NYC now has been cited to have 110,000 illegals. Our open, unguarded border has seen millions more streaming across the country to flood schools, taxing our housing and social service systems, bringing in unknowns subject to terrorist whims and/or disease. To counter all this, however, our focus remains only on Ukraine, funding their war, pensions, salaries etc. Those whose concerns about this country see this lopsided kind of government subsidy as both unfair and unwise are instantly branded as Putin supporters, rather than simply American lovers.
Also, while there have been opposing perspectives issued about the current Ukraine/Russian war – even who is winning or losing it – eventually a more factual account will emerge. I bet, much like the Pentagon and Afghanistan Papers have revealed about prior wars, a future “Ukrainian Papers” will show the lies and graft, underneath the very foundation of this conflict, pursued by our government.
Just a few days ago a secret service agent of Jacqui Kennedy came forward, after 60 years of silence, with a first person account that completely refuted the one-person shooter story (sorry Bitter) that the Warren Commission pushed out. They didn’t even interview this person years ago, much like the J6 commission only sought witness accounts that confirmed the government’s narrative. This should remind us to have an open mind to more sides of a story, rather than just the one being hawked by our betters.

Putin is wrong for invading Ukraine. Biden is wrong for his money laundering deviance, giving Zelensky leverage to extract so much funding from him, following Biden’s initial dithering giving Putin the absurd go-ahead for a “small Putin invasion”. The DOD is wrong for not having more scrutiny over where our money and armaments are going – IOW, having an audit. There are far more wrongs than rights in the reasons behind, the implementation and execution of this war than there are rights. For Trump worshippers, November 8, 2016, is the greatest moment of their lives and they just can’t move past it. Because of a series of flukes, the cultists believe that recreating that election night over and over is the only way to win. The aid we provide Ukraine is a drop in the bucket, it would make ZERO difference in a crisis. The cost of the 9/11 attacks to the economy was over $2 trillion and we spend $8 trillion on the war on terror, we can certainly afford $100 or $200 billion to contain Putin and prevent another Cold War that would cost trillions more.
The money we have spent helping Ukraine has been well spent, the proof is in the pudding, the Russians have not been able to annex Ukraine.

It appears the Bush crime family was behind the Steele Dossier leak that promoted the Russian hoax
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/bush-institute-exec-pushing-civility-pledge-leaked-steele-dossier-buzzfeed-2016
The George W. Bush Institute executive who organized a joint statement by 13 presidential libraries pledging to unify to preserve democracy was previously revealed as the person who leaked the infamous Steele dossier to BuzzFeed after the 2016 election.
David Kramer, the executive director of the George W. Bush Institute, spearheaded a statement Thursday signed by 13 presidential libraries dating back to Herbert Hoover.
“By signing this statement, we reaffirm our commitment to the principles of democracy undergirding this great nation, protecting our freedom, and respecting our fellow citizens,” the statement read, in part. “When united by these convictions, America is stronger as a country and an inspiration for others.”

2016 was indeed a massive game changer.
By appealing to the blue collar/working class vote in the rust belt Trump was able to flip WI, PA, MI and even come close in MN, all states that had been out of reach for Rs and which no other candidate would have come close to winning. And he firmly put FL in the R column and again in 2020 with an even stronger win.
And even if you don’t believe there was any fraud, Trump came excruciatingly close to doing it again in 2020, losing by only 42k votes in three states (AZ, GA and WI) and by 30k in NV and 80k in PA out of 7 million votes cast. A minute swing in these 5 states of about 75k votes out of over 20 million cast would have given Trump a comfortable EC win.
So the “evidence” is certainly there, if Rs want to win Presidential elections they need the blue collar/working class, small business owners and a higher share of the minority vote to win.
Where I disagree with the MAGA crowd is that it has to be Trump. Other candidates can appeal to these demographics if they do their homework and have the right message. But they have to earn it.
2016 was the mother of all game changers. Starting with a 6-3 conservative SCOTUS majority, which might be 5-4 liberal or even 6-3 had Hillary won.

Then we have the increased chaos, crime, homelessness, gender distortions, educational problems and crazy authoritarian dictates generated from the left, leaving our society and social structure far afield from where it was at the beginning of the century. Finally, our oil and munition reserves have been sorely depleted by Biden, and our reserve currency status is being tested by a coalition of countries, including China, Russia, Iran, India to trade in another currency other than the dollar, impacting the soundness of our own currency. I actually agree with many of your posted opinions here, Jason. Where you and I are polar opposites is which border’s defense deserves our monies more — Ukraine’s or the U.S.’s southern border. Both areas are having their sovereignty threatened — one by tanks the other by millions of invaders from around the world. Yes, I know “political will” is a major sticking point working against protecting our own border. However, the Biden regime’s easy compliance, addressing Zelensky’s constant demands for “more,” creates diversionary excuses to ignore the concerns and real future problems our own beleaguered border is begging to have addressed. Biden and his officials have deliberately made highly publicized pilgrimages to Kiev, while neglecting to even visit the more problematic crossing points along the Texas, Arizona borders. IMO the House should reduce or withhold Ukraine’s aid until attention is shifted homeward, with some appropriations package passed to slow down the freeway of illegals crossing over from everywhere to here.

“An unexpected shift
One surprising feature of American politics since Trump’s 2016 victory has been the decline in some forms of polarization. Many political analysts (including me) assumed that Trump’s presidency would aggravate racial gaps in voting, given Trump’s embrace of white nationalism. We were wrong. Instead, the racial gaps have narrowed.
White voters have moved toward the Democratic Party, while Asian, Black and Hispanic voters have moved to the right. Voters of color still lean clearly Democratic, and white voters clearly Republican, but the shifts are big enough to matter. White voters have helped Democrats win recent elections in the Midwest and Georgia, while voters of color have helped Republicans keep their hold on Florida and Texas.”

Morgan shared an assessment similar to Vaughn’s, saying that the situation at the border should be “terrifying” to all Americans.
“We know that illegal aliens, before they cross, they dump all their identification on the banks on the Mexico side so it’d be more difficult for U.S. authorities to actually verify who they actually are,” he said. “We know they’re giving fake names. We know that when your policy is to catch and process and release as fast as humanly possible, there’s no way you can actually actually vet them.”
Chad Wolf, former acting secretary of Homeland Security, said the rising number of suspected terrorists encountered by CBP is evidence that the border is not secure and makes the U.S. vulnerable to terrorist activity.
“The number of known and suspected terrorists that are apprehended by this administration over the last two and a half years, it’s over 250 of them, and you contrast that with all four years of the Trump administration, and you’re only talking about probably 13 or 14,” he said. “And so it gives you an idea that the border is more open, it’s less safe, and it’s less secure, really now than it really has ever been in the history of our country.”

Newsom created a panel to look at slavery reparations in California. It may have been a strategy to help him gain the black vote if he ran for president. It backfired:
“The poll found that 59% of voters oppose cash payments vs. 28% who support the idea. Four out of 10 voters “strongly” opposed the idea.
Interestingly, just 19% of those opposed cited cost as an issue. The majority simply says it’s unfair to today’s taxpayers and wrong to single out one group for reparations.
In the Berkeley poll, when voters who oppose reparations were asked why, the two main reasons cited most often were that “it’s unfair to ask today’s taxpayers to pay for wrongs committed in the past,” picked by 60% of voters, and “it’s not fair to single out one group for reparations when other racial and religious groups have been wronged in the past,” chosen by 53%.
Only 19% said their reason was that the proposal would cost the state too much, suggesting that money alone is not the main objection.
Among Democrats, 43% favored and 41% opposed cash reparations. Republicans were strongly against the proposal at 90% with only 5% in favor. Independents were 65% opposed and 22% in favor.
Black California voters were more likely to support cash payments than any other demographic, with 76% in favor and 16% opposed, the survey found. Almost two-thirds of white voters were opposed as were 6 in 10 Latino and Asian voters. -LA Times.”

I’m late with this but I have pay my respects to Wes. Man, we we would go a virtual 12 rounds back in the old days of HHR. He had a weird man crush on Warren Harding. He would call me “Big Left Toe.” The moniker did not stick and he dropped it quickly but I give him props for the attempt at creativity. The last decade we spent being civil and talking mostly statistics and metrics. His analysis leaned right, and in NC it was spot on. I am going to miss the dude, he was a good guy. Rest easy friend.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12510211/us-mexico-border-deadliest-world.html
The US-Mexico border is the world’s deadliest land migration route – with hundreds losing their lives and going missing while attempting to make perilous crossings.
The International Organization for Migration documented 686 deaths and disappearances among migrants on the US-Mexico frontier last year – but the actual figure is likely higher due missing data.
A total of 1,457 fatalities were recorded along migration routes in the Americas in 2022 – marking the deadliest year on record in the region since at least 2014, when the agency first started documenting deaths and disappearances.
And yet the Biden Administration does nothing except lie about how “secure” the border is.

The vast majority of Ukrainians – 78 percent – say President Volodymyr Zelensky is directly responsible for corruption in the government and military, a poll published on Monday found.
The survey, conducted in July by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation and the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology, also found that Ukrainians ranked corruption within their own government as a bigger threat to “Ukrainian entrepreneurship” than the ongoing Russian invasion, according to the Kyiv Independent.

Biden is losing credibility, especially now with the subpoena power the House has via the impeachment probe. This will give republicans the opportunity to finally pursue the web of corruption trade-offs binding Biden, Ukraine and Zelensky together.

If the GOP House finds the Biden DOJ corruption and political assassination of Trump so egregious why not spend the political capital on focusing on Garland instead?
Why help the Dems replace Biden as the nominee?
Anyone got answers that make sense.

So, the op ed in the Washington Post this morning confirms what I have been thinking. The Democratic Party has now finalized their decision. Joe ain’t useful any longer. Democrats have seen enough. They no longer believe he is someone that they can slide across the finish line in a GE a year from now. They’ve determined it’s just not doable. The demented guy just won’t be someone they can sell any longer. Look for Joe to “decide” not to run and to announce it by the beginning of the year.
They had hoped that with Trump bogged down with all his negatives they could make Trump the focus of the campaign and that would be enough to get Joe reelected. He would have already been tossed aside long ago if it wasn’t for Trump being the GE opponent.
All that is left is for Democrats to decide who to run. It will be decided at the top just like it was when Biden was chosen.
When the propaganda rag Washington Post has been given the go ahead to throw Biden off the cliff, you know Joe is history. As was stated above, when the useful idiot is no longer useful any longer it is over.

Romney is one of the best examples of Stockholm Syndrome I have ever seen. By allying himself with the same people that doomed his candidacy by scurrilous attacks on his record, his heritage, his family and his business he showed he was a very weak and unprincipled sellout. He would step on his mother’s neck if somehow it got him on CNN, no one can name one conservative ideal he wouldn’t sell out if it got him kudos from the MSM.
A wobbly, pathetic, spineless stooge of the far left media. I am sorry he will still be around until 2025, I wish he would resign now.

I wish that Romney had said, “I agree with Bitterlaw that Trump is an amoral scumbag. He is not a conservative. I would not trust him if he said 2+2=4. He sucks as a human being but did some good things as President. I regret voting for impeachment. I think the current charges against him are politically motivated garbage. If I was not a Mormon, I would tell him to F off and GFY. Biden sucks, too. Thank you.”

It is looking increasingly likely Biden will not run again. If this happens, see a lot of Democrats running. Democrats will want a new face, not someone associated with the increasingly scandal-ridden Biden presidency. Add to that Harris has not in any way stood out — she is almost a non-entity.
