Some AZ news: Blake Masters plans to enter the Senate race, potentially putting him on a collision course with Kari Lake in the GOP primary
– The Clown Car Party (formerly the Republican Party) continues to show it is no longer interested in being either the majority party or one that remotely cares about governing.
A sane party would throw overboard two electoral losers like Masters and Lake, but this is no longer a sane party. The MAGA cult has destroyed the party in Arizona and Arizona Republicans seem to be cool with that. Jason fraud certainly is.
Normally, seeing two idiots like Lake and Masters run would open the door for a sane Republican to run and win with a plurality, but MAGA has so thoroughly destroyed the party there probably isn’t anyone left on the sane side of the party.

I am amazing there may actually be people out there who take Ramasalami seriously;
“Add physical fitness section to the SAT, Ramaswamy says
(The Hill) – Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy on Monday suggested adding a physical fitness section to the SAT standardized test as a “pro-merit solution” after the Supreme Court effectively ended race-based admissions policies at colleges.
“Now that the Supreme Court finally ended affirmative action, colleges will only further deprioritize SAT scores in favor of subjective factors because of large racial disparities in test results,” Ramaswamy said in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
“There’s a simple way forward that will drive excellence and diversity of talent among incoming college classes: the College Board should add a physical fitness section to the SAT, instead of just math and reading sections,” the presidential contender proposed. “

Personally I don’t know ANYBODY or even heard of anybody who voted for Trump that wouldn’t vote for him again as nominee. No one here at HHR either. Even a TDS moron lime JeffP says he would vote for him over Biden. Walt says no, but he didn’t vote for him in 2020. SDC says no, but didn’t he vote for the McMuffin clown?
Probably gain him some votes since Americans love an underdog, especially one that is a victim of politically motivated charges. But it will lose him some too, some people will believe the state owned media. Most likely a wash. But remember if Trump got the same votes he got in 2020 it will be an extremely close EC race.
The “60% of Americans” won’t vote for Trump is utter garbage, he would get 45% of the vote without even campaigning or campaigning from jail. The problem is that 45% still loses.

Good analysis. I think Trump will retain most people who voted for him before, and pick up more in the minority community. “But did those good and bad performances actually sway any voters? We also asked debate watchers after the debate which candidates they were considering voting for and compared that to their answers before the debate. Haley saw the biggest change in her numbers — 30 percent of debate watchers were considering her before the debate, and 47 percent are considering her after it. North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum (+8 percentage points), Ramaswamy (+5 points) and DeSantis (+4 points) saw more modest increases. Interestingly, only one candidate saw a meaningful decrease in the number of debate watchers considering voting for him: former President Donald Trump, who chose not to attend the debate. This decrease came despite the fact that most debaters chose not to attack Trump in his absence, opting instead to criticize one another.”

Here is what I wrote in the previous thread:
“There seems to be a strong consensus that the debate helped the Golden Calf and wrecked Ramaswamy, even though he came in second in some focus groups and second in the Ipsos poll. That is because he has a narrow appeal to the most isolationist voters. To most viewers Ramaswamy came across as a cocky know nothing completely beyond his pay grade on stage, constantly repeating memorized quotes instead of responding to. what was actually being discussed. The debate put him in his place, so to speak. He needs to run for something other than President, and maybe come back in a dozen years or so with some tangible experience/record he can run on.
From what I read You Need to Feel My Pain Haley tore Ramaswamy a new a-hole on foreign policy, good for her. ”

I am not a populist.
The Republican Party needs to embrace a populist message that appeals way beyond its traditional suburban-rural coalition base.
Both can be true.
If the Republican Party is to survive it must appeal to blue collar/working class/small business owners/minorities everywhere, including exurbs, suburbs and urban.
I never said screw the suburbs, the suburbs have too many votes to ignore, but the GOP has a much better opportunity advancing into what used to be Dem constituencies than it has in reversing the liberal trend in the suburbs, which is the result of a far left wing educational system a lot of suburbanites come from.
The days of the country club suburban elites dominating the R party are over. The tiny tent party Amoral Scumbag pretends he wants and the TDS morons like JeffP advocate for is doomed to failure.

“D.C. will pay $5.1 million as part of a class-action settlement with gun owners who were arrested under laws that have since been found to violate the Second Amendment, according to the settlement agreement.
U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth gave preliminary approval to the settlement agreement on Monday following years of litigation. Lamberth had previously ruled in September 2021 that D.C. arrested, jailed, prosecuted and seized guns from six people “based on an unconstitutional set of laws” and violated their Second Amendment rights.
The laws — a ban on carrying handguns outside the home and others that effectively banned nonresidents from carrying guns at all in D.C. — have since been struck down in federal court. They were part of a “gun control regime that completely banned carrying handguns in public,” Lamberth wrote in the 2021 ruling.
Now, D.C. will pay a total of $300,000 to the six plaintiffs and $1.9 million in attorneys fees, with the majority of the rest of the money set aside for more than 3,000 people estimated to qualify for the class-action.”

Amoral Scumbag LOVED Avenatti and Daniels, to him they were the true symbols of virtue in America. They were going to bring down Trump. Avematti was going to be President. Well, these were the people Amoral Scumbag got in bed with because supposedly Trump was a bad person:
“It was in February 2020 that a jury found that Avenatti tried to extort Nike by threatening to expose damaging information about his allegation that the footwear and apparel company corruptly paid families of college players. Basically, his message was, “cough up $25 million, or I’ll blow the lid on the story” and ruin Nike’s reputation.
Not only did he not get his payday, but he was found guilty of extortion, wire fraud, and transmission of interstate communications with intent to extort. He was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison and fined $260,000, and that sentence remains after Wednesday’s ruling.
This isn’t Avenatti’s only brush with the law, however. In February 2022, he was convicted of stealing from his client, Stormy Daniels, who alleged that she had an affair with former President Donald Trump and that he paid her hush money to keep quiet about it:
Daniels sued Trump for defamation over a critical tweet, but not only did she lose the case and an appeal, but she was ordered to pay almost $300,000 in the former president’s legal fees. Couldn’t have happened to a nicer person. Evidently, Avenatti was not only a crook but a lame lawyer as well.
One thing that bothers me most about much of the coverage during that time is that it portrayed Donald Trump as a predator but Stormy Daniels as a victim. As a happily married father of four, I don’t condone infidelity. On the other hand, if we are to believe Daniels’ allegations are true—which is questionable—why is she a victim? She claims to have had sex with Trump and then accepted his hush money payments.
Most media highlighted her as some sort of sympathetic figure, but aren’t her actions, if you believe her story—incredibly questionable?
Fourteen more years were tacked on last December after Avenatti pleaded guilty to cheating four other clients, including a paraplegic, out of millions of dollars.
Avenatti may be eligible for release in January 2036.
What makes this story interesting is not that it involves sleazy people, including a porn actress and a grifting lawyer. No, what makes it important is that it shines a bright light on how corrupt and standardless most of our national media has become. The press hated Donald Trump to such a degree that they repeatedly trotted out these two moralless creeps in front of the cameras and acted as if they were role models.
They were anything but, but the media didn’t care because the pair were good at selling the “Trump is the Devil” narrative. Some even called for an Avenatti presidential run, an idea that was idiotic at the time but seems even more ludicrous in hindsight.”
Yeah, Amoral Scumbag, even more ludicrous in hindsight.

“The Russians have done what Russians do, dig in. Their defenses are tough, and the Ukrainians are not skilled enough in combined arms operations to break through them. What you have, for now, is a bloody stalemate like the western front of World War I. ”
This may have appeared to be true when he wrote his article. However, since that time the Ukraine has had a major breakthrough in the south in the vicinity of Tokmak, and are now beyond a major part of the Russian defenses.
Now your hearing a new wave of optimism regarding how the Ukrainians are doing in the U.S. and Europe. It also is impressive that the Ukrainians are hitting military sites in Russia with drones almost every night.

Trump’s legal costs are leaving his PAC broke. And he wants other people to foot the bill.
Save America has spent nearly all of the more than $150 million it raised and has less than $4 million. Trump is burning through money so fast that he’s had to even use funds intended for 2024 ads. He had to borrow money to post bail. He also isn’t helping some of his allies who are facing their own legal battles.
– Trump 2024 is the Frye Festival of campaigns. His political effort is going broke, his business faces the real prospect of liquidation by the NY AG trial, and he’s almost certainly going to be convicted of one of the many crimes he committed before election day 2024. In short, Trump’s running to fund his legal defenses in multiple jurisdictions. Yet, many of you are fine with every bit of that. That he’s a crook, that he’s a con artist bilking his contributors, and that he’s going to lose to a near-comatose candidate.
When the bill comes due next November and the usual suspects like Tinfoil, Jan, and Jason fraud are pushing conspiracies about fake vote fraud as a way to claim the race was stolen from Trump, just remember it was they and many like them, easy marks, who made Democrat control of all aspects of American life possible.

This was an unaffiliated PAC that claimed $50 million in “committed donations” but reality had less than $3000 in its account. The founder now has $57 left and intends to support Trump.

Everyone with a brain knows that. If Trump wanted Ratburger to do something illegal, he would have told him privately, not in a phone call with a bunch of people including counsel.

Amoral Scumbag is “concerned” about how Trump spends campaign money.
But his candidate Jeb! spending $250 million to get 4 delegates?
No problem. What a great candidate!

Kemp thinks all the far left MSM types quoting him must love him. They don’t. They despise him. They just use him like they use Mitt Romney and Chris Christie, who would also step on their mother’s throats if it got them praised by CNN.

The worse Russia is doing on the battlefield, the more calls you’ll hear from Kremlin allies, sycophants, and propagandists for fake ceasefires, concessions, and negotiations to give Russia time to rearm and consolidate to prepare a new offensive.

84 years ago, Germany invaded Poland. The Soviet Union invaded from the East on September 17, 1939z. If HHR had existed then, some posters would have said that Hitler and Stalin were just trying to stabilize German-Polish-Soviet Union relations and deal with Polish corruption.

Putin’s invasion of Ukraine has got to be right up there with Hitler’s invasion of Russia as the biggest miscalculation I can think of as far as waste of resources and manpower. Catastrophic for Putin. The guy thought Ukraine would fold the moment Russian tanks began swarming around Kiev. When they didn’t, he had a Vietnam on his hands. Tens of thousands of dead Russians, billions in $$ and equipment down the pigeonhole….and if he had designs on a new Russian empire that train has now eft the station. He’s got about half the military left that he had two years ago. I hate it for us just because of the tens of billions it has cost us and will continue to cost us in the future. We could have used that just to secure our border, but then Biden would never have spent any of the money anyway on our own border. Says all you need to know about Biden’s border priority. Still, I’m glad Biden finally found a border he was interested in defending.
