  7. Good take here…This could have more truth that what is being said out loud.

“Ben Shapiro, who I like, said on his show yesterday that many moderate Republicans don’t want Jordan as speaker because he’s too far right and it will hurt them in purple districts. That’s not how I read it. I think many Republicans don’t want Jordan as speaker because he’s a Trump loyalist, and they know that if we have a speaker of the House that constantly parrots Kari Lake ‘stolen election, deep state’ talking points, it will hurt the GOP in competitive districts.

Many of the voices within the GOP that don’t favor another Trump nomination are much more conservative than those that do. I would prefer Chip Roy or a Thomas Massie for speaker, who are much more conservative than Jordan, but of course that would never happen.

Overall, my general concern is with the rhetoric regarding Trump that comes from the speaker and wether we’re going to focus on the American people or on ‘The Trump Show’. The more we focus on Trump, the less we focus on the people, and the more that hurts our policy goals and our credibility with the voters.”

  47. A switchback news day today:

An “insurrection” at the Capitol building that disrupted Congress, except these “Antifa” folks, posing as an Israeli group, will only be arrested and then released…not held for almost 3 years without bail or a trial, and then sentenced for sometimes years in prison. That’s our new, revised American type of justice these days.

The main stream news reported Israel blew up a Gaza hospital, killing upwards of 500. Today, evidence shows it was a missile misfired by Hamas, that landed in the hospital’s parking lot.

Biden fumbled his way to show solidarity with Israel, but was snubbed by Arab leaders, and his speech with Israelis was read off of cards and full of errors.

Before Biden left on his embarrassing trip to,Israel he proposed another aid package, this time for a mere $100 billion. In the meantime mortgage interest rates have gone up negatively effecting the housing industry. Everything is more expensive here in the US, while we send more money we have to borrow to anyone who asks.

    Like

  48. Wouldn’t being “snubbed by Arab leaders” be a sign of solidarity with Israel?

Whatever one thinks about Biden, there is nothing substantive to criticize about his trip to Israel?

Also, I very much doubt the protestors arrested in the Capitol were Antifa, anymore than the pro-Trump rioters on 1/6 were. These were Jewish leftists. If anyone broke the law, they should be held accountable, and they are of course very wrong on what they are protesting for, but it’s pretty weak to compare them to those who committed acts of violence on January 6 or who tried to prevent the certification of an election.

  73. They had no permit to protest. Congressional members were told to shelter in their offices. Some graffiti was done. Commentators were uncomfortable with protesters leaving the ground floor and streaming up to the 3rd floor where interviews were being done.

Unlike the J6 protest, where people were peppered with rubber bullets and flash grenades, causing injuries, the Capitol police conducted themselves in a more civil manner, not creating crowd chaos, like was done to the J6 protesters.
