A democrat billionaire, Chamath Palihapitiye, has had a change of heart in his political thinking, turning more center right as time goes on.
”This is a moment when you have to start to re-underwrite, is one’s ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ causing more damage than anything President Trump could have done? And I think the answer is yes,” Palihapitiya said, acknowledging that his previous criticisms were misguided.

The Sri Lankan-born Canadian and American investor lamented the tendency to dismiss good work simply because of who was delivering the message.
A valid point being made by him is one I’ve tried to share with those who vilify Trump, saying he accomplished little to nothing during his presidential term. Chamath has looked in the rear view mirror and is able to see how his policies positively added to our well being, and that TDS was a far more destructive force.

The young Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis is far and above the most qualified and the best candidate regardless of party to lead this nation and It’s not even close. The question becomes do we as a nation deserve him. Are we smart enough to understand the times in which we live?
My opinion has nothing to do with me being “head over heels” as Jan sarcastically replies. It is verifiable fact proven by his continued leadership in every area of his responsibility.
Examples…His independent questioning of the Fauci approach to Covid, his leadership in several major hurricane disasters, his executive actions during the BLM riots to protect his cities and state, his removing corrupt Soros district attorneys, advocating and protecting Parents rights and his response to stranded Floridians in Israel. Not to mention working with the legislature and passing conservative legislation including the strong pro life heartbeat bill and addressing the Communist theories of Woke ideology.
His Constitutional understanding and conviction regarding states rights and ability to articulate them would influence many independent voters into the fold.
His leadership is unmatched in this country right now. It’s not even a debate.

Why was his one and only trip abroad seen as a 2nd tier candidate behavior? Also, all the wheelhouse successes you quote are state accomplishments, with a flurry of domestic issues tackled – no foreign or world leader experience, which is an important asset to have these troubled days.

Judiciary accomplishments: appointment of 230 federal judges, 54 court of appeals, flipped the 2nd, 3rd, 11th circuit courts from D to R, and appreciably reconfigured the biased 9th circuit court.
Other positive effects of his tenure as president are:
1). Secured much of the border, reaching immigration agreements with Mexico and Central America that limited illegal crossings.
2). Killed the ISIS leader Al-Baghdadi, defeated ISIS, eliminated Soleimani Iran’s top terrorist.
3). Signed the Great American Outdoors Act, giving the greatest help to parks and public lands.
4). Reconfigured the VA, giving greater access to medical care for veterans.
5). Built up the military. Increased oil reserves, that Biden has depleted.
6). Made the US energy independent.
7). Reduced human and drug trafficking, especially involving fentanyl.

JeffP – you are wrong again. The economy was rebounding during the Fall of 2020. It wasn’t until Biden took over in January 2021 that business closures hardened, vaccine mandates came into effect, along with the firing of unvaccinated employees etc. You are basically projecting Biden’s COVID policies and mandates onto the prior administration.
