America is in trouble because of big flaws in the political system:
1. candidates in both parties have to appeal to the extreme base of the party to win the party primaries.
2. Congress–for way too many years–has neutered itself due to House and Senate rules and razor thin “majorities”–to be ineffective and unable to pass legislation to solve problems.
3. The fact that Congress has minimized itself has allowed the president (of whatever party) to rule the nation by Executive Order.
4. Many executive orders go beyond the constitutional power given the president and that results in lengthy court cases challenging his EOs and eventually neuter the EOs after several years of being in force and doing harm.
5. Activist judges in the court system go beyond their constitutional authority to create law.

I have been to Poland. The idea that Poles see any equivalency of threat from Russia and Ukraine is so stupid it is beyond comprehension.
