There is no going back. Trump was the result of “Trumpism”, not the cause. It doesn’t matter who the “leader” is.

The only rebranding the GOP has to do is to acknowledge it is now a populist working class party that appeals to much wider demographics including minorities and is no longer the suburban country club-rural voter party. That coalition (suburban + rural) no longer has enough votes to win general elections and the party needs blue collar/working class/small business owners /minorities in the exurbs, suburbs and urban areas to win.

Biberaj is probably most well known for her despicable actions following two rapes committed by a “transgender” boy at county high schools; while the school board was failing to alert parents to the danger in their schools after the first rape, Biberaj was failing to file charges against the boy. This allowed the boy to return to school, where he proceeded to sexually assault another girl.

Her shameful behavior got worse. When Scott Smith, the father of the first rape victim, accosted school board members at a public meeting, he was physically hauled out by security — getting bloodied in the process — and found himself being charged by Biberaj for “disorderly conduct.”

    – Jason fraud, a pro-Trump circus clown, consistently demonstrates that he is an idiot. Beshear over performed 2019 because Cameron was a dud who had nothing to say other than he was endorsed by Trump. And because of that, Beshear increased his margins across the board.

Race hurt Cameron in certain parts of the state. Additionally, portraying himself as MAGA boosted Democrat turnout in Louisville and Lexington where former suburban Republicans have become Democrats because of Trump. Of course, Jason fraud thinks Republicans should give up on the suburbs so this once again shows his strategy is a total loser just like his hero Trump.

    – It wasn’t Trump’s endorsement that sunk Cameron. It was Cameron’s decision to make his campaign almost totally about Trump’s endorsement of him that cost him the election. The turnout in Louisville and Lexington crushed him. Both Louisville and Lexington have large suburban areas and those voters, formerly Republicans, hate everything about Trump and the candidates who celebrate Trump.

As someone who has always supported abortion to be legal in the first 20 weeks (yes, I can live with 15 weeks) I have never really understood the passion on abortion from either side. To me, life begins at viability outside the womb. Notwithstanding, I find the Democrat position in favor of partial birth abortions and even infanticide abhorrent. All my life I have voted for pro-life candidates because virtually all Rs are pro-life, because it is not a top issue for me and I don’t want to second guess people’s beliefs (that life begins at conception). I also support things like parental consent for minors.

So I would agree with all of Bitter’s suggestions, but I still think after all these years of asking for Roe vs. Wade to be overturned, pro-lifers should accept the decisions of the individual states and not try to impose unpopular restrictions (6 week, heartbeat, etc. ).

I don’t understand why having the right to abortion is so important to so many people who will never have an abortion. But it is our political reality and I agree with Bitter that the path is to make abortions less common, not to outlaw them.

Republicans were on the verge of a genuine governing coalition after 2014 and they crapped it all away in the name of a conman grifter. Trump got a whopping 46.1% of the vote against tired, old Hillary Clinton and, yet, the fraud thinks that was good.

No, I actually changed it AFTER Trump won.

But as I have explained many times, it was not about Trump.

In my view, Trump was a symptom, not the cause of the changes in the R electorate.

I no longer identified with the party, not because of Trump, but because I didn’t agree with the isolationist and protectionist tilt of the party (which Trump intelligently manipulated to his advantage, but he didn’t invent or create it).

The Republican Party I identified with was for small government, free enterprise, free markets, free trade, personal responsibility strong military, ready to intervene in our interests anywhere in the world).

I don’t believe today’s R party reflects those values. The fact Trump is popular in the party is certainly a result but not the cause of this change in values.

But of course, if the Golden Calf or Glenn Youngkin were nominated, I would vote for them. You on the other hand, will vote for Biden no matter who is the R nominee.

But rather than acknowledge that McCain and Romney ran awful campaigns, the HHR posters sought refuge in 2008 in nonsense like the “delbov curve” and the Bradley Effect. And in 2012, rather than acknowledge Romney was blowing a winnable race, you bought into poll skewing.

The Kentucky governor race results were interesting because the race was a contest of two political dynasty machines in the state: McConnell vs. Beshear. It’s an open secret in Washington that McConnell is out of gas, has lost control of his own conference, and is no longer calling the shots. He will not be Senate GOP leader after next year’s election. But we didn’t learn until last night that McConnell’s personal political machine in Kentucky is also on its last legs.

Cameron was literally McConnell’s protege and was described as such in local media for years. He worked for McConnell, was picked for his statewide runs by McConnell, had his campaign run by a veteran McConnell aide, and even counted McConnell among attendees at his wedding. Cameron’s election was supposed to be McConnell’s crowning achievement, as well McConnell’s opportunity to finally retire and focus on his health issues.

It’s hard to overstate what a devastating personal loss last night was for Mitch McConnell. He desperately wanted to leave the Senate on a high note. Instead, McConnell will limp out of his leadership role after 2024 having lost the confidence of his Senate colleagues, the opportunity to have his hand-picked political protege appoint his successor, and the ability to push forever war in Ukraine.

GOP candidate Ed Romaine outshined his Democrat opponent David Calone in the Suffolk County Executive election, resulting in Republicans now holding all of the countywide seats in Nassau and Suffolk Counties — both county executive seats, the district attorney and comptroller’s offices, and all four congressional seats.

Romaine secured 56 percent of the vote, beating Calone by more than 26,000 votes.

Another said that they could only recall one other moment in the last 60 years when Republicans were presiding over the predominantly Democrat area.

“Long Island, for now, is defiantly returning to its red roots,” Lawrence Levy, dean of Hofstra University’s National Center for Suburban Studies, said. “

Zelensky isn’t some paragon of democratic leadership. That’s the farce the bipartisan Establishment force-feeds you. In a span of just two years, the comedian in cargo shorts has made moves that bear a striking resemblance to the tactics employed by Vladimir Putin: Zelensky has banned 11 opposition parties and consolidated all state media into a single entity. He has the brass to extort us by threatening to forgo democratic elections unless the American people cough up another $135 million. He then bans Christians from worshiping in their churches. And Zelensky’s biggest champions like
    @NikkiHaley
say nothing about it – just like she did tonight.

Was a good President in foreign policy, economy for first three years, and Cocaine helped him with Judges Ryan helped with tax cuts. But he added all most 9 Trillion in debt in only four years and his Covid policy was unforgivable. He was a no show during the riots. Failed to use Article 2 authority to clean the swamp. Trump will be found guilty in DC appeals will not decided until after the election. So the GOP is going to win? The GOP is fragmented and nothing will change until after another election loss in 2024. Hopefully another non establishment candidate will arise from the ashes.

While I didn’t watch the debate one of the most “Vivek” moments was when he called out Ronna to resign because of her pathetic leadership in the RNC. Since Ronna & Trump took over, the GOP has gone from:

    34 to 24 governorships
68 to 55 state leg chambers
    26 to 22 Republican trifectas
    5 to 17 Democrat trifectas
    241 to 222 House seats
    52 to 49 Senate seats
    1 President to no President

For instance, directly below that focus group piece was a photo supposedly depicting scantly filled seating at tonight’s Trump rally, followed by a line saying “Trump is finished.” I watched a portion of the rally, and the place was packed and rocking with enthusiasm, including a heart-felt endorsement by Gov.Sarah Huckabee
