The Chinese economy is beginning to hit hard times. From NYTs:
“The big story for us early this week was China, which has long stood out as one of the world’s biggest engines of growth. Now it is stuttering. Weaknesses abound across the board, from the country’s ailing property market to falling exports and business investment.
Despite growing calls for state intervention, Xi Jinping appears in no rush to roll out a weighty stimulus”
The Ukraine offensive is making slow progress. A lot of what they are doing now is a probing operation. Most their forces are in reserve. It takes time to get through mine fields and other defensive positions.
The fact the Russians are primarily on the defensive against a country without air power and other modern weaponry says a lot about how weak Putin is.
From NPR:
“William Brangham:
Kimberly, if the Americans were doing this, or a similarly well-equipped force, they wouldn’t be trying to put troops directly on the front line, right? They would be doing weeks of bombing behind the Russian front lines before they activated this way; isn’t that right?
Kimberly Kagan:
Yes, it is.
The United States would also have, with it, close air support and attack helicopters to help make it easier for our ground troops to advance. And the United States also has air assault troops who can actually come in behind the lines and help meet up with troops that are advancing.
So Ukraine does not have any of this. And the United States, therefore, needs to be patient with the amount of time that it is taking for Ukrainians to make advances, and recognize that it is important to compare the Ukrainians to their capabilities and to the Russians, not to the United States of America.”
Meanwhile the Russian general in charge of defending against the Ukrainian attack has been sacked:
“MOSCOW — A Russian general in charge of forces fighting in southern Ukraine has been relieved of his duties after speaking out about problems faced by his troops, a move that reflected new fissures in the military command following a brief rebellion by mercenary chief Yevgeny Prigozhin.
Maj. Gen. Ivan Popov, the commander of the 58th army in the Zaporizhzhia region, which is a focal point in Ukraine’s counteroffensive, said in an audio statement to his troops released Wednesday night that he was dismissed after a meeting with the military brass in what he described as a “treacherous” stab in the back to Russian forces in Ukraine.
Popov said the military leadership was angered by his frank talk about challenges faced by his forces, particularly the shortage of radars tracking enemy artillery, which resulted in massive Russian casualties.”
“Zelensky commented on the pace of the counteroffensive 🇺🇦
“We started a little later… it gave Russia time to mine all our land and build several lines of defense…”
We did not want to lose our people, our personnel and our servicemen, we did not want to lose our equipment, and therefore we were quite cautious about offensive actions.
I would say we’re getting close to a point where the action can pick up the pace because we’re already going through some of the minefields and clearing those areas.”
I would tend to agree. There is no point to a World War I repeat. Soon Ukraine will receive fighter jets and other advanced weaponry. Plus, the future status of Putin appears uncertain.
More proof it’s another liberal hoax.
Hollywood stars are converting all their children to transgenders yet in the rest of the country, it’s rare for parents to do this to their kids.
As I posted months ago. It would take more boots on the ground that Ukraine doesn’t have ie NATO troops, gain air superiority and the best weapons the US has. Which could mean WW 3. The large scale half ass proxy war schemes never work. But when your being objective I am branded a Putin lover or some other label and rooting for Russia.
This was a relatively small sample, so would like to see a few more polls that confirm this. However, Trump is not that popular in Utah. Senator Lee of Utah has endorsed DeSantis. During Senator Lee’s re-election campaign, DeSantis came to Utah and campaigned for Lee.
“Right now we see former President Donald Trump has nearly $23 million in the bank (with potentially much more in his allied PAC, which has yet to report), Sen. Tim Scott at $21 million, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis at $12 million and everyone else below $10 million — with some notable candidates, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Vice President Mike Pence among them, hovering in the $1-2 million range. These numbers echo the polls and show that, at least for donors, the contest right now really is between Trump and DeSantis. But then we have Scott in second with over $20 million, even though only 3 percent of GOP primary voters are telling pollsters they’d vote for him! What’s up with that?”
Putin just blew up one of the most prominent Russian Orthodox church cathedrals in the world.
“The historic cathedral that was badly damaged by Russian missile attack on Odesa belongs to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Moscow – a branch of Russian Orthodox Church active in Ukraine.
Trump DeSantis Nonsense: “The more people get to know him, the lower his polls are going. He will soon not be number 2. He deserves it because he’s a very disloyal person.”
Actually the more I listen to him the more I “like him”. He is a huge upgrade over DJT. Why isn’t Haley, Scott, Pence, Vivek disloyal?
Trump is going to be raging more and more as the days go by as solid conservatives like Mike Lee start supporting DeSantis or begin to talk about who should represent the GOP in 2024 and it won’t be him.
The NYT has a tough look at DeSantis’ campaign and its missteps since he announced his campaign in late May. Basically, the campaign hasn’t raised the money it thought it would, the staff was too big for the money it brought in, and no one seems to know what the campaign’s direction or message is.
Thankfully, it’s July and not November, but time’s a wasting if DeSantis is serious about making a run at conman Donnie. First, he needs to provide voters a reason why they should support him. Picking a fight with Bud Light ain’t gonna cut it. He’s a former Freedom Caucus member who is fluent on policy. Make that the centerpiece.
Second, the story makes clear Desantis and his wife are serving as the campaign’s strategists. That’s bad news. A candidate who is his own strategist is asking for trouble. Just ask Scott Walker. DeSantis needs to hire competent staff to run the campaign so he can focus on meeting voters. Quite frankly, DeSantis needs his own Karl Rove. Heck, hire Rove.
None of the changes may work. It may be that DeSantis just doesn’t have it. It may also be that the primary voters are no longer interested in winning. That would certainly be the message if Trump wins, but DeSantis is the only person who can stop Trump. No one else in or out of the race can.
If forced to make a prediction, I think there’s no coming back for DeSantis. Since election day 2022, it’s been all downhill for him. He misread the primary electorate and what they wanted. He thought it was all about conservative culture wars and it hasn’t been. He spent half a year trying to coax away voters from Trump who will never abandon him.
I believe DeSantis is the only candidate who can beat Trump in the primary, but I also think there will be a sizable market for a credible third-party candidate next year if it’s Biden vs. Trump again. Of course, a third-party candidate is a fantasy, especially if that person waits until next Spring. It won’t work because ballot access would be impossible.
Voters are concerned about the economy, but neither Biden nor Trump are speaking about it. Biden doesn’t know where he is anymore and Trump is only concerned about the 2020 election he lost. If a well-funded candidate started work now on ballot access and made the economy and only the economy his/her message, things might get interesting next Summer, especially if Trump is convicted in of the four court cases he’s likely to face.
So just to piss off Jason fraud, Phil, and the others, I say Mitt Romney should explore a third-party bid now. He won’t do it, but wouldn’t it be interesting to see what a credible three-way poll between Biden/Trump/Romney said right now?
A new Fox Business poll on the GOP nomination race shows Trump with a 34-point lead in the Palmetto State, as over half believe he’s the candidate most likely to defeat President Biden.
The new poll, released Sunday, finds almost half of South Carolina likely Republican primary voters backing Trump in the 2024 primary contest (48%). That number is slightly larger (51%) among those who say they will definitely vote in the February 24 primary.
Lagging far behind is former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley at 14%, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis at 13%, and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott at 10%. No other candidate reaches double-digit support.
Drilling down a bit more in the most recent poll, we see that Trump’s strongest support comes from very conservative voters. The same holds true for DeSantis, though not so much for Haley and Scott.
Trump sees his strongest support among those identifying as very conservative (57%), voters under age 45 (55%), voters without a college degree (53%), rural voters (52%), and White evangelicals (51%).
So there is the road map for the Golden Calf. Why should Trump have 55% of younger people vs the Golden Calf. The Golden Calf can also make inroads with white evangelicals and non-college degree voters.
Of course, not by insulting them as Amoral Scumbag’s brilliant “strategy” calls for.
What they’ve done to attempt to destroy true conservatism is worthy of disdain. You can hate Desantis, (all of a sudden, because you loved him until someone told you not to) but to fall for the OBVIOUS play here is just disappointing. Ramaswamy is playing MAGA like a cheap as…
I am fully confident that Koolaid MAGA and the GOP will f this up for 2024. DeSantis is the obvious best candidate by all measures and it’s not even close.
Amoral Scumbag, as predicted, would never actually support the Golden Calf and is already bailing out on him. No surprise as he calls him a “total bum, clown and Trump clone”. As usual, his excuse for supporting the Democrat is that the R is “running a bad campaign”.
His new candidate is Mitt Romney, you know the guy he came here to celebrate his loss against Obama. This after he regurgitated every MSM talking point against Romney, nothing was too sick, too, low, too despicable. He attacked Romney’s career, his family, his heritage, his religion, his wife, his dog, his cars, his house. THAT Mitt Romney.
Of course, if Romney actually did have a chance of winning, Amoral Scumbag would still vote for Biden just like he voted for Obama.
When you are a POS with the morals of a floating turd, you have absolutely no shame.
I am fully confident that Koolaid MAGA and the GOP will f this up for 2024.”
How come? Could it be that the bogus indictments that you support and the strategy of insulting those that thought Trump was a good President are backfiring?
You reap what you sow.
I am fully confident you are a moron and an idiot.
I think DeSantis is going to have an uphill battle, whether or not Trump remains a viable opponent. DeSantis’s lead up to becoming an official candidate was full of ambiguity. When he finally announced, it was through a medium that was awkward, at best. His funding relies on big donors rather than small ones or the grass roots. From what I’ve seen and heard it’s his wife Casey who runs his campaign and makes most of the major decisions. And, even if Trump were to drop out, the “disloyalty” character trait will shadow him, and not be forgiven by many of Trump’s supporters. Finally, DeSantis’s strong conservative social stances, especially dealing with his 6-week limit line on abortion, is unacceptable to many upper class suburban women who he is trying to woo.
It’s been an education for me recently, bring in political discussions with friends who are very liberal. They all hate Trump, of course. But, when DeSantis is brought up a frequent response is,”Oh, he’s even worse!” I just don’t see a loyal base of voters forming for DeSantis, at this point in the presidential game.
I reap what I sow…WTF? I haven’t done anything. Trump has a cult following any idiot can see that. What rock were you born under? The same people thought DeSantis was the best Governor in the country until Trump told them other wise. Trump is just being used as controlled opposition. Anyone who can’t see that is a moron and idiot.
Is DeSantis actually going to run against Trump, or is he going to run against Disney and now Bud Light? Because if it’s the latter, then he won’t win or even come close. Sadly, I think it’s more likely DeSantis drops out this Fall than he beats Trump. I’m not predicting he’ll quit, mind you. I’m just saying the odds are far longer that DeSantis can win.
Trump won’t be beaten by giving him a free pass. Since June, Desantis has put out videos attacking Gavin Newsom (who isn’t running), Disney, LGTBQ people, and now he’s calling for an investigation into Bud Light. He has not put out any campaign videos about Trump, who leads him by sizable margins in the first two states. Meanwhile, Trump bashes Desantis every single day.
Trump is never going to collapse and DeSantis has shown no ability to coalesce the voters ready to move on from Trump because he has specifically ignored them in favor of placating people who are going to vote for Trump and only Trump.
Could DeSantis change his strategy? Sure. Might it work? Sure. Is there any evidence he will? No. Just as was the case with Jeb! in 2016, the digs just didn’t want to eat the dogfood.
I don’t think DeSantis is going to defeat Trump in the primary. I think a third-party candidate may be the only chance to get a center right Republican elected to the presidency.
Mitt Romney isn’t going to run. Everyone knows that. But it would take someone like him to start a candidacy now if it was to have even the slightest chance of working.
If DeSantis is still in the race by the time the primary rolls around to my state in May 2024, I’ll vote for him. I expect, unfortunately, for the primary to be over by mid-February, though. And to be honest, it’s probably already over now.
Jason fraud thinks running a campaign that says “Trump was awesome, but consider me” is the way to win. I think making Trump’s obvious weaknesses an issue is the way to beat him. But Jason fraud has always been for Trump. That’s why he mockingly calls DeSantis the Golden Calf.
at this point, it’s very easy to see why the gop could lose in 2024.
the trump folks are running a campaign based on tiresome grievance politics with their campaign arm as a grift to pay trump’s legal bills. they can do this because of trump’s current pull on the primary electorate regardless of lowering approvals amongst republicans.
RDS needs revamp his campaign. cut the crap and be serious on policy and media time.
nikki haley is just weird and awkward and can’t seem to find her own voice.
generally like tim scott, but his online operatives are being annoying as well.
the base is very divided and there is one person who wants that: trump. who also wants trump to do that so they win? democrats. *shrug*
If you’re running against Trump but you don’t challenge the idea he really won the last election, you don’t give GOP voters who still buy that line a good reason to think they need to pick somebody else.
There has been so much politicized sludge and misinformation poured into the J6 event, from a constitutional reframing of what Pence was asked to do, to the actual causes of the J6 protest and why it turned into a riot. In fact J6 has become beyond factionalized, with the fall guys being the many imprisoned Americans, free speech, and Trump, the winners being the unpunished provocateurs of J6 and a feeble, corrupted, unworthy Joe Biden and his grifter family.
“The letter was signed by 88 lawmakers, with more signing on by the hour, and similar letters have been signed by other legislators in the swing states, bringing the total to well over 100 total signatories,” Got Freedom said in a statement released late Tuesday.
“These elected officials are not asking Mike Pence to overturn the election results, and they’re certainly not trying to subvert our democracy,” Phill Kline, spokesperson for Got Freedom, said. Kline also serves as the director of The Amistad Project of the Thomas More Society, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit public interest law firm.
“Rather, they’re simply requesting that they be allowed to perform the role required of them by the Constitution — an opportunity that in some cases has been actively denied by their own governors,” Kline added.
Under the Twelfth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, Vice President Pence, as President of the Senate, has a specific constitutional role to play at Wednesday’s joint session of the 117th Congress, convened for the purpose of determining whether or not to accept the Electoral Votes submitted by the Electoral College to Congress as part of the process of selecting the next president.
Trump putting pressure on VPPence to do something unconstitutional on Janury 6th was a fatal mistake.”
That is true.
The election was stolen unless you actually believe there weren’t enough problems and fraud in GA, AZ, and WI that couldn’t overcome 42k votes (21k swing).
Trumps lawyers are preparing a motion to dismiss on the top secret classified documents based on the PRA. Which is the narrative Trump world has and ignorant people like Jason believing is legit. I have read the statute two times and it has nothing to do with Classified documents. The only way the case gets dismissed is on prejudice.
Last March, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said that as a result of significant Western support, the Ukrainian military’s spring offensive had “a very good chance for success.” Former Chief of the British General Staff, General Richard Dannatt, went so far as to suggest that Ukraine’s offensive would be so successful that Putin “may be swept out of the Kremlin” as a result.
Combat reality, however, has now swept away those optimistic claims and exposed the harsh truth: Ukraine is unlikely to militarily evict Russia out of its territory, no matter how many men they feed into battle.
As unpalatable as it is for all supporters of Ukraine, the most prudent course for Zelensky may now be to seek a negotiated settlement that preserves as much freedom and territory as possible for Kyiv. Ending the war now would end the deaths and injuries for tens of thousands of Ukraine’s brave and heroic fighters — men and women whom Kyiv will need to rebuild their country once the war ends.
Unfortunately saving lives is not appealing to those who want to be involved in more brutalization by sending cluster bombs, F-16s and billions more $$ going who knows where.
Trump was instrumental in supporting DeSantis’s primary win over Adam Putnam, and later on in the FL GE. Basically, DeSantis landed the governor’s job with DJT’s assistance. Calling them enemies now seems disingenuous. They are currently “opponents.” Going the enemy route will only estrange voters more from DeSantis.
It won’t matter. Republicans have convinced themselves for three straight elections that reality isn’t something to be strategized around and that walking into brick walls is always preferable.
They’ll do it again in 2024. And they might even do it again after that.
– About 35% of the party absolutely believes this. Another 15% to 25% can be convinced of this in the absence of a credible argument to the contrary. It’s up to the other candidates to persuade the party this isn’t the path to choose. For eight years, no one has chosen to do it on a consistent basis.
You misunderstood completely. My point is RDS is better at not making unforced errors, disciplined, has great aptitude for the law. Not that he and Trump are enemies. RDS is mature enough to acknowledge the best of Trumps Presidency. I only see the animosity coming from DJT.
There weren’t enough problems to overcome the 42,000 votes by which conman Donnie lost in 2020. Why? Because 42,000 more people voted for Biden than Trump in those states. That’s what happens when a candidate spends four years pissing off suburban voters and generally acting like a maniac.
But I always have to remind myself you believe the election was stolen from George Allen in 2006 so you’re susceptible to conspiracy theories that have no basis in fact. If Trump told you he was actually elected to be the King of England, I have no doubt you would defend the claim and say Charles stole it from Trump.
This is hard for Jason fraud to understand, but only 35% of the Republican Party (maybe 20% nationally) actually believes Trump won in 2020. The rest of the country (those who don’t have irreversible brain damage) know that conman Donnie lost to Biden. I’d be embarrassed if I lost to a guy who has mashed potatoes for brains, but maybe Trump shouldn’t have spent four years pissing off suburban voters, telling them to drink bleach, and generally acting like a maniac.
Jason fraud wants the other candidates to say Trump is right because he knows that is, in effect, an endorsement of Trump. And since Trump is who Jason fraud wants to win, it makes perfect sense he would advocate for a strategy by which the opponents of Trump cede their support to him.
Jason fraud, as is the case with the rest of the Trump cult, is in desperate need of deprogramming, but cults like the one conman Donnie has created usually only end with cyanide laced Kool-Aid. Maybe another big loss in 2024 will finally cure Jason fraud of his Trump addiction, but I doubt if. If conman Donnie says the race was stolen, Jason fraud will be all in on a Trump 2028 run and so will FoxNews.
The stronger critique of the DeSantis social media strategy is that by leaning into memes and nonsense they validate the suicide cult portion of the GOP that’s already given up on 2024, 2028, and America, and wants to play at being martyred because it’s easier than working.
– This is very true. A lot of Trump worshippers find meaning in losing. They believe if a candidate wins, it’s because that person compromised. If they lose, it’s because they were pure of heart and didn’t cave to the globalists.
It’s the “heads I win, tails you lose” strategy of Trumpism. Either way Donnie wins.
– He allowed to Trump to bash him for four months without responding. Effectively, Trump was able to define DeSantis before he hit the starting line.
– DeSantis felt the need to placate pro-Putin TV host Tucker Carlson with a terrible written answer on Ukraine in March that said “tough” to Ukraine.
– DeSantis decided not to hold a standard campaign kickoff speech and eschewed the media that would have come with it. He got no announcement bounce.
– DeSantis kicked off his campaign by doing a glitch-filled Twitter Spaces event (whatever that is) with two pro-Putin people in Elon Musk and Mike Sachs.
– DeSantis has already had to lay off some portion of his staff and, after just two months, is talking about a reboot.
The good news for DeSantis is that it’s July 2023. There is time for a top-to-bottom rethinking of his campaign. The bad news is that he seems unwilling to acknowledge that the strategy he thought would work isn’t going to work. A reboot needs to be a reboot. Not rearranging the deck chairs on a sinking ship. New staff from top to bottom.
DeSantis is the only person who can beat Trump in the primary. If he can’t turn it around, forget about it.
Jan – I know you understand that if military aid to Ukraine, then Russia wins. I don’t understand why that is acceptable to you. Ukraine has nothing to do with China or the US border. We should be handling all 3.
We see the war and the end game to it differently Bitter.
The effort to keep Ukraine out of Russia’s dominance should have been prioritized when Russia was first threatening to invade it at its border. The U.S., the EU, and even Zelensky did not take Putin seriously, dithering until the invasion finally happened. Although there have been flashes of Ukraine’s bravery & brilliance it remains no match to Russia’s economy, manpower and ability to weather warring circumstances, unless a constant infusion of heavy armaments, special ops, training, money to even pay it’s government employees is directly marshaled into Ukraine’s economy and hands with little to no oversight.
There is virtually no end in sight as long as these vast resources keep pouring into this war-torn country – it’s almost equivalent to sustaining a brain dead patient on life supports. It also feeds Zelensky’s almost delusional ambitions to re-take Crimea and the smaller land masses Russia has taken over, as long as his demands of more and more aid are met. Caught in the middle are the Ukrainian people, many who are young, inexperienced and forced to fight, whether they want to or not. What I find unacceptable is how the only thing people seem to eye is “winning,” while the country is crumbling around them and people are suffering and dying. A negotiated peace should be what leaders want to forge, probably giving some concessions to Russia, as long as Russia leaves most of Ukraine intact, and goes home.
Thanks for the clarification. I’ve not liked Trump’s earlier ads attacking DeSantis.I thought it was unnecessary and didn’t really accomplish much except to whip up agitation among opponents. However, Trump has explained his grievance with DeSantis more in recent times, showing disappointment in DeSantis’s “disloyalty” in not being straight with him about running for the presidency. That was an error on DeSantis’s part, to be evasive about his plans with a man that used to be like a mentor to him.
Speaking of Ukraine, am curious if this will turn out to be true.
“Russian military sources claim Ukrainian Armed Forces are approaching Tokmak, last major settlement 63km north of Melitopol, and Volnovakha, last major settlement 65km north of Mariupol. Squeeze of Berdyansk on the coast expected and Russian units will be encircled on both sides.”
Nate Silver is being ripped to pieces by liberals because he now sees that Fauci & friends were likely participating in a cover up regarding the possibility of a lab leak. Silver, unlike other liberals, refuses to lie.
“Nate Silver
@NateSilver538
That we have a record of their internal communications, and that they’re extremely explicit that they think a lab leak is plausible if not likely, and also extremely explicit that they’re going to say the opposite in the paper for political reasons, and also lie to reporters.”
“Alleged breakthrough by Ukrainian Bradleys and Leopard 2A6 tanks – unconfirmed, and location unknown so far, but one of the first such videos I’ve seen. Ukraine tight-lipped with info from front, but things might be starting to move…’
Wife, son and I are heading out to see Oppenheimer in IMAX. Wife said it had to be on IMAX because Morning Joe said so. We are happy to wait for Barbie on streaming.
Negotiations usually entail compromises. What you have is a “Victor takes all” kind of mentality, found in video gaming. However, this war is not a video game, and Ukraine realistically does not independently have the wherewithal to go head to head with Russia without destroying infrastructure, people, and most likely losing the war in the end.
“Moscow was attacked overnight by several drones and inflicted severe damage. The Russian Ministry of Defense calls it “an act of International Terrorism”.”
Of course but it’s Barbie. I did not expect it fo be like Saving Private Ryan. It was also critical of women putting other women down. The movie was also sympathetic towards Ken because he never really has a role. Girls play with Barbie and imagine her doing cool things. What does Ken do? He is just a boyfriend without a job.
My daughter and her friends did the Barbenheimer thing on Saturday. They saw Oppenheimer first and then had dinner. They finished off with Barbie. She thought Oppenheimer was good. She loved Barbie. I just don’t have it in me to spend 5 hours in movie theaters in one day.
You buy into Trump as a brand at the primary level, therefore his ideology is almost wholly irrelevant. When he does something good you defend the brand. When he does something bad, he didn’t but was forced to by some other nefarious influence so impossible not even Trump could refuse it, so you’re still defending the brand.
People in my industry incessantly promote him because they think it is good for their brands. They don’t hold him accountable on substance because they believe it is bad for their brands to do so.
This is why I don’t believe DeSantis can beat him in this primary by going to war with him, but he has to build an alternative brand. If you spend too much time talking Trump, even if it’s negative, you’re still promoting his brand.
You cannot definitively defeat him, because that brand loyalty has too high a floor. So you must build an alternative brand without the diehards that has the higher ceiling, The kinds of people who are proud they never took the poison poke, but still want to ride or die with the guy who is proud he created that very poison, are the diehards you are never moving. Thus, you must build an alternative brand. Ignore them and don’t engage them, because they are Trump’s floor and unmovable. You need to lower Trump’s ceiling instead.
Unfortunately for the Right, the rest of the country keeps rejecting the Trump brand.
Kelly was also a good softball player in law school. During the Moot Court Final, she argued to a panel of 3 Federal Judges, including Justice Scalia. On the other end of the spectrum from our class, I am writing a workers compensation Brief.
Morning Consult: Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin’s approval rating hits all-time high
Approve/Disapprove:
Jan ’22: 51/35 (net +16)
Apr ’22: 53/35 (net +18)
Dec’ 22: 55/34 (net +21)
April 23: 56/32 (net +24)
JULY 23: 57/32 (net +25)
– This is the kind of approval rating a Republican can have when he/she steers clear of Trump and his retinue of losers. Youngkin is precisely the kind of Republican the party, if it was sane, would want to nominate.
I guess if DeSantis continues to faceplant, Youngkin might take a second look at the race, but he has until mid-October to file for Nevada so that’s the deadline for anyone looking to enter the race. Youngkin won’t run, but this probably would’ve been his time. I’m dubious he’ll have much of a following in 2028 when he’ll have been three years out of office.
“Ukraine Police have shut down bot farm. Officers detected more than 1.5 million accounts across various social media, email and instant messaging services. Which served to advance Russian propaganda
The materials released online contained, among other things, justifications for Russia’s occupation of Ukraine. more than 100,000 SIM cards were used to register the said accounts. They were seized by police officers.”
I wonder when we will start seeing some Newsome GE polls.
No way Democrats go with Biden. Has nothing much to do with his overall approval numbers – at least not directly. Specifically, it relates directly to his mental and physical decline. It’s just gotten too difficult to hide….and a year from now it will be impossible. He would already have been thrown overboard if it wasn’t for the prospect of running against a severely wounded Donald Trump.
Erick Erickson
@EWErickson
These people got tired of waiting for a message shift (from DeSantis) to happy warrior, veteran, pro-America, let’s get people back to work and America back to being awesome for everybody. They’re getting the upbeat message from Scott and they like it.
Erick Erickson
@EWErickson
That’s why I think it was a mistake for DeSantis to go from the Jake Tapper interview back into Bud Light Redux. He’s not winning Trump supporters with anti-woke, but he is losing others who had wanted to be with him and a lot of them are going to Scott.
– Erick Erickson makes an important point. DeSantis has served as a “parking lot” for voters like me who wanted someone other than Trump. We thought he had the best chance so that’s who we supported. But at every key moment, DeSantis has reverted back to culture warrior rather than policy guy. This is causing some to look around or leave the “parking lot”.
I guess that’s just who DeSantis is. A culture warrior. It’s clearly what motivates him because it seems to be his default position when he gets his back up against the wall. This kind of stuff was fine in the 2018 primary against Putnam and even against a very weak candidate like Charlie Crist, but running for president is a full spectrum experience. So far, DeSantis, just has the culture war stuff.
DeSantis really needs to pivot to policy. I’m not sure how motivated primary voters are by policy anymore, but it really seems like the last, best way for him to carve out his own niche in the primary before Trump just swamps everything. And to be honest, the few good moments DeSantis has had so far have been when he’s discussed policy like on Jake Tapper’s show.
Speaking of movies. My daughter works two summer jobs (60 hours a week) to help pay for her private university tuition and board. We match what she earns. One of her jobs is at a smaller chain theater that has electric reclining leather chairs…it has spoiled me as the only way I want to watch a movie at a theater anymore lol. Best of all…if she takes me it’s free including the popcorn.
It’s clear Newsom has positioned himself to be the heir apparent if Biden chooses not to run, but it ironically could be the thing that crushes Trump. If Newsom or any other Democrat became the de facto party nominee today, Trump’s standing in GE polls would collapse. The only thing holding Trump’s numbers up is voter reluctance to vote for a man who will be 82 years old on election day and is clearly showing mental decline.
If I was asked to choose between DeSantis and Youngkin, I would choose Youngkin. It would be a no brainer for me. I think he’s a much easier sell to suburban Republicans who have gone with Democrats in the age of Trump. Sadly, he’s not going to run.
That said, I suspect Youngkin would face the same problem DeSantis has faced. How to deal with Trump. Trump would immediately turn his slime gun on Youngkin, FoxNews would repeat every attack, and Youngkin’s numbers would suffer. All the while, Youngkin would, just like DeSantis, refuse to return fire against Trump.
One thing I do think Youngkin would do far better than Desantis, though, is set up a high-quality staff. For a lot of reasons, the staff around DeSantis have hurt him.
I hate it when people do (and post and read) NATIONAL polls on who they will vote for for POTUS.
In Nove. of 2024 there will be 50 states (plus DC) that will have elections and vote for POTUS and will have elector college votes cast as a result of who will be elected president. I do not give a rip about NATIONAL polls. The 50 state (and DC) polls are the ones that matter.

I till have some hope (however dim) that soon Trump will be convicted of more legal things and that VBiden will be impeached and removed from office due to his and Hunter’s pay to play bribe shemes and that the U.S. voters will not see either Trump or Biden on the ballot in 2024.
So-called “Dark Money” is legal, although it is not something controlled by a candidate. It is typically the Left Wing that rails against the Citizens United Supreme Court ruling on this matter.
“Foreign Donations” are not legal and would have no logical connection to so called “dark money.”
So what exactly is the source claiming that Biden, or any candidate for that matter, is receiving “foreign donations” or will have funds raised from foreign sources on hand?
It this some sort of Q-Anon claim? Please provide a link.
The head shot to the political assassination. I am sure this is related to the Faux Electors scheme.
A potential indictment of former President Trump in the special counsel's Jan. 6 investigation could come as early as Tuesday of this week, CBS News @MacFarlaneNews reports. pic.twitter.com/9oFCmG6DDr
I doubt the January 6th indictments will be about the speech and Capital riot. Probably related to GA and MI electors…we will see. I don’t think it’s going to be good for two reasons…high probability someone close to Trump flipped on him and DC jurisdiction. We will find out soon it looks like.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news. But regardless of how politically motivated and corrupt the indictments are Trump is going to be found guilty of something eventually and will need a pardon. I am sure he will keep on campaigning regardless. Then we have Biden with real impeachable crimes and will probably get away with it. Crazy is as crazy does. Our country is so messed up.

It was reported today that Biden will have $2 billion on hand of dark money (foreign donations) for the 2024 election.”
********************************************
Dark money?
That sounds racist.
If you listened to the RDS interview with Russell Brand you would know he is the most morally sound libertarian candidate running. Much more than Trump. Vivek is weak on minor gender and woke military issues.
So called “dark money” has absolutely nothing to do with “foreign donations.” Foreign donations are illegal. Where did janzam come up with such nonsense? No Presidential candidate or candidate for any office, in any party, is counting on having “foreign donations” on hand.
jan, either retract, provide your source so that it can be examined, or accept that you have demonstrated yourself to be an absolute nutcase.
No, that cannot be the source you claim to have read this on. You said “Two billion in foreign contributions.” This article does not say that.
It speaks of an American organization giving “tens of millions.” That is very different from “two billion” and very different from “foreign contributions.”
jan, since you claimed it was “reported today”, show us specifically where you saw
1. $2 billion.
2, $2 billion in foreign contributions.
We already know candidates in both parties receive many millions of dollars in soft money that goes to SuperPACs that are legally not allowed to be communicated with by a campaign. That is not “2 billion for Biden though” and especially not “2 billion from foreigners.”
And yes, George Soros has been an American citizen since 1961 in case that is what your angle is.
Trumps approval rating and vote percentage within the GOP was pretty high in 2020. I think 50% is actually not very good for a one term popular President. I think as indictments pile up and reality sets in he will bottom out at 30-35% that will vote for him regardless. The question will be will he get the Bernie Sanders treatment around before Super Tuesday.
McCarthy says house is getting serious about impeaching Joe. I will believe when I see it. Senate will never convict. I am thinking both Biden and Trump won’t make it to the nomination finish line.
Walt drew jury duty from August 28 through Sept 29.
He has a flight to Boston and will be in NH from August 29 thru Sept. 2.
He also has a 59th anniversary trip to Hawaii from Sept 10 thru Sept. 18.
The court officials excused Walt from being on jury duty those days.
BUT THEY STILL DEMAND AND EXPET HIM TO SHOW UP FOR THE OTHER DATES.
So Walt will be on jury duty on August 28.
Then excused from jury duty August 29 thru Sept 2.
Then back on Jury duty from Sept 3 thru Sept. 9.
Then excused from jury duty from Sept 10 thru Sept 18.
Then back on jury duty from Sept 19 through Sept 29.
*************************************************************
HOPES:
I hope those involved in the jury trials do not notice I am absent so much.
(maybe they willl have a carboard cut out of me there in the jury box)
I hope I don’t experience a flight delay on returning home.
I hope I get paid for all the days they excuse me from jury duty.
I hope I don’t fall asleep in the jury box on Sept. 29 due to jet lag.
I hope I do not going to be required to read all the transcripts on the days I am absent and excused.
Some Aussi sensible thinking – not being slammed as wanting Putin to win, but rather focused on bringing “peace to the region.”
Instead, Brussels should be hell-bent on promoting a ceasefire between Kyiv and Moscow to help bring peace back to the region.
“Until then, the EU’s behavior can only be described as a brazen Brussels rip-off that has turned into the ultimate disaster for the European financial budget,” she claimed.
More than €60 billion has flowed into Ukraine since the beginning of the war, and the European Union wants to approve even more funding through the European Peace Facility. This, however, comes at an additional cost for member states, and net contributors to the EU budget, like Austria, aren’t impressed.
“Our hard-earned prosperity over decades is incessantly sent to Ukraine by the EU,” Steger said, adding that the federal government supported Brussels in its plans and gave the European Commission its nod.
Her party colleague Axel Kassegger also criticized the European Union and the Austrian government for not being firmly opposed to the deployment of cluster bombs in Ukraine by the United States.
Man, this doesn’t make sense. Why does he have to make everything so dang hard and hard on himself all the time? Why make an enemy out of our governor? https://t.co/xPvGLFR6Nl
His treatment and disrespect of Reynolds is a testament to his lack of maturity. Trump either thinks the nomination should be handed to him with little effort, is afraid of critique debating and discussing issues or is only in the race to put off trials and help pay for his lawyer fees. OR ALL THREE.
I love the total hypocrisy of those criticizing the Ukraine for being given cluster bombs for military purposes. Yet they ignore the fact Russia has been using cluster bombs on civilians, and they ignore the war crimes of Putin deliberately murdering civilians by bombing cities. Have any Putin appeasers on this board ever criticized Putin’s murder of civilians in Odessa?
Unfortunately, this kind of behavior from Trump is precisely what about 35% of the party wants. Someone who will burn the whole place down. For the life of me, I can’t understand why his opponents don’t make this self-destructive behavior a campaign issue. If they don’t, I’m afraid we’ll be in the same place four years from now with Trump once again leading the pack.
Trump is really enjoying playing the victim and blaming of the top conservative Governor’s in the country on his indictments. This is I freaking believable.
This is an email sent by the Trump team today. Reading it, you’d think Desantis is leading the charge to force more indictments on Trump and he’s a crazy leftist, hell bent on joining the team attacking him.
Agree, Trump is cracking under pressure and is coming across as a nut job. His call several months ago for the suspension of the Constitution and for him to immediately be appointed President was a sign he was losing it.
“Trump accusing @RonDeSantis of “colluding” with the DOJ to stop the “MAGA movement” shows just how crazy and disconnected Trump has become.
Trump is scared. He knows he might be going down with this legal trouble, and he is lashing out at RDS.”
Why is Donald Trump still so focused on DeSantis if RDS is supposedly now in 3rd place and running a terrible campaign?
– McCain’s campaign nearly collapsed in July 2007, but he had been part of national politics for almost three decades and, most importantly, he knew exactly what he believed. I don’t think anyone can say that about DeSantis. At least not the part about having been involved in national politics for a long time.
What DeSantis needs more than cost cutting measures or an “insurgent attitude”, as his allies have suggested, is competent staff who have a track record in presidential politics. It’s never good when the candidate functions as his own strategist. Just ask Scott Walker.
DeSantis needs a real strategist, a real campaign manager, and a real communications director who can do that work for him and allow him to just deliver the message. If nothing else, it would give his operation credibility with the press corps and that would, at least for a while, put an end to the palace intrigue stories.
Is Trump cracking under the pressure, or is this just always who he has been? I think it’s always who he has been. He’s a con artist, a charlatan, and a cheat. He’ll do and say anything needed to get through the moment.
I think Trump is focused on DeSantis solely because DeSantis is really the only candidate in the race who could conceivably beat him. Haley and Scott are running to be Trump’s VP so they’re no factor. Pence is irrelevant, and Ramascammy is just grifting. If Trump keeps the heat on DeSantis, DeSantis may never be able to get up off the mat.
I’m resigned to Trump as the nominee because the party is full of idiots, but Trump is doing this also to make sure no one else gets in the race. While I don’t think Youngkin could beat Trump, he is the kind of candidate who could coalesce a large portion of the party that wants to move on from Trump. And let’s be honest. No one in the race is speaking to the group of people who want to be done with Trump.
I love the total hypocrisy of those criticizing the Ukraine for being given cluster bombs for military purposes.
Condemnation for the use of cluster bombs is applicable to any country. That’s why so many nations, including the UK, have banned them. Saying anyone specifically not including Russia in that condemnation is rooting for Putin is a pathetically contrived charge. Fundamentally, the whole gist of criticizing giving Ukraine cluster bombs is because I didn’t think the US would stoop as low as Russia, by supplying these ruthlessly destructive missiles to another country, that can kill and maim people years after being deployed! It’s an insanely cruel move!
Amoral Scumbag doing what he always does. Attack the campaign of any R he views as a threat to his Dem candidates before finally stating that alas he has to vote for the Dem.
I love the total hypocrisy of those criticizing the Ukraine for being given cluster bombs for military purposes. Yet they ignore the fact Russia has been using cluster bombs on civilians, and they ignore the war crimes of Putin deliberately murdering civilians by bombing cities. Have any Putin appeasers on this board ever criticized Putin’s murder of civilians in Odessa?”
Of course not. Janzan and the rest HHR Putin Brigade are fine with the Russians using cluster bombs, but they want to make sure the do so with impunity. Giving the Russians a taste of their own medicine is bad because it delays what the Putin toadies want, an unconditional Ukraine surrender.
Steve Doocy Pitches Glenn Youngkin 2024 Run After Ron DeSantis’ Failure to Launch: ‘Lot of People Like What He’s Doing’
– I know recent stories suggest Rupert Murdoch wants Youngkin to run so I guess it’s mildly interesting Doocy suggested this. I doubt he’s doing it at the behest of Murdoch, but he’s probably aware Murdoch wants Youngkin.
This reminds me a bit of the General Petraeus boomlet in 2011 on FoxNews. Murdoch and Ailes sent KT McFarland to Afghanistan in very early 2011 to tell Petraeus he should run for president. He didn’t (a good thing since he was caught mishandling classified documents), but both men wanted someone other than Romney.
I think in recent months Doocy has been more resistant to another Trump run than his other two morning show hosts. I’d like it of Youngkin ran, but he won’t and the party has a death wish with Trump. The base is almost completely consumed with 2020 conspiracies (thanks to FoxNews).
There is a silver lining in those polls above. It ends the nonsense that Vivek is “tied” with the Golden Calf. Those polls show the Golden Calf firmly in second place. As such, even if he comes in a strong second in delegates and Trump does not get a majority, only a plurality of delegates, the Golden Calf should “inherit” most of the other delegates.
But to do that the Golden Calf has to be attractive to at least some of the Trump supporters.
The Golden Calf can win as a better Trump. As the anti-Trump, he will lose.
Can never repeat this too many times. Ignore the “advice” of people who would never support or vote for the Golden Calf in a million years, like Amoral Scumbag.
Know a lot of Russians who have come to the U.S. and are doing well. Think of how well Russia would be doing if the paranoid, nut job Putin had not taken power:
“The exodus of Russians started after many highly educated professionals — such as academics, finance, and tech workers — left Russia in the early days of the war, Insider’s Jason Lalljee reported in March 2022. About six months later, there was another wave of departures after Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a partial military mobilization for the Ukraine war on September 21.
By October, about 700,000 Russians had left the country, Reuters reported, citing Russian media — but the Kremlin rejected those numbers, saying it didn’t have this data.
Many of these Russians landed in neighboring countries, setting up new lives and businesses, and ended up boosting the economies of these nations, the independent Russian media outlet Novaya Gazeta reported Friday.”
It’s not attacking the campaign to note that DeSantis is laying off 1/3 of his staff after just two months. It’s stating the facts. And right now, the fact is DeSantis’ campaign has hit the rocks. Could he have a “Lazarus moment” and come back from the dead? Sure. Is it likely? I don’t think so.
DeSantis is the only candidate in the race who can credibly beat Trump, but he has performed very poorly so far. Just look at the polls, both the good and the bad. He allowed Trump to define him for four months without hitting back at all. It was a strategic blunder that may have crippled his campaign even before his “Twitter Spaces” rollout with Putin fanboys Elon Muck and Mike Sacks.
Still, cleaning house and hiring staff with presidential campaign experience would be a good way to get back in the race and get the media off his back.
If DeSantis finishes second in IA, NH, SC, and NV, he’ll be out of the race. That’s just the way it works. He will not stay in the race until all of the primaries are over. And at some point in March, the primaries become winner-take-all anyway so Trump will get more than the number need by the end of the month, certainly by early April.
DeSantis either shows momentum in the Fall and stops Trump in IA, or the race is over.
I can never repeat this too many times. Ignore the “advice” of people who call their preferred candidate the “Golden Calf”. In the Bible, the Golden Calf is a false idol and the fraud knows that. That’s why he chose the phrase. The fraud’s idol is Trump and only Trump.

@ToddHeadleeAZ
Just because DeSantis doesn’t have the balls to play dirty politics publicly doesn’t mean he’s not doing it actively behind the scenes and in cahoots with some of the slimiest and nastiest players in the GOP. He chose to get into the 2024 ring and he will either sink or swim. So far, all he’s proven capable of in this campaign is barely keep his head above water.

It seems while everyone is pointing out the dirty pool Trump is playing, the political cabals behind the scene are being ignored, that have knifes out for Trump’s demise. Almost every one of Trump’s opponents are depending on phony indictments to once and for all end DJT chances of winning the presidency. For instance DeSantis had a donor shindig in Utah where members of the Club for Growth, and other Trump haters, gathered to reboot RDS’s struggling campaign. Romney is also on the hunt to find a strategy that would direct all funding to one strong Trump opponent that could compete with his largesse. I don’t know who or what will be successful in taking Trump down. However, the more you see how the political sausage is made by others trying to beat him, the more Trump appears to rise above it all.
Jan you had me fooled. I know your a Trump fan girl 👧…which is fine but I thought you were more of an independent thinker and not a koolaid drinker. The only reason you don’t like DeSantis now and post crap about him is Trump and his ardent fellow koolaid drinkers tell you what to think about RDS. I think the whole loyalty card to Trump is hilarious. Trump is loyal to know one. All the Trump loyalists thought RDS was the best Governor until Trump told them not to like him any more. Spineless.
Finally, RDS a gives a point by point explanation as to why he is running now if you are paying attention. Every reason is excellent and important for the time in which we live.
Liberals are in full meltdown after Nate Silver pointed out that Fauci’s cohorts were caught in a total lie at the beginning of the COVID epidemic. Fauci forced the researchers to publish a paper denying a lab leak was possible, despite their E-mails stating it was very possible:
“Nate Silver
@NateSilver538
That we have a record of their internal communications, and that they’re extremely explicit that they think a lab leak is plausible if not likely, and also extremely explicit that they’re going to say the opposite in the paper for political reasons, and also lie to reporters.

Friend,
The evidence exposing the Biden Family’s criminal behavior is explicit and SHOCKING.
And now, after I exposed Hunter Biden for sex trafficking and committing tax fraud after writing it if off as a “business expense,” Biden’s high-powered Democrat attorneys have painted a big red target on my back. . .
Democrats pretended to be outraged about the images I showed from Hunter’ laptop but these are the same Radicals that are promoting drag queen story hour and fighting to keep pornographic material in children’s schools.
What Democrats are ACTUALLY outraged about is that I revealed how the FBI and DOJ are REFUSING to prosecute these crimes!
Where are the so-called feminists on the other side of the aisle?
The women being trafficked are clearly victims but Democrats are looking the other way like the Department of “Injustice” who are protecting the Bidens.
STAND WITH MTG
Make no mistake, as we continue to uncover the crimes of the Biden Family it becomes clear that all roads lead to Joe and reveal how the President is COMPROMISED.
From a FD-1023 form recently acquired and released to the American public by Congressional Republicans we know that before the 2020 election the FBI was approached by a highly credible source revealing Biden’s pay-to-play schemes with a Ukrainian oligarch.
The FBI source confirmed that Zlochevsky (CEO of Burisma) told him that he paid the Bidens MILLIONS so that Hunter would end Ukraine’s criminal investigation into the company “through his dad” who was overseeing U.S. policy in Ukraine at the time as VP!
Despite this evidence the FBI had BURIED the story and hid it from IRS investigators looking into the Biden’s finances.
As long as Joe Biden delivers the marxist agenda of Globalist Elites the Deep State and their allies in the fake news media will not go after him or his family.
The irony is not lost on me that the agencies covering up these crimes are the same ones that accused parents attending school board meetings of being terrorists, investigated churchgoing Catholics for extremism, and persecuted Donald Trump for the crime of being ahead of Joe Biden in the polls!
That’s why I have filed articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden, Attorney General Merrick Garland, and FBI Director Christopher Wray for the politicization and weaponization of the federal government!”
I like Trump for his policy stances and how he stands by most of them, defying, if need be, consensus thinking of both establishment Dems and republicans. The Trump administration oversaw a good economy, an increasingly secure border, a decrease in drug deaths and human trafficking, a robust energy policy, no new wars, getting out of the WHO, various trade agreements, climate change and Iran agreements, to list only a few accomplishments.
Consequently, I’m not turning my back on him because a newer candidate (DeSantis) has risen up, is generally mimicking Trump’s strong stand on issues, while cavorting on the sidelines with those who want to take him down, and then doing poorly to capture the all important grassroots segment of conservative voters. I also think it sets a dangerous precedent should politically-contrived indictments become legitimized, along with a widely disputed election that a growing number of people (62% in the latest Rasmussen pole) think the election of 2020 was probably interfered with.
My own (probably naive) opinion on the 2024 election is to let it ride out, without all the back room conniving, back-stabbing, and unnatural sums of money being collected and thrown around. Also, take out all the scummy tactics employed in 2020 to inflate ballot numbers, many of which were illegally tabulated. A good plurality of voters no longer trust elections to be honestly run. Why not address their distrust by addressing their concerns openly, regarding the voting machine and irregularities noted in 2020?
In the Bible, the Golden Calf is a false idol and the fraud knows that. ”
Zzzzzz…..
Except I don’t consider him a “false idol”. Much to the contrary, I kind of view him as our last hope to reverse or at least slow our steady march to socialism. Lose the WH, Senate and House and we are a socialist country, book it.
I coined the phrase “Golden Calf” to describe DeSantis to mock the TDS morons here like JeffP and Neville Allen who were absolutely certain Trump was “finished” because they thought the fake indictments and other anti-Trump propaganda was going to hand the nomination to the Golden Calf on the silver platter. i also mocked them for saying that the Golden Calf would have the blue collar/working class vote nailed down because the Golden Calf “was one of them”, while Trump was a entitled billionaire.
I warned that was unlikely to be case, that the Golden Calf would have to earn the nomination and that the blue collar/working class vote would have to be pried away from Trump, nothing was automatic no matter how good a record the Golden Calf had in Florida.
Of course, as usual, I was right Just like I am right that the road to the nomination by the Golden Calf is as a better Trump, not the anti-Trump.
Look at the polls. Trump has half the R vote. People like him and his Presidency. Insulting them is not going to change that or get you ANY votes. Piggy back riding on the ridiculous weaponization of the justice system against Trump is not going to get you ANY votes.
Trump was a victim of a sordid campaign his entire presidency. The Dems gamed the election to beat him. They are now piling false accusations and indictments against him.
These are the facts in a nutshell. Give Trump his due, acknowledge he has been a victim of out of control partisan investigations, acknowledge he did deliver for conservatives. Because no one that believes those things, and I am one of them, is going to change their minds over what Alvin Bragg or Jack Smith or the Fulton Co DA thinks.
But Trump is not a viable candidate for the GE. He is 78 and not the future of the party. Even if he did pull off a win, his Presidency would be mired in endless controversy and gridlock, he would be unlikely to get much done. If Rs want to win, they have someone that can deliver on many of his policies. Someone that will fight the culture wars against the absurd policies Biden and the blue state governments are implementing. Re-electing Biden won’t help Trump or the working class. THAT is the argument the Golden Calf has to make.
You can attack that 55% and insult them. That will get you nothing, because if that worked, Trump would not be at 55% after investigations, scandals, impeachments, indictments, blah blah blah.
Or you can find a persuasive and compelling argument to sway their vote away from Trump towards the Golden Calf. You don’t need all of them. You need about 20% of that 55% to switch.
Take your pick. MSNBC/CNN talking points against Trump or a strategy that peels off some his support by people who like him but can be persuaded he is not the best alternative.
I have been correct about Trump from Day 1. He is a terrible person who exhibits multiple personality disorders. He never should have been elected president. His presidency was a catastrophe for the Republican Party. The large House and Senate majorities won in 2014 were both lost because he pissed off so many swing voters. As a result, every bit of policy achievement that was cultivated by Republicans for years and finally passed by Paul Ryan and the House has been wiped away.
Additionally, multiple state parties have collapsed under the weight of Trumpian conspiracies and stupidity (AZ and MI for example). Thanks to conman Donnie, Arizona has two Democrat Senators for the first time since the 1950’s and Georgia has two Democrat Senators for the first time in decades. Why did that happen? Because Trump (a lunatic) actively campaigned against members of his own party out of little more than petty spite.
The best votes I ever cast and will ever cast were the votes I did not cast for Trump. Unlike the fraud, I have not changed my views just to match those of a lifelong liberal Democrat who swindled a political party with the siren song of populism. And in 2024, I will not have the stain of voting for Trump, a man who will support Putin against Ukraine and pull the US out of NATO, on my hands as the fraud and others will even as they claim to support Ukraine and the alliance.
It’s not hard to understand why Jason fraud is so touchy about Trump, though. Every day of the 2016 campaign he hated Trump with a passion. Yet the moment the conman accidentally won (yes, it was an accident), the fraud gave himself whiplash when he flipped and became a Trump worshipper on the level of Tinfoil and that clown Dblaikie who once claimed Trump was atoning for his sins by appointing conservative judges.
A few months ago, it was reported by Politico that Jeff Roe could defect from DeSantis and back someone else, likely Youngkin, and take the super pac with him. It shouldn’t surprise this story popped up the day DeSantis turfed 1/3 of his staff.
I think it’s highly unlikely to happen, but it’s pretty clear those who have experience running presidential campaigns believe DeSantis has faceplanted. The question would be, if the National Pulse is remotely correct, whether Youngkin could hire a staff with presidential experience. I’m sure he would be able to do so, but my guess is many of the top staff have probably decided 2024 is already lost.
DeSantis needs to fire his campaign manager, Generra Peck, but he won’t so the beatings will continue until morale improves.
Jason fraud, a dummy, wants DeSantis to run against Trump by saying, “Trump was an awesome president, but vote for me”. Why? Because the fraud is 100% in the tank for Trump. he doesn’t want anything bad said about his fat, orange hero.
It’s laughable that the Putin appeasers want Michael Flynn, who at least in the past was paid by Putin, to be Trump’s VP. I assume Trump realizes if he did so there would be a question if he would survive his second term
The problem is Trump is so deranged that he might just want Flynn to be his VP or even his defense secretary. Trump realized at the end of his presidency he needed toadies around him who would act on his every whim. Flynn would be one such toady.
Trump would absolutely relish the chance to make Flynn his VP simply because it would piss off the right people. Even worse, Trump knows his stranglehold on the party is so tight (just look at the fraud), he could force McConnell on the others to swallow Flynn as either VP or as defense secretary.
A Trump nomination would be awful for the party and the country. It will take a decade or more to clean out the Trumpian worshippers who have actively destroyed the party over the last eight years. It won’t be easy. Just look at the damage Chemtrail Kelli Ward did in AZ. The 2020’s may well be for the Democrats what the 1930’s were for them.
Jill Stein was at this same dinner (representing her stance against nuclear proliferation), seated at the same table with Flynn and Putin. She collaborates that Putin spoke to no one. I never understood how or even why so much was made of this one dinner, as well as Flynn’s conversation with a Russian diplomatic counterpart – interactions considered normal prior to a Trump presidency
Putin, speaking to NBC News’ Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly, said he recalled the dinner in question as a routine event.
“I made my speech. Then we talked about some other stuff. And I got up and left. And then afterwards I was told, ‘You know there was an American gentleman, he was involved in some things. He used to be in the security services’,” Putin said.
“That’s it. I didn’t even really talk to him. That’s the extent of my acquaintance with Mr Flynn,” he added.
When people try to make something out of nothing it just appears contrived and loses credibility.
This article illustrates the mind set of the people who intend to support Trump in the primaries. If you want to take voters away from Trump, the Golden Calf should read this article.
I disagree with a lot of the points the author makes. For example he thinks Trump is responsible for the “new R party”, I think he is a symptom. And he represents the isolationist and protectionist viewpoints I abhor. But again, I am no longer a R, and my views are not represented in the mainstream of the party any more than the views Amoral Scumbag pretends he believes in.
The point is, how do you get some of these people to switch to the Golden Calf. If you think calling Kenny Cody an idiot will do it, you are the idiot.
What’s new about Haley’s prediction? She is having a poor showing even in her own state. Most of these candidates will either angrily denounce Trump like Christie, or give a sour grapes reflection that he can’t win the GE.
Well…I don’t think McCarthy will want to lose the house and the Senate is for the taking for the GOP for the third election cycle…don’t think they want to lose again.
IMO the following is one of the most relevant comments in that Townhall piece
It seems as if Democrats, progressives, and moderate Republicans want the American people to think that because the DOJ, FBI, and CIA are against Trump, we should also be. Meanwhile, Americans think this is one of history’s most weaponized usages of governmental power.
All these governmental entities, and people with a Trump grievance or grudge, want Trump to cease to exist from a thousand cuts of their own raw hatred of him, or maybe it’s a fear he might just pull it off. Personally, I don’t see how anyone could take all the incoming he has had to deal with. The fact he’s still standing, belligerent as ever, gives him an almost surreal image of being one of a kind. Consequently, most of the other candidates seem like inauthentic cardboard cut-outs in comparison.
Republicans have done nothing but lose or wildly underperform in the era of Trump, but Jason fraud thinks that qualifies as winning because he’s an easy mark.
Noted election denier who even believes George Allen won in 2006 thinks only Trump could beat have won in 2016 when, in fact, every Republican polled better against Clinton than he did. But in the deranged world of the fraud, Trump winning a little more than 46% against the most unpopular politician of the previous few decades was something akin to Reagan winning 58% and 49 states in 1984.
Koolaid drinkers Trump effect…back in February it was Make America Florida. DeSantis was slow to respond to Trumps attacks and the mindless obeyed in hating on RDS because Trump gaslighted them.

Zzzzz……
Trump won in 2016 and came within 42k votes in 3 states of winning again in 2020 even with massive fraud. Even with 24/7 investigations and lies and fake impeachments and the TDS morons.
Trump is the symptom of a R party that is much more populist and geared to the working class. It either adapts to that reality and embraces it or it will become a regional party dealing with a permanent Dem majority.
Amoral Scumbag is halfway there when he says “Trump’s control of the party is tight”. The other half is admitting why that is the case, which is the 800 lb gorilla in the room.
The Russian milli bloggers finally figured it out:
“Rybar had a similar post yesterday about UA ramping up strikes on ammo depots and logistics in the backline while letting RU waste their artillery on small infantry groups.”
This is exactly why MAGA is going to go the way of the tea party. Trumps insecurity leads to divide and conquer. It’s going to crash and burn because of his narcissistic ego.
Mindless better describes cult followers. The ones that promote the lies regarding the awesome conservative Governor from Florida…those people are disgusting.
When Ukraine launched its big counteroffensive this spring, Western military officials knew Kyiv didn’t have all the training or weapons—from shells to warplanes—that it needed to dislodge Russian forces. But they hoped Ukrainian courage and resourcefulness would carry the day. They haven’t,” reports the WSJ.
“Deep and deadly minefields, extensive fortifications and Russian air power have combined to largely block significant advances by Ukrainian troops. Instead, the campaign risks descending into a stalemate with the potential to burn through lives and equipment without a major shift in momentum,” writes the Wall Street Journal.
“As the likelihood of any large-scale breakthrough by the Ukrainians this year dims, it raises the unsettling prospect for Washington and its allies of a longer war—one that would require a huge new infusion of sophisticated armaments and more training to give Kyiv a chance at victory”, according to the Wall Street Journal.
So there is no misunderstanding I am a strong believer in the America First agenda. I thought DeSantis is the potential young leader to carry it forward.
Democrat attack ads if Trump is the nominee will just be clips of Bill Stepien (Trump's 2020 campaign manager) and Jason Miller (Trump's 2024 senior adviser) testifying that they know Trump lost in 2020 while publicly lying about or profiting from it anyway. pic.twitter.com/4zR0wmRw2D
Newsome may as well go ahead and throw his hat in the ring and gear up for his race with Kamala. Democrats are already deciding how and when to shove Joe aside. He may not know it but the powers that be behind the scenes are already dealing him out. Actually, he probably has already been given the word and knows he’s history.
If a Democratic candidate becomes a liability he’s gone. Examples? Torricelli in the New Jersey Senate race 2002, Bernie in 2020…….should I go on? Become an election liability and you are trap doored. Biden has become just too risky. The scandals are breaking wide open, his approval numbers suck, and his day to day mental and physical age related liabilities can no longer be hidden. They are on display daily. They can no longer be hidden by his media hacks. Certainly not for another entire year and a half.
The only reason Joe hasn’t already been swept aside is the prospect of running against a weakened and unpopular Trump. The Republican Thelma and Louise strategy of nominating Trump again could be Biden’s only salvation but Biden’s prospects have so gone downhill that even that matchup might just be too risky to the Democartic Party power brokers.
I actually like Ukraine’s current strategy. The idea of charging through mine fields would result in high casualties for the Ukrainians. Instead, move in a deliberate manner, wiping out Russian logistics. It’s Putin now who is showing signs of panic — as Ukraine is methodically gaining territory, and as more sophisticated weaponry is being given to Ukraine.
“@_Marc1337
Rybar had a similar post yesterday about UA ramping up strikes on ammo depots and logistics in the backline while letting RU waste their artillery on small infantry groups.”
So you think the Ukrainians should surrender? Putin invaded their country, in his famous three day assault to conquer Ukraine. His invasion failed. Now the Ukrainians are methodically pushing the Russians back. Isn’t that their right?
Anyone who lives through 8 years of Bush war of terror plus McCain-Romney hijacking the nominations is not falling for Biden’s Ukraine money laundering operation.
It took almost a year for the Russians to take Bakhmut, and in a matter of weeks the Ukrainians are about to take it back. Seems to me it’s the Russian offensive that failed.
From Forbes:
“Mercenaries from the Kremlin-aligned The Wagner Group captured the town of Klishchiivka, 10 miles south of Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine’s Donbas region, back in December.
Eight months later this week, Ukrainian troops liberated the town. Now the Ukrainians are in a good position to cut the southern supply lines into Bakhmut.
The Russians captured the ruins of Bakhmut in May after a nearly yearlong fight that dearly cost both sides, but especially the Russian side.
Thousands of Wagner fighters, regular Russian troops and pro-Russian separatists died in and around Bakhmut as the city’s Ukrainian garrison slowly traded space for time—and used that time to kill as many Russians as it could.
For Moscow, Bakhmut was a symbol. Proof that the Kremlin still could win its war of aggression in Ukraine. For Kyiv, Bakhmut was an opportunity to bleed the Russian army, draining its combat power in advance of the Ukrainian armed forces’ long-planned counteroffensive, which kicked off on June 4.
The 3rd and 28th Brigades meanwhile pushed toward Andriivka, a few miles to the south. On Tuesday, Ukrainian military spokesperson Andrii Kovalov claimed the Russians were retreating from Andriivka.
While all of this has been happening, the Ukrainian 57th Motorized Brigade has been advancing on the opposite side of Bakhmut, aiming for the main road into the city from the north.
The result is a tightening semi-encirclement of Russian forces in Bakhmut. Ukrainian forces have severed one of the roads into Bakhmut from the south. Another, bigger road lies a couple of miles to the east.”
It’s amazing how political allies can soon turn on each other when it becomes advantageous for themselves to do so. Bill Stepien’s comments aren’t surprising to me. However, Jason Miller is another matter.
The Trump campaign's main lawyers thought the alternate/fake elector plan was insane and potentially illegal. But that was kept from people on the ground. Here are Trump campaign officials admitting they were ripping off Republican voters by asking them to donate money to a fund that didn't exist to overturn an election they knew they lost.
Amanda Wick, senior investigative counsel with the House Jan. 6 committee: “Between… pic.twitter.com/kx2PUvuqsa
These are not MSNBC talking points. This is a reckless attempt by Trump to overturn an election by fake electors and raise 250 million to do so. Even if some states were flooded with ballots as part of a scheme to cheat and steal the election… it won’t matter. I have spent my whole life avoiding lawsuits. You have to out think your enemies. Trump is so reckless and narcissistic he can’t.
The Trump’s team knew the alternate elector plan was crazy and wouldn’t work. Here’s Jason Miller.
Q: “Do you know what Matt Morgan or Justin Clark’s [Trump campaign lawyers] views on this were, specifically alternate electors?”
Miller: “Yeah, I think they thought it was crazy.”
Q: “Did they tell you that? Did you talk to them about it?”
Miller: “Certainly had conversations I know with Justin about it. But the way it’s presented is that it’s crazy to think that this will work. It’s not going to go anywhere.”
So they knew it was doomed but did it anyway.
Miller and others knew the elector plot was doomed to fail. Nevertheless, 16 Michiganders signed certificates claiming Trump won the state and are now charged with multiple felonies.
The Trump January 6th indictments will be great cover for the Biden corruption in the next weeks.
Because the January 6th set up was demagogued wrongly by the left as insurrection…most … if not all conservative reporters and pundits didn’t look deeper into this mess of the false electors and raising money off it. Not good.

Amoral Scumbag NOW thinks what I have been saying for months is what the Golden Calf should be doing? What a despicable turd.
I was the one that said the Golden Calf should ignore Trump and his attacks and concentrate on selling himself to the primary voters with a POSITIVE message about himself. He needs to convince people he will continue what they like about Trump’s policies but that only he can win the GE to implement them. In addition he has a great record of accomplishments as governor, he is a vet, he has a great family, he is young, he has a lot of positives to sell.
Amoral Scumbag was the one who said the Golden Calf should just keep repeating MSM talking points and insulting Trumps supporters as a campaign strategy.
Trumps supporters respond to the Trump elector scheme comparing to the Holly weird add asking electors to vote for Hillary and 1960 Hawaii election recounts. Stupid is as stupid does.
Zzzzz…. the “fake electors” BS is a nothing burger and JeffP knows it. But as usual he will embark on any MSM/DOJ/DEM nonsense and sell out his conservative principles is somehow it is bad for Trump. The “fake electors” is just another of a long list of bogus charges, it is just the new flavor of the day.
But hey, we heard Trump was “finished” after the stupid documents charge, which JeffP said were formidable (because he read the indictment).
Now he says Trump is “finished” because of the Jan 6, but he knows Trump did not incite or plan any riots.
Giuliani has conceded that while acting as a lawyer for former President Donald Trump, he made false statements by asserting that two Georgia election workers had mishandled ballots while counting votes in Atlanta during the 2020 election. #gapol

Some advice for the Golden Calf from “Manic Contrarian” Seize the Day!
Memo to: Ron DeSantis
From: Manic Contrarian
Re: Carpe Diem
Mr. Governor, with all due respect, you’re losing this race. You must reverse course immediately and rise to meet this moment. You likely will not get another chance.
Along those lines, you should convene the press to Florida ASAP as part of an important campaign statement calling out Joe Biden for his obvious corruption, juxtaposing that with the numerous indictments piling up in the Trump camp, and using both of those truths as a rationale and justification for new, bold, and principled leadership in the United States.
You need to have a sense of urgency. Be sober. Be serious. Be tough. Don’t complain; explain. Talk about the gravity of the moment. Elevate things to the point of declaring a national emergency for the country. Indeed, considering the president is also the leader of the free world, go ahead and declare an emergency for the free world itself.
America needs a strong, capable, energetic, and disciplined president, chief executive, and commander-in-chief who is beyond reproach in matters of morality, ethics, and integrity.
We cannot risk putting in front of the American people in November 2024 a choice between two men whom the opposite party will have likely impeached. Trump twice, and now it appears Biden also faces an impeachment trial. America can and must do better than this.
Governor, you can certainly say, and indeed, you should definitely say, that you’re not the judge and jury, but you’re ready to serve. And you’re prepared to lead and to be president.
Offer your vision for the country, your message for the people, your economic program for the economy, and why you pledge to hit the ground running in January 2025, running fast and running hard, to achieve important victories for the American people.
You can use the press conference as an opportunity to say why you condemn, without reservation, the politics of personal destruction. We’ve had enough of it. Say why you detest criminalizing our political differences. And that we’re in the midst of it. Explain why these never-ending dual scandals are tragic distractions, how they undermine trust, faith, and respect for our important and valued institutions, and why, after the last several years, so much work needs to be done, and important accomplishments banked.
The trajectory of the country is leading us into dark and dangerous waters. We need a new captain at the helm. This is your moment. Rise to it and seize it. If not you, who? If not now, when? God bless you, Mr. Governor; you’re a good man. And good men are what the country needs from time to time and now more than ever. Carpe Diem!”
You’re a lying clown. I’ve been saying for weeks and weeks that DeSantis needed to make the case for himself, make the case for policy, and stop trying to get to Trump’s right on every issue. Finally, it seems he’s going to do that.
You, on the other hand, have said repeatedly that DeSantis needs to say Trump is great, but people should vote for DeSantis. Why? Because just like Tinfoil in 2015, you are for Trump and only Trump and want the other candidates to shower him with praise.
“the “fake electors” BS is a nothing burger and JeffP knows it.” Tell the poor faux electors in Michigan who bought into this scam out of loyalty to Trump it’s a nothing burger.
“But as usual he will embark on any MSM/DOJ/DEM nonsense and sell out his conservative principles is somehow it is bad for Trump.”
No …Trump who not conservative… is selling out the people he brought into the America First movement by his reckless ego centric behavior. Giving his enemies every opportunity to destroy what good he had done.
LGRW posted some harsh Trump tidbits today. However, as much as Trump has his critics and political potholes to get around, so does DeSantis. No one running in the 2024 presidential election is going to proceed unscathed by negative publicity, real or unreal charges, and very unflattering opinion pieces.
The Conservative Treehouse is one very popular conservative blog who has opposed DeSantis’s candidacy from the very beginning. The latest commentary is especially dark and scathing.
That “insurgent underdog” spin is particularly laughable when you consider that Karl Rove, the RGA, Paul Ryan, Ed Rollins, Jeb Bush and the entire apparatus of the approved republican coalition are aligned with Ron DeSantis. What exactly is the party selected candidate running as an insurgent against?
Karl Rove organized donors and held events with him. The RGA gave him $20 million. Paul Ryan endorsed him. Ed Rollins organized PAC efforts for him, and Jeb Bush openly supported him. Oh, but he’s “an outsider“… lol Just stop.
RFK Jr. is far from being a weirdo just because he uses critical thinking rather than consensus thinking in analyzing products, politics, and vaccine veracity. I think it was a good answer by DeSantis. Furthermore, Kennedy does well in public settings because he doesn’t give standard, establishment-approved responses – something that could actually give DeSantis a boost in reaching out to the more non-conforming grass roots.
Kennedy is an anti-vax loon going back many years. Personally, I prefer to not have to worry about polio and smallpox. He is more of a risk-taker, I guess.
“Sic him on the FDA and CDC” or “put him in charge”. It really doesn’t matter. It’s a distinction without a difference. The fact DeSantis felt the need to play footsie with a buffoonish anti-vax idiot Democrat like RFK Jr. says everything we need to know about the state of his campaign. It’s flailing.
There is a huge group of Republican voters who are ready to move on from Trump, or at least open to it (maybe 60%), but DeSantis continues to suggest he’s not interested in them based on his comments and decisions. Crap like this, even mentioning RFK in a positive way, drives off the sane part of the party.
Trying to be Trump-lite ain’t working and it’s never going to work. If DeSantis is serious about rebooting his campaign, he needs to act like a serious conservative Republican candidate who is interested in the economy and inflation. Not online vax conspiracy theories. After missteps like this, I’m not sure if any change will be viewed as credible.
Judge refuses to accept the Hunter Biden plea deal.
Did not see that coming.
***********************************
My hope is that Trump and Joe Biden both quickly end up in prison.
I hope they will share the same cell.
It will be worse for Trump, since Biden is so senile, he will not know where he is, or who Trump is, or what Trump is bloviating about.
If DeSantis had said he was going to put Dr. Marty Makary in charge of the FDA or CDC, it would have been a homerun answer. Instead, DeSantis once again gave a wink and a nod to online wackos.
“A Democrat donor who was appointed to a prestigious federal position by President Joe Biden also spent hundreds of thousands of dollars purchasing his son’s art.
An exclusive report from Business Insider reveals that at least one person who received favor from the Biden White House spent a large sum of money buying Hunter Biden’s artwork.
The buyer, Los Angeles real estate investor Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali, is also a significant Democrat donor who hosted a 2022 fundraiser headlined by Vice President Kamala Harris.
While the exact timing of her purchase is unclear, it was eight months after Hunter’s first art exhibit opening that his father President Joe Biden announced Naftali’s appointment to the Commission for the Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad.”
I won’t argue with the underlying facts in 2018, 2020 and 2022. Trump has been greatly increased voter turnout — by Democrats. They loath him, and turn out in droves because of their dislike of him. Republicans badly need a new, younger candidate in 2024.
And so the predicted abandonment of DeSantis by Robbie is complete. Ahead of schedule I might add. Some things are just slam dunks and so easy to predict.
So much for the Justice Department’s attempt to protect Hunter Biden:
Jonathan TURLEY: Fox News
“This is really a case of the Department of Justice being hoisted on its own petard, because the Justice Department needs to say that there’s an ongoing investigation to stop giving information, holding back witnesses to Congress. They need that element. But this judge immediately called them on it and said, “Well, what is it?” The Hunter Biden team said publicly that they believe this was a closed-out plea agreement, which is what I would have negotiated as defense counsel. There is no way I would agree to a plea agreement where we didn’t close out the charges. Otherwise, you’ve got Damocles’ sword hanging over your client’s head. And the Hunter Biden people said, “That was our understanding. There’s nothing further involving our client.” But that’s inconsistent with the DOJ, which is using the ongoing element to hold off Congress. And so this is really a problem of the DOJ’s making. They want to cap off this case and end it, but they also want to pretend that it’s ongoing. And you can’t have that ambiguity with a federal judge.”
Here’s the thing, Phil. I have not abandoned Desantis. If the primary is still remotely competitive by the time it rolls around to my state, I intend to vote for him. In all honesty, I don’t expect the race to be competitive by that time, though. Right now, DeSantis is starting to look like Rick Perry circa Fall 2011. Just a nonfactor.
However, I never expected DeSantis would play footsie with a conspiratorial anti-vax lunatic like RFK and I feel no obligation to support a candidate who kowtows to scum like RFK. I hope DeSantis disavows the comments and simply spends every day left in the campaign focusing on the economy and inflation. The things people actually care about.
A happy Russian milli blogger predicting success for Russian forces. . . oh,. . .
“While Girkin is gone, his mate Murz from the 4th “LPR” Brigade is taking the turn in doom posting: he says Ukrainians are successfully realising their plans of strong pushes in any area of the frontline that is available, destroying Russian artillery and taking out trained forces. He says if this goes on, the late summer and fall can be very difficult for Russia when it starts running out of personnel. And then the Russian authorities who are delaying the next mobilisation will be forced to throw new mobiks into battle from trains in WW2 style just to try and stop the continued Ukrainian offensive”
@BDeMayo
Yes, it was never going to be a mad dash to Mariupol or anything like that, but the first couple days showed they had a much different plan, one more centered on creating a wedge break in which the reserves would then pour into.
That changed, concentrating the troops doesn’t work without air support. So they spread the entire line out and have applied continuous pressure. Takes away heavy use of air by the Russians because they can’t cover the entire front, and Ukraine’s artillery outranges theirs, which destroys their artillery emplacements by locating them with the hit and run, hit and hold method the Ukrainians now use.
Once a real hole opens up anywhere those reserves come into play, and I’d expect a lot of the real fun to begin when the Abrams enter the theatre.”
After DeSantis suggested RFK Jr. could have a position with the FDA or CDC, Pence weighs in to say: “When I am President, I will only consider Pro-Life Americans to lead the FDA, CDC, or HHS. To be clear, pro-abortion Democrats like RFK, Jr. would not even make the list.”
– Running for president is a full spectrum exercise in which every single word spoken is dissected. DeSantis made a massive mistake with his comments about RFK. He gave his adversaries a sword and they’re using it against him.
It’s way too early to come my conclusions regarding RDS or any other candidate. We are in uncharted territory with the lead primary candidate facing who knows how many indictments.
The only way I see Trump loses the nomination is if he gets a one on one early in the primary season and RDS wins a state or two. The debates could help DeSantis more than any candidate.
The guilt by association is ridiculous and misleading. Ryan has NOT endorsed anyone. Rollins was hired by Trump. Rove was hired by Trump. Bush supported him yes over Woke Commie Dems in the Governor election. Jeb has not openly supported RDS for 2024. The pro websites of Trump are fake news factories.
NeverTrump and Biden seem VERY happy about imprisoning their political opponent. It’s almost as if they are on the SAME TEAM. In TinyD’s case it’s more like watching the funny farm get excited about a WWE event though given that he’s the clown show in this primary.
@JamieMetzl.
Ironically, the scientists who labeled those of us raising essential questions re a potential #COVID19 research-related origin “conspiracy theorists” were themselves coordinating to shift the conversation for political purposes. What’s the word for that? Important new @WSJ piece by @mattwridley and @Ayjchan. wsj.com/articles/the-c…
It’s not what he said. He never inferred giving him any position in his administration. RDS is the most lied against candidate by a wide margin. Destroying one of top GOP Governors through lies and the MSM and Trump cult do it everyday.
The left is having a meltdown after Nate Silver pointed out Fauci & friends committed a clear deception. They denied any possibility of a lab leak in a published scientific paper, while in private E-mails admitted it could have happened. Fauci appears to have been a ringleader in this cover-up. Admire Nate Silver up for sticking up for the truth.
“Nate Silver

@magi_jay
I’ve struggled with how to “fact-check” the nature of the chat against the claims made by @NateSilver538 & others. Frankly, it’s a difficult business. It’s very easy to spread conspiracy about science b/c the nature of the science is almost impenetrable to the general public.”

The DeSantis campaign since January 1, 2023.

Because Trump isn’t an ideology but a brand.

It’s laughable that the Putin appeasers want Michael Flynn, who at least in the past was paid by Putin, to be Trump’s VP. I assume Trump realizes if he did so there would be a question if he would survive his second term
LikeLike

From the perspective of the WSJ:

It will be worse for Trump, since Biden is so senile, he will not know where he is, or who Trump is, or what Trump is bloviating about.
