybody they want but they own it.
“Rumors continue to swirl that South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem might be Trump’s choice, U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, or even Arizona Republican Kari Lake.
However, in an interesting twist, Trump’s wife, Melania, has reportedly lobbied for one of the most well-known figures in conservative media: Tucker Carlson.
According to a report from Axios, Melania thinks Carlson “would make a powerful onstage extension of her husband.”
Trump will lose my vote if his VP is Tucker Carlson.
Damm, now 4,000 posts from Bitter on how Tucker Carlson is “better than any Democrat”
Haley and Christie support military aid to Ukraine as a vital US strategic interest. So do I. DeSantis and Trump don’t. The real world requires tough choices. Unlike you, I won’t help Democrats win by potentially not voting. You already did that in 2016. I won’t.
You looked like a moron having to recant literally thousands of NeverTrump! posts”
I did?
News to me.
I think you look like a moron writing dozens of posts defending Nikki “you must feel my pain” Haley’s shameless, despicable and disgusting pandering to BLM.
Haley and Christie support military aid to Ukraine as a vital US strategic interest. So do I. DeSantis and Trump don’t. The real world requires tough choices.”
I agree.
For me not to vote for the Republican candidate is a tough choice.
And nobody defends military aid for Ukraine more than I do here.
However, I wouldn’t believe anything Nikki “you must feel my pain” Haley says about Ukraine. She says she supports Ukraine but I think she would reverse that position at the drop of a hat. I think she has no principles and no core values.
Your deal breaker is aid to Ukraine. Mine is qualification for office.
You should respect my position like I respect yours.
Unlike you, I won’t help Democrats win by potentially not voting. You already did that in 2016. I won’t. ”
Unlike you, I won’t help elect a person I don’t deem qualified for the office. In my view, if Republicans want to beat the Democrats, they must field a qualified candidate.
1) A woman brings her son in to see a surgeon. She tells the doctor that she has convinced her son to have his healthy arms removed because she has always wanted to be the mom of a crippled boy who had no arms. The doctor tells the mom to get out of his office before he calls the police and reports her for child abuse. He has taken an oath to do no harm.
2) A woman brings her son in to see a surgeon. She tells the doctor that she has convinced her son to have his healthy genitals removed because she has always wanted to be the mom of a girl instead of a boy. The doctor tells the mom, sure, let’s see, how about Tuesday at 9:00 a.m.?
Emerson also polled all the candidates who say they are running:
Trump 43
Biden 37
Kennedy 7
West 1
Stein 1
I am a little slow to want to include these three others. Maybe they run, maybe they don’t, and maybe they can get a percentage or even two, but 7% or close to 10% all together? I am not so sure.
Of course its looking more and more like Biden won’t make it to the nomination.
I don’t believe the polls. I also think the former President is hurting himself by not debating and gradually losing support.
Over a million people more watched the last debate on a channel that hardly anyone watches over the former President’s softball Hannity interview. (People were not allowed to ask questions) it’s was not a town hall. On a the most watched news channel.
Not to mention the RDS/Newsom debate dwarfed the former President’s other love fests with Hannity. Which I find very interesting.
Not predicting any upsets but the gap in polling can’t be 40 points.
But hey, no, she is not pandering to the LGBTQ crowd. She really believes in child mutilation, its been a core conviction for her since, hmmm, yesterday.
“Losing your school nine figures in donations because you can’t state unequivocally that promoting genocide is bad tends to make one’s continued employment prospects poor.”
You would think so but American academia is way beyond that.
The Presidents of 3 leading higher learning institutions were too afraid to say advocating genocide of Jews was against their university policy.
I was juxtaposing option 1 against 2 to show how absurd 2 is. If society is right to stop a parent from having her son’s healthy arms removed, then society is right to stop a parent from having her son’s healthy genitals removed.
Not predicting any upsets but the gap in polling can’t be 40 points”
I tend to agree. I actually don’t see Trump getting more than 40% in IA. But unless either the Golden Calf or Nikki “you must fell my pain” Haley drops out, neither which looks likely, it will be enough for him to come in first.
“But unless either the Golden Calf or…Haley drops out”
True, but I cannot believe that in Iowa Haley’s pro-mutilation and sterilization of children will help her. This statement amounts to dropping out in Iowa I would think. It wouldn’t hurt Haley in the GOP primary in California or Massachusetts, but in Iowa, she is done.
I was juxtaposing option 1 against 2 to show how absurd 2 is.”
Nikki “You must feel my pain” Haley has a lot of “absurd” positions. Pandering to BLM while they burn down cities. Child mutilation. Censoring and doxxing conservatives that don’t agree with her.
Soooo, Hunter indicted on four felony charges. Well Well……..more evidence that Joe will bow out “voluntarily”. The decision has been made by the powers that be. Biden isn’t salvageable and the puppeteers that hoisted this clown on the American electorate know it. The MSM, justice dept, and all the other entities that bent over backward for three years to protect Hunter are now turning on Hunter and dear old dad.
Why the change? Isn’t it obvious?
Bidenomics didn’t sell. Oh, how they tried to sell it.
Overall, Job approval numbers in the high 30s.
Dementia behavior in public events. He’s 81 and his behavior will only deteriorate further over the next year. It will only get worse. His leftist puppeteers know it.
They know they can’t sell this turkey. Democrats crave power. It’s what drives them. They aren’t going to give it up by attaching their prospects to a candidate that is impossible to sell.
Coming across a lot of these same pieces by the media”
LOL
Gateway Pundit is media?
Or is it just a moronic conspiracy theory cesspool promoting 99% garbage?
I will take curtain #2 for $500 please.
And of course, if Ukraine’s counter offensive “failed”, wouldn’t the right thing be to INCREASE aid? Wouldn’t it mean Ukraine needs MORE military aid so their counter offensives can be more successful?
I love it when the Putin Stooges like tina and Janzam argue that “Russia is winning” as a reason why we should provide less aid.
I guess they are too stupid to understand that undermines their own argument.
Back in the 70s and 80s there were a lot of horror films made. I have never much been in to watching horror, because real life has enough horrors of its own. But the few that I saw, some of them leave a lasting memory. A visual of someone’s arms or legs being cut off…but it was all fiction. Make-believe horror.
Today, RIGHT NOW, there is a scared little boy somewhere in America who is laying on a gurney waiting to be made unconscious, so that an evil surgeon will take a knife and cut off his testicles and penis, forever sterilizing him. This is a horror film. But its REAL. It’s actually happening in America. It’s the stuff that resulted in Nazi war crime convictions after WWII. Like the one where a surgeon took two Jewish girls, twin sisters, and operated on them joining their hands together surgically, just to see what would happen. Its sick. Its horrific. Its happening in America right NOW.
So, what is the timing of Joe’s “voluntary” exit.”
There IS one problem.
Jill could decide he won’t go. She could decide that the only way to get Hunter out of jail is for him to win and pardon him, he can’t pardon him now.
Yes, he could make a deal where the next president pardons Hunter, but does the next president really want to spend political capital pardoning Hunter for tax fraud? Pardoning Trump can be used as a “heal the nation” argument, like Ford did with Nixon, but what good argument would there be to pardon Hunter for tax fraud?
1. President Biden had his White House Deputy Counsel Jonathan Su waive President Trump’s claim of Executive Privilege, leading to Biden Attorney General Merrick Garland and Jay Bratt’s unprecedented raid in August 2022 and Garland, Jack Smith, and Bratt’s unprecedented indictment.
2. Garland and Bratt indicted Trump the day after Congress learned the FBI has had evidence since 2017 then-Vice President Biden and his son Hunter allegedly took a $10 million foreign bribe from Burisma and changed U.S. policy toward Ukraine.
3. In December 2022, Soros-funded Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg hired a top Biden DOJ political appointee and longtime Democrat activist–Matthew Colangelo–to help run his unprecedented political prosecution of Biden’s political enemy. After Bragg lobbied the prior DA to decline to prosecute Trump. And the Manhattan U.S. Attorney declined. And the FEC declined. And Bragg declined. Before Biden’s Colangelo changed this, bringing the first indictment ever of a former president.
4. Going back to at least December 17, 2021, Democrat Fulton County DA Fani Willis coordinated with the Democrat chairman of the January 6th partisan House committee before indicting Trump and 18 others.
Phil, the first thing I said to my son when I heard the news break about the Hunter indictment…well, they made their final decision in the smoke filled room. Biden has to be replaced and cannot be salvaged.
You are exactly right, DW. The decision has been made. Joe won’t be on the ballot in November.
The interesting part is how the puppeteers engineer the replacement process. How do they brush aside Kamala without pissing off that part of their coalition? It is a delicate process. In the end, Newsome or some other “compromise” candidate will be chosen in the back room. Won’t be Kamala though. Maybe one of the Democratic governors like the leftist governor of Michigan.
Trump and Biden actually need each other to run. Biden’s entire campaign is based on stopping Trump. Another Dem could try that strategy but Biden can say, “I stopped him once. I will do it again.” A substitute Dem not named Kamala Harris or Michelle Obama throws away a lot of black votes.
Trump needs Biden so he can say, “Remember when America didn’t suck? That was my doing! (Forget about COVID. Nobody saw that coming)”. No Trump means a lot of MAGA voters sit out (but will bitch about the Dem who wins for 4 years).
The Dems are going to run with 2 issues – Trump and abortion. Trump will run on his record and revenge. Another Republican would run on 17 issues but will only be asked about Trump and abortion.
Rich Baris “The People’s Pundit”
@Peoples_Pundit
This month, Emerson oversampled < 30 voters to identify 1) whether the move to Trump is real and 2) if so, why are they moving to Trump.
It's definitely real (which we knew), and new young voters are a gold mine for him (43% to 21%), which we also knew.
The thing is that Hunter and Dmented gained financially from Ccp, Russian, and Ukrainian bad actors. Remember in 2016, the obumbler offered to give money to Biden because he was “going to lose his house?” Then he makes all of this money? He sold his office to the Ccp, Russian, and Ukrainian bad actors. He is caught and there is a paper trail that the fib, justice, and Bondo Barr tried to hide.
If Trump had been reelected in 2020, then we would not be having all this mess right now politically. We would be in the last year of Trump’s 8 years. Trump would not be on the ballot anywhere. Plus:
–Nobody would be talking about the 2016 and 2020 elections. Would not be in the news.
–The Dem POTUS candidates would be Newsom, AOC, Talib, Elizabeth Warren, and about 100 other idiots.
–The R candidates would be Desantis, Halley, and the goofy Swammy (no reason for Christie to run).
–No buzz about a possible 3rd party candidate.
–Maybe the media would be focused on issues.
–Hunter and Joe Biden would already be in jail.
–the southern border would have been secure and calm for the last 3 years.
–we would not have had a big spike in inflation and be dealing with that.
–we would have avoiding the big spending splurge by the federal government.
–And of course we May not have had the disastrous withdraw from Gannystan, the Russia’s invasion of Uke, or the current war between Israel and Hamas and friends.
So at this point, to replace Biden, the Dems have some tough choices.
1) Do they let Biden go through the primary process, then pull him out and replace him with a candidate picked by a convention of party elites? (and thereby keep their voters at arm’s length)?
2) Do they pull Biden NOW and call for new candidates to fill the slate of options for the caucuses and primaries that start in just a FEW WEEKS?
If they were truly the DEMOCRATIC party, they would put it to their voters (option 2). But they about have to go with option 1, because they won’t want to risk any mistakes by the voters, via the primary/caucus option. It has way too many risks.
If they threw this to a last minute full field of Dem candidates who suddenly throw their hat in the ring, the chaos could be hard to control.
Probably the Dems will find a milquetoast pawn like Mark Warner or some other incompetent senator. They probably want someone who has never governed before, a life-long lawmaker.
Putin would still have ordered the invasion. Trump’s clueless statement he could end the war in 24 hours shows Ukraine means nothing to him and he does not understand the issues.
What you can probably bet on is that Biden won’t withdraw until AFTER the primaries. Democrats don’t want a primary competition. Some candidate will be selected in the back room and only then will Biden officially go away.
I pay no attention to national primary polls. They are absolutely worthless. The ONLY one that matters is the Iowa caucus polling. Once that happens, then the only one that matters is the New Hampshire primary polling. The outcomes of IA (vote totals, delegates, candidates dropping, etc.) impacts the landscape for NH.
RDS is by far and away the best candidate and would make a great President. If the GOP electorate reject him so be it. In todays world it’s almost expected. They get what they deserve.
I like retllaw’s list of what it would be like if Trump had been president the
last 4 years. Our borders certainly would not have been invaded by millions. Our economy would be more fiscally sound. And, yes Russia would have most likely been reluctant to have crossed over into Ukraine, due to the unpredictability of Trump’s threat to bomb Moscow if he did. And, Bitter would be sad, maybe even confused, on who to vote for in the 2024 primary, without Ukraine being the one issue he now bases his vote – no mater how terrible a candidate may be dealing with other important issues.
BTW, for those of you who can’t move on from Trump, Andy McCarthy tweeted out that Trump is looking at a DC trial in March lasting around two months. He said because of a where it is held it’s a likely conviction. Also said he will be denied bail because in cases like that it is never granted.
In other words, Trump will be in jail. So yeah, let’s nominate this guy. Absolutely brilliant.
Haley and Christie are two of the worst candidates on the R slate currently vying for POTUS. Haley is a Hillary Clinton clone. Enough said.
Christie’s singular contribution to the Trump presidency was recommending Wray for FBI Director. Other than that he shut down NJ beaches during COVID, while he and his family hypocritically had the beach all to themselves. He licked Trump’s boots, acting like a poodle, trying to ingratiate himself into his administration. When that didn’t work all he does is trash him.
If Trump goes to jail because of a sham trial, having bail denied, and a predetermined conviction the martyrdom image created will be epic, maybe even delivering the presidency on a silver platter. The populace is in a terrible mood these days, feeling they have been royally screwed over and deceived by Biden’s governmental tyranny. If Trump is jailed he will become one with them, and they will identify with his plight rather than being turned away by it. Even here in CA people are restless, aggrieved with the democrat party and looking to cast their vote anywhere but in the dem column.
Tina, I forgot about Christie being in charge of the transition team. I know he was asked once to take Trump’s suit to the cleaners. Was that part of the job description attached to leading the transition team? I have zero respect for that guy…Haley too.
Trump’s civil fraud case brought on by Letitia James is falling apart:
Her star witness, Michael Cohen, lied and was destroyed when taking the stand.
Deutsche Bank marked down Trump’s assets by as much as 50%, rather than inflating them as claimed.
Various FL real estate brokers said mar-a-Lago was worth $1.2 billion in 2021, rather than Judge Engaron’s pre-trial appraisal of $18 million.
Finally a highly credentialed accounting/audit expert, Eli Barton, stated Trump’s financial position was an “A,” and the statements provided to the court were transparent and very detailed. He summarized his testimony by saying “Everywhere you look, you see this (indictment) is simply an absurd argument.,” concluding there was no fraud to be found.
The problem with a kangaroo court is that evidence and testimony are irrelevant. All that is needed in a kangaroo court is a political enemy to punish and sentence. They have that in the person of Trump.
The Dems are going to run with 2 issues – Trump and abortion. Trump will run on his record and revenge. Another Republican would run on 17 issues but will only be asked about Trump and abortion.”
This is a good summary. It shows an A-hole can spew a lot of crap but also a worthwhile nugget occasionally.
The problem with a kangaroo court is that evidence and testimony are irrelevant”
Exactly.
You have bogus charges brought forth by a partisan prosecutor in a courtroom with a partisan judge and partisan jurors.
Is it really going to matter that Trump didn’t inflate his assets and his asset appraisals were corroborated independently by the banks and none of the banks lost any money loaning on that basis
Btw, Tina is correct that the 199,000 job number is a weak number.
Because of the return of striking workers, it is actually 50,000 higher than the real number which is about 150,000. The 50,000 jobs that returned were not really “added”.
He won’t be in jail. He will be free on appeal and that will take years. But he will be a convicted felon and that will cost him some votes among the less informed who might think he actually deserved to be convicted of something.
Yes the partisan prosecutors and judges might try to throw him in jail but I doubt they could make it stick.
Putin would still have ordered the invasion. Trump’s clueless statement he could end the war in 24 hours shows Ukraine means nothing to him and he does not understand the issues.”
I don’t think Putin would have invaded with Trump as President. In fact I would have bet he wouldn’t at the time.
What would have happened is Putin would have saber rattled and Trump would have bought him off with some type of economic benefits for Russia and Putin would have waited for a better opportunity.
I do agree Trump’s 24 hour end the war narrative is BS. I would bet that his “solution” is a ceasefire at existing positions which essentially means annexation of 25% of Ukraine and the enslavement of millions of Ukrainians.
BS. In the first place there were no “targeted” tariffs.
Trump’s self defeating stupid tariffs and trade wars were not targeted, they were “blanket” tariffs that were just another tax on the American consumers that could least afford it.
“Tariffs that work” is an oxymoron. Trump’s AFL-CIO failed agenda of the last 70 years hurt American producers and consumers a lot more than it hurt the intended “victims:”.
Axelrod thinks it’s a go: “I Have A Strong Sense That Biden Is Full Speed Ahead, He Is Going Through With This Campaign”
He presumes to think that Biden can make independent decisions. Biden is just stumbling ahead until he unknowingly walks out to read his teleprompter, and reads the news that he is stepping down because of his health.
”The Dems are going to run with 2 issues – Trump and abortion. Trump will run on his record and revenge.”
The first part i agree with. The 2rd I only partially see will be the case. Trump is currently running on his record and the theft//corruption of the 2020 election. He will continue with that thread should he be the GE candidate. However, rather than revenge he will highlight how he knows the antics and people of DC much better, and will not make the same mistakes of staffing choices like he made during his first term. There are already interviews being played demonstrating staffing up for a conservatively-run administration is in progress. As mentioned before, if Trump can enact the new Schedule F employment category through an EO, he will be able to reconfigure how federal employees can be chosen to serve in civil service positions – employees, who like in his first term served to disrupt his agenda, will be replaced by ones wanting to help pass his agenda.
“1) Do they let Biden go through the primary process, then pull him out and replace him with a candidate picked by a convention of party elites? (and thereby keep their voters at arm’s length)?”
Here’s another way to look at Trump’s speech and behavior. He’s definitely a unique individual, setting him apart from all the “normies.” Even my adult son describes him as a “political phenomenon” – someone he would not vote for, but admires his humor and moxie all the same.
As we head into the 2024 presidential election cycle, don’t be afraid to think outside the box, like Trump, when it comes to his rhetoric. Just because his strategy may not be obvious doesn’t mean there isn’t one. Behind his public words are an extraordinary individual who seeks to wake the country up before the Democrats can obtain a monopoly on power in the United States. Like Lincoln, Trump will likely die having never gotten the credit he deserves for all that he has done for us. Instead, people will lament his rhetoric and complain about his “character” for years. But then again, Lincoln was thought by some to be an “idiot” in his day too.
Yes. Trump would be eligible for the A-Hole club if he were posting here. He’d be a shoe in to make it into the club……..on the other hand, he might be just too much an A-Hole for even our club….and man, that’s saying a lot.

The person we can still reach is Zelensky, who wants our money, especially after being rebuffed when seeking China’s support, or his offer to share Israel’s limelight in order to redirect attention on Ukraine.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-67636648
”The trips come as Russia is keen to project influence and undermine the West’s attempts to isolate it.
Mr Putin was greeted in the UAE with a full cavalry escort and motorcade while a national aerobatics team drew the Russian flag in the sky with smoke trails.
Russia’s leader told UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan that “our relations have reached unprecedented levels”.
Trade and oil will be on the agenda in the UAE, which a Kremlin statement said is “Russia’s main economic partner in the Arab world”.

Btw, Bitter is full of crap saying I have HDS.

It also alleges he “subverted the payroll of his own company” by withdrawing millions from it outside the payroll system and without paying taxes on the money.
The indictments allege he didn’t pay taxes on income from Burisma and China CEFC.

Not to mention the RDS/Newsom debate dwarfed the former President’s other love fests with Hannity. Which I find very interesting.

Yes, he could make a deal where the next president pardons Hunter, but does the next president really want to spend political capital pardoning Hunter for tax fraud? Fact Check: True.
