  1. I think it’s too early to make any prediction as to who will be the R nominee. Even though Trump is far ahead now there are too many variables working against him that could abruptly change his frontrunner status.

  2. Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene issued the following statement following today’s appointment of Davis Weiss as Special Counsel to cover up Hunter Biden’s criminal career:

“Today’s move by Merrick Garland to appoint David Weiss as Special Counsel to investigate (and in reality cover up) Hunter Biden’s criminal career is the latest action in a continuous pattern of corrupt behavior by Joe Biden and his regime. Behavior typically only seen in juntas in third-world nations or early twentieth-century dictatorships in Europe.

This is a cover-up, plain and simple. This appointment is designed to protect Joe Biden from his exposure to the serious and substantial investigation Republicans are conducting in Congress. This move establishes a firewall to protect the Biden family from their crimes of influence peddling and selling access to “The Brand,” former Vice President Joe Biden. Every subpoena, every record request, every transcribed interview, or any other effort in an impeachment inquiry will be be blocked by this corrupt and unlawful Special Counsel under the guise of an “investigation.”

For instance, calling Trump supporters a “cult,” and saying you know about cults because I guess of your perceived professional acumen, is condescending and alienating. IOW, you make no points with people, nor do you open any chance of receptiveness among those you kind of lecture to. Also, those who support trump have all levels of “liking” him. For many it’s simply his earlier performance as POTUS, where he delivered on many of his promises – not all — but a greater percentage than most politicians do, and under a hostile bureaucracy controlled by leftover Obama acolytes..

DeSantis, OTOH, is still an unknown entity, depending primarily on his Fl tenure, but having relatively little national experience and no international experience, as was shown in his dismal 5-country trip earlier, where he received low marks. People are swayed by having more confidence in one person than another.

This means the grand jury has been completely tainted

How can they objectively vote on charges when they’ve already heard of the decision to charge?

Here is part of the transcript of the Trump call to Raffensperger. An insanely stupid telephone call:

“A recording of former President Trump talking to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger:

Flashback: In the hourlong phone call first published by the Washington Post, Trump repeatedly declared he had won the state while at the same time asking Raffensperger to help him find enough votes to overturn Biden’s victory.

“All I want to do is this: I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have. Because we won this state, and flipping the state is a great testament to the country,” Trump said. “I only need 11,000 votes. Fellas, I need 11,000 votes. Give me a break.” “It’s just not possible to have lost Georgia. It’s not possible,” Trump said.”

    ***
“The ballots are corrupt, which is totally illegal,” Trump said. “It’s more illegal for you than it is for them, because you know what they did and you’re not reporting it. That’s a criminal offense, and you can’t let that happen. That’s a big risk to you and to Ryan, your lawyer.” “So, tell me, Brad, what are we going to do? We won the election, and it’s not fair to take it away from us like this. And it’s going to be costly, in many ways.”

    ***
“The only people who like you are people who will never vote for you, you know that, right Brad?” Trump said.”

Trauernicht has published dozens of peer-reviewed scientific studies, and his expertise covers fire ecology, ecosystems, tropical forest and savanna dynamics, and statistical modeling.

These grasses and shrubs, Trauernicht wrote “cover nearly one quarter of Hawaii’s total land area.” This, coupled with “warming, drying climate and year round fire season, greatly increase the incidence of larger fires.” Forbes quoted him as telling The New York Times that bad forestry practices and a failure to understand bio-diversity are far more culpable for making the islands “incredibly vulnerable.”

A study published in 2020 found these unchecked and non-native overgrowth accounted for more than 85% of land razed by a trio of wildfires two years earlier n 2018.”

He points out that some big-assed volcano erupted last year(?) in the Pacific area and it released a bunch of bazillions of tons of water vapor into the air. He went on to say that scientists then stated and predicted that this event will cause some temporary global warming over the next few years. It will take several years for the airborne water vapor to rain back down to earth.

Seems that there was one woman who brought in 8,000 to 10,000 completed voter registration forms into the courthouse one day. Clerk was suspicious. Hundreds of the forms seem to have the same handwriting. Many had fictitious addresses that did not exist, incorrect SS #s etc., etc. Called in the police to investigate. In mean time same woman who brought in the many thousands of filled out voter reg forms in bringing in thousands more, then thousands more.

Police investigate, get search warrants, etc.
Find out that this organization sent out 800,000 voter reg. forms all over MI (Flint, Detroit, etc.). In executing search warrant at the voter reg. operation site, police also find pelican cases containing rifles with sound suppressors, handguns, short barreled shotguns (which turn out to be legally owned and registered). Get amended search warrant for other physical locations. Execute those.

Find lots of voter reg. related st.uff. Lots of pre-paid debit cards, computers, other things.
Interrogation of people finds they work for a D org. Get paid like $18 an hour plus get extra pay for every completed and turned in Voter reg. form. This organization was working in a number of various states. Investigations finds many hundreds (thousands?) of voter reg. forms are squirrel-ly.

And….then they turn the who investigating over to …WAIT FOR IT….

The phone call was recorded. You can find it on line and listen to it:

“It’s been nearly three years since then-President Donald Trump placed a phone call to Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger with an apparent request that would mark the beginning of a political watershed moment: “find 11,780 votes” and declare Trump — not Biden — the winner of Georgia’s 2020 presidential election.

The suggestion, recorded during a Jan. 2, 2021 phone call between the two elected officials, became a key part of an investigation by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who launched an inquiry shortly after to determine whether President Trump and his former allies attempted to criminally interfere in Georgia’s election.”

“President Biden is facing mounting criticism over his response to the catastrophic wildfires in Maui, with former President Trump and other critics keeping the airwaves full of attacks over how he has handled the situation.

The president ran as the empathetic politician who shines in times of crisis, but his reaction to Maui has left political watchers wondering where that Biden has gone. Biden’s “no comment” response Sunday about the rising death toll in Maui has distracted from federal relief efforts he has directed, including the dispatch of federal responders on the ground and the approval of a disaster declaration over the deadly fires.

After briefly speaking about the topic Thursday, Biden waited four days to address the fires until Tuesday when he called them “devastating.” The president said he and first lady Jill Biden would visit the area “as soon as we can,” before he pivoted to prepared remarks about the Inflation Reduction Act on a preplanned trip to Wisconsin to tout his economic accomplishments.”

“The indictment sets out in detail statements that were made by the defendants about voter fraud in Georgia and other states, all of which are alleged to be false. Of course, in the wake of the election, there were many claims of voter fraud. Some of these proved to be true, I think, while others proved to be incorrect. But so what? It is not, in general, a crime to make false statements. If it were, Washington would be a ghost town.

The second main thrust of the indictment involves the fact that Trump and his “co-conspirators” arranged for an alternate slate of pro-Trump electors to be identified in Georgia. The indictment recites efforts by Trump and others to convince officials in Georgia and other states to certify his alternate slates, or otherwise to reverse the apparent results of the election in a particular state. These alternate electors were selected, as White House adviser Stephen Miller explained, to preserve Trump’s rights in the event that one or more of his legal challenges succeeded:

“As we speak, today, an alternate slate of electors in the contested states is going to vote and we’re going to send those results up to Congress,” he continued. “This will ensure that all of our legal remedies remain open. That means that if we win these cases in the courts, that we can direct that the alternate state of electors be certified.”

I don’t think that such alternate elector slates are unprecedented, and in any event there is nothing illegal about identifying such would-be electors, however futile it might be.

    […]

“Overt Act 6” is a typical example of these allegations:

On or about the 21st day of November, 2020, MARK RANDALL MEADOWS sent a text message to United States Representative Scott Perry from Pennsylvania and stated, “Can you send me the number for the Speaker and the leader of PA legislature. POTUS wants to chat with them.” This was an overt act in furtherance of the conspiracy.

But again, so what? Taking legal steps to try to overturn the apparent result of an election is not illegal. That is what Al Gore did. It is what Stacey Abrams did. It is how Al Franken got into the Senate. In Trump’s case, his legal arguments were uniformly weak. But it is not a crime to make a bad legal argument. If it were, the U.S. would be suffering from a shortage of lawyers.”

Trump’s high poll numbers are not going down at all. Personally I hope this changes, and DeSantis gets the nomination. But so far it has not happened.

If anything, the criminal indictments may be beneficial for Trump’s polling — particular when their absurdly amateurish like the Georgia indictments. If Trump gets the Georgia case moved to federal court, which is a strong possibility, it may give Trump a court victory right before the primaries. Even though it is only jurisdictional, it will still make Trump look victorious.

Donald Trump thrives in this environment for one inescapable reason: he is a media event himself.

Other candidates need to try to generate headlines and deliver speeches about issues or policies. He never has. He needs only to show up in person and riff, and he always riffs about himself.

There are no news stories about Trump, and there is no ideology or set of goals behind what he says; there is just Trump.

Headlines about his misdeeds tell voters nothing they didn’t already know from looking at him—he’s sleazy, he’s kitschy, he watches too much TV and reads too many social media posts.”

  348. WOW: MAGA pushed a story last week supposedly proving mass fraud in Michigan in 2020. Turns out, it’s an old story that local news has been covering since October 2020, and instead of proving fraud occurred, it was an instance in which fraud had been successfully thwarted *before* the November 2020 election. No one voted as a result of it.

The Michigan Senate also published a report concluding that although certain things must be addressed and improved, they found no evidence of mass fraud in the 2020 election.

It’s insane how much traction this got. It wasn’t breaking news. It’s been covered by local journalists for years. MAGA took it, put it on its head, and put it in the hands of an army of grifters with social media followings.

The problem with stories like this is that they turn the real issue of election integrity into a joke because these sensational claims can be so easily refuted. It’s the “Kraken” all over again. bridgemi.com/michigan-gover…

Convictions virtually assured in bright blue venues of DC and Fulton County. The case in Manhattan is the most obvious sham but Dems have that covered as Bragg has slowed that case down to a crawl since even in Manhattan that case risks getting thrown out. Dems aren’t going to risk an acquittal or dismissal of that case before the slam dunk show trials in Georgia and DC begin. Convictions by the time of Trump’s nomination or shortly after he’s nominated guaranteeing Trump runs as a convicted felon in the GE. Good luck with that one, Donald. He’ll win on appeal, but those reversals won’t come until AFTER the November election. At that point it will be too late. Four more years, baby!

Imagine if a Glenn Youngkin was the Republican nominee. Democrats would be sh*tting all over themselves. Well, no worries, lefties. Donors and party leaders putting pressure on lessor candidates to withdraw and narrow the field early and coalesce around the best non Trump candidate. He is on TV almost everyday talking about it.

Under the circumstances at some point Reynolds, Sununu might openly endorse DeSantis and campaign with him. It could get that desperate.

After he loses in 2024, he’ll claim the election was stolen, the dopes will believe it, FoxNews will echo it, and everyone will still be under the conman’s spell in 2027 when the 2028 process kicks off.

Phil is correct about Youngkin, though. If the race was between him and Biden, it would be a walk-over for Youngkin and Republicans would gain in the House and Senate. Alas, Youngkin’s not going to run. More importantly, Youngkin is the kind of candidate the sane pre-Trump Republican party, that won huge majorities in 2014, would’ve nominated.

However, I have been assured by Jason fraud that 2014 was a dead-cat bounce. That version of party is never coming back because the populist one obsessed with losing with Trump is here to stay and it’s the only one that can win national elections (even though it can’t).

It is very likely the Georgia case will be moved to federal court. It likely would have happened even if it has been well-drafted and focused on events in Georgia.

But the indictment that was filed reads like a travel log of actions that took place in several states, and involves federal issues and an alleged national conspiracy to interfere in the election of the U.S. President.

I’m focused on 2024. If the Dems win the WH for another four years and especially if the House flips, you can kiss the country bye bye. The Court will be packed, DC will be a state with two more Dem Senators, states like Florida, Ohio, and Texas will have their voting safe guards superseded by ridiculous national voting legislation (voter ID kicked out, ballot harvesting, national mail in ballots, complete banana republic elections), another five million illegals across a non-existent border, citizenship and voting rights to illegals…………….national California one party rule forever. At that point 2028 won’t matter.

  372. I’m not optimistic that the Georgia case will be moved to federal court. It needs to be moved the hell out of Fulton for sure but whether it will or not is a coin flip at best. Anxious to see what Turley has to say about it. I think the likelihood that the hack DA will get her trial of all 19 defendants at one time is unlikely. Frankly, it probably won’t matter. The show trial in DC under that judge and that jury pool is all they need. Even that verdict will be thrown out on appeal but it won’t matter because it won’t happen until after the GE.

Trump will run the same playbook after he loses. He’ll claim the race was stolen, the FoxNews primetime hosts will echo it, and other Republicans will still be too scared to actually run against him.

In February 2021, I took all sorts of grief from Phil and others when I said Trump would run again in 2024 and be the nominee. Trump can’t cede the spotlight and the allure of swiping old people’s money through donations will be too much to pass up.

And if Biden can win at 82, Trump will say why can’t he.
