  3. Tina – If Biden is impeached, his popularity will soar with Dems. He won’t be convicted and removed by the Senate. It would just make him 100% to be the nominee in 2024 and there will be no talk by his handlers of him stepping down. I don’t want him to win another term but I think impeachment makes it more likely he will.

For one thing the senate would never go along with it. And, should a miracle happen, and they vote to impeach, our unpopular VP, Harris, would step in. Also, like bitter brought up it would probably elicit sympathy from Dems, making him more of a martyr than a treasonous liar, like he really is.

If DeSantis wants to have a decent shot of beating Trump he has to become more savvy on running his campaign. More people are walking away from him, including endorsements and other establishment republicans who normally would have his back. Like the above article says DeSantis is making rookie mistakes and unforced errors. “Pissing off” the grassroots is especially egregious and will take time to repair, if they can be repaired.

The small patch of land is in an area near Krasnohorivka, some 10 miles south west of the city of Donetsk.

The capture marks the first time since Russia’s invasion in February last year that Ukraine’s forces have been able to retake land seized in the initial Donbas invasion eight years prior.

Ukrainian troops were said to have liberated the lands last week, but news of the victory has been kept secret until now for tactical reasons.”

“I’ve been fielding calls on this since it happened,” one Trump ally told CNN, referring to McCarthy’s comments. “People are not happy. What was he thinking?”

During a CNBC interview Tuesday, McCarthy was pressed on Trump’s 2024 prospects and the multi-faceted legal issues facing the former president. “Can he win that election? Yeah he can,” McCarthy said. “The question is, is he the strongest to win the election – I don’t know that answer.”

“Gov. Gavin Newsom has repeatedly said he doesn’t want to run for president in 2024.

    Apparently, voters agree.

Seven out of 10 said they would not like to see him make a bid for the White House in the next election, per a new Quinnipiac University poll of registered California voters. Even a majority of Democrats (54 percent) still say he shouldn’t run next year.

“A resounding thumbs down from the home team as California voters tell the governor: if you have designs on the big job beyond Sacramento, we’re not on board,” said Quinnipiac University Polling Analyst Tim Malloy.”

Have you seen the polling? Here are the facts:

    1) Most Rs think Trump was a good president. Fact.
    2) Most Rs approve of Trump. Fact
    2) Most Rs think he was and is being persecuted politically. Fact.
    3) Most Rs agree that there were serious issues with the 2020 election. Fact
    4) A majority of Rs prefer Trump for the nomination. Fact
    5) An overwhelming majority of R voters want to continue Trump’s policies. Fact

Latest Reuters/Ipsos poll — 65% of Americans support providing arms to the Ukraine.

“Most Americans support US arming Ukraine, Reuters/Ipsos poll shows
    By Jonathan Landay
    June 28, 20239:21 AM

WASHINGTON, June 28 (Reuters) – Solid majorities of Americans support providing weaponry to Ukraine to defend itself against Russia and believe that such aid demonstrates to China and other U.S. rivals a will to protect U.S. interests and allies, according to a Reuters/Ipsos survey.

The two-day poll that was concluded on Tuesday charted a sharp rise in backing for arming Ukraine, with 65% of the respondents approving of the shipments compared with 46% in a May poll.

Eighty-one percent of Democrats, 56% of Republicans and 57% of independents favor supplying U.S. weapons to Ukraine, according to the latest poll.

The survey was conducted just days after Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the private Wagner mercenary company, launched and then called off a mutiny over what he charged was the Russian defense ministry’s mishandling of the war in Ukraine.

The findings appeared to provide firmer backing for U.S. President Joe Biden’s policy of doing “whatever it takes” to assist Ukraine in recapturing territory that Russia seized in an initial assault in 2014 and its full-scale invasion 16 months ago.

“This definitely reinforces Biden’s decision to be all-in on this,” said William Taylor, a former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine now with the U.S. Institute of Peace.”

My take goes against the majority (not a favored position), as I see the people of Ukraine suffering more under warring conditions than if a settlement had been reached earlier. The winners of this war are the oligarchs, Zelensky, and armament merchants. For those more rural villages outside of Kiev, the people and officials not falling in line with Zelensky’s policies, their life and liberties have atrophied and worsened. The plight of the “little people” will continue to decline as the latest Zelensky power grab threatens to do away with elections should they be held in an environment of war. Of course this would just extend Zelensky’s reign as an unopposed dictator-like ruler, along with all the benefits of unlimited cash being injected into his government and most likely his own pockets.

I personally don’t like dictators of any rank or in charge of any country. This includes Putin, Xi, and a multitude of others, including Zelensky who is governing with a greater iron hand as time goes on. The country he governs was the 3rd most corrupt in the world before the Russian/Ukraine war, including all kinds of laundered Biden family money and secret bioweapon labs, and would most probably have an even higher corruption now.

Plenty of conservatives are feeling a bit unsure about Ron DeSantis’s campaign because it’s packed with anti-Trump money. Plus, he’s got fans like Paul Ryan and Jeb! Bush. If establishment big shots like Ryan and Bush are cheering for DeSantis, does that mean he’s just another pawn for the establishment? That’s what journalist Glenn Greenwald asked Revolver’s own Darren Beattie, and his response was an eye-opener.

Darren proposes that each GOP candidate should be asked about what actions they plan to take for the American people that would get them indicted.

For me the many billionaire establishment republicans donating to DeSantis creates a viable question as to who he is going to be beholding to and working for – the people or the corporations funding his campaign? I don’t think DeSantis has spent much time clarifying such a question, especially when he is terse with reporters, doesn’t take questions from the public, and isolates himself from provocative interviews.

The leaders of both countries are “bad” guys as far as I’m concerned. Putin is a cold KGB type, poisoning and murdering rivals, completely heartless, with a determination to reclaim and add land mass to Russia. Zelensky is an ambitious opportunist who acts and dresses tough, but stays in the safety zones of Kiev while ill-trained civilians of men, women, children go out and fight for him. 14 million have supposedly fled Ukraine to get away from the involuntary terror uprooting their lives. My sources, who have been on missions in Ukraine, tell me the people there don’t like Zelensky, don’t trust the government, which may benefit Zelensky, in not having to stand for re-elections should he cancel them.

So, processing all this, I want the people of Ukraine to win. I want an outcome where they reclaim a homeland no longer subjected to the brutalities of a war, run afar by people who have little interest in the inhumanity involved, but rather in having more power, money and, in Zelensky’s case, prestige by being pulled out of virtual anonymity into hero status, and feted on the world stage.

The most crucial aspect of the immigration crisis is rarely discussed: Why are so many people so desperate in the first place to leave their homes and countries behind for an uncertain future? The answer is uncomfortable. In large part, it is U.S. policies that create desperate conditions south of the border. The War on Drugs is one. U.S.-funded dictators, juntas, paramilitaries, and death squads. Neoliberal extraction of resources. Unpayable debts. It is inhumane and hypocritical to deny immigration while creating the conditions that drive immigration. As President, I will change these policies. That’s the only long-term solution to the border crisis. #Kennedy24

The Ukraine is still in the “probing” phase. Of the 12 brigades of the Ukrainian military, nine are still in reserve. However, a real game changer will be when Ukraine F-16 aircraft come into the picture for Ukraine in several months.

    From the Guardian newspaper:

“The commander of Ukraine’s ground forces has confirmed for the first time that the main force of his offensive reserve is yet to be committed into battle with Russia, saying: “Everything is still ahead.”

In an exclusive interview from a military base in east Ukraine, Col Gen Oleksandr Syrskyi spoke of the stresses and difficulties of the fight, with Moscow launching its own offensive efforts in recent days.

    ***

‘Everything is still ahead’: inside a secret military base with top Ukraine general
Syrskyi, who led the Ukrainian defence of Kyiv last spring and shocked the world with a counteroffensive that liberated huge swathes of north-east Ukraine in the autumn, said the world had to be patient.

“Everyone wants to achieve a great victory instantly and at once,” he said. “And so do we. But we have to be prepared to have this process take some time because there are a lot of forces massed on each side, a lot of materiel, and a lot of engineered obstacles.

“I want to say that our main force has not been engaged in fighting yet, and we are now searching, probing for weak places in the enemy defences. Everything is still ahead.”

    ***

Ukraine’s general staff assembled 12 new brigades for the long-anticipated counteroffensive, with nine of those equipped by Nato allies. Just three of them are believed to have been committed to battle so far.”

The Trump administration is set to roll back the Obama-era policies promoting diversity in universities, known as affirmative action, US media report.

US Attorney General Jeff Sessions revoked 24 guidance documents on Tuesday, many involving race in schools and affirmative action recommendations

When Trump begin his presidency he actively tasked his administration to roll back affirmative action policies, no matter how milquetoast that clip seemed .with Chuck Todd. Back in 2017, when affirmative action was polled, over 70% said they had no problem with affirmative action policies, emphasizing how much Trump was going against the grain of social attitudes years ago.

Point is they are going to end up admitting whoever they want to admit regardless of what the SC says.

    From The National Pulse:

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis used $92 million of coronavirus stimulus funding from the U.S. tax payer for an interchange that will greatly enhance the value of a gated community being developed by one of his major donors, the Iranian-born, British-educated ICI Homes owner Morteza ‘Mori’ Hosseini.

Hosseini has dished out at least tens of thousands to DeSantis’s campaigns, as well as loaning him a golf simulator worth $30,000, and providing private jets for the use of the Governor and his wife Jill, who prefers to go by Casey. Hosseini and the Republican presidential hopeful have “a long, close relationship” due in no small part to the Iranian-American’s willingness to make his jet available at short notice.

The story reporting the monied relationship between Hosseini and DeSantis is being addressed, in hopes of debunking it, by Christina Pushaw, his Rapid Response Director (also a registered foreign agent). However, as more details emerge Hosseini has also been linked to donations linked to far-left Dems.

In addition, Russia is struggling with a labor shortage caused by a) the mobilization of 300,000 men of working age for the war effort and b) the flight of as many as a million men from the country to avoid the mobilization. The war itself is now the focus of the Russian economy which will create its own problems.

“The problem is that the military-industrial complex in Russia has never been able to convert its know-how into some civilian areas. This means that the imbalance will grow and a “bubble” will inflate around the military-industrial complex,” Alexandra Prokopenko predicts.

“Everything will ‘shrink’ in civilian areas because all the resources will flow into the military sector. This has nothing to do with normal growth. Therefore, in the short term, the sanctions have failed, as they are called, to bring down such a beast as the Russian economy. But in the long term, it is deeply ill.”

Latest Gallup poll, done prior to the Prigozhin uprising. Almost 70% believe U.S. providing right amount of support or isn’t providing enough support for Ukraine.

    43% providing the right amount of support;
    26% isn’t doing enough;
    29% doing to much;

“The latest data are from a Gallup web survey conducted June 1-20, just before the failed rebellion led by Wagner Group owner Yevgeny Prigozhin ended in an about-face after a short-lived march on Moscow. It is unclear how much the recent dramatic events in Russia have affected people’s views on the war. Prior to that event, just over a third of Americans said they would like to see the U.S. end the war as quickly as possible, even if that would result in Moscow keeping the territory it has captured.

When asked about the United States’ role in the war, 43% of Americans, a new high, say the U.S. is doing the “right amount” to help Ukraine. Meanwhile, there has been a 12-percentage-point decline to 26% since August 2022 in the percentage saying the U.S. isn’t doing enough to assist Ukraine — as well as a slight increase in the percentage saying the U.S. is doing too much, now 29%.”

The question is how soon will Putin’s generals wait to push him aside:

“Putin relied on Wagner PMC to protect him in case the army, the FSB, or others decided to rebel against him, and thought Wagner was at his beck and call, who would show up immediately and cut off the heads of anyone who would dare try to bite him.”

“Putin expected total loyalty from the Wagner mercenaries as his own private army given everything he had done for them and Prigozhin. Many of the mercenaries became millionaires with their own yachts and villas, and Prigozhin of course a billionaire.”

“The entire civilized world was shocked and horrified to see this terrorist organization pull this off and Wagner PMC at minimum took control of one military base with nuclear weapons (Voronezh-45)”

From a Ukrainian journalist. With Obama’s VP in office, it’s no wonder Putin felt embolden:

“Last week, I read Barack Obama’s statement in an interview with CNN that in 2014 Russia did not carry out armed aggression to seize the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea. I wasn’t just surprised. I was shocked.

I arrived in Crimea the day after it became known that people in military uniforms without identification marks seized the Crimean parliament and government houses on the night of February 26-27, 2014. Both those who came out in support and those who were against understood very well that these were Russian troops.

Actually, the whole world also understood it. Only Russian President Vladimir Putin pretended that Russia was not involved. He lied that government buildings were seized by Crimean supporters of Russia. After the peninsula was occupied, Putin admitted that it was Russia that carried out this action, brutally violating the world order that has been established since 1945. Until Putin, it was axiomatic. No one even thought to question it.

And suddenly, Obama appears, denying the obvious truth. I can explain it only by the fact that he does not want to admit his guilt for the weak response of the West to Russia’s aggression in 2014. Instead of showing courage, analyzing his actions at the time, and drawing conclusions, he buries his head in the sand.”

Putin would never have invaded Ukraine if Trump was President. Biden basically ignored all the preparations the Russians were making to invade and probably believed Putin’s lies that he was not going to invade. Or maybe he was reading Neville Allen’s magazines. Putin spent several months amassing troops at the border with no real pushback from the West.
I think Trump would have made clear the invasion was unacceptable and it would not have happened. Putin might have extracted some concessions but that would have been it.

This is true. I would have opposed any concessions, although I didn’t mean concessions by Ukraine, I meant Trump would have probably negotiated something that benefited Russia financially. My point is that with Trump in office, Putin would never have invaded, whether I approved of the negotiations to keep that from happening or not.

But actually Trump was a lot tougher on Russia during his Presidency than Biden was, and Putin understands Trump’s language and knew he spoke from a position of strength while Biden always speaks from a position of weakness.

Putin waited till Trump was out of office to invade. He had hoped to avoid a protracted war by taking Kiev quickly and decapitating its leadership and installing a puppet government. The West only started supporting Ukraine militarily when it saw Zelensky and the Ukrainians were willing to fight for their countryu.

Trump now says he would solve the war in 24 hours but I actually doubt he would abandon Ukraine. He wouldn’t want the consequences on his watch. If Putin didn’t accept his solution, he would immediately use it as an excuse to continue supporting Ukraine.

Would Trump sell out the Dombas and Crimea to get a deal? No doubt. Would I oppose that. No doubt. But Trump would not let the Russians annex Ukraine either. Bet on it.

There’s plenty of time for DeSantis to right the ship, but time isn’t unlimited. And if he hasn’t found his footing by Labor Day, it may spark a round of stories about late entries (whether real or not) that will only serve to hurt his standing. The woman serving as campaign manager for DeSantis has never operated at this level so her every move is going to be scrutinized. Deal with it, fraud.

Right now, I don’t know if the staff is the problem or the candidate is the problem. It’s probably both. In political races, though, the burden always falls on the candidate, but it also matters from whom the candidate takes advice. DeSantis’ main advisor is his wife. She has let it be known she favors the “when they go low, we go high” approach. That’s fine, but DeSantis is running against Trump who is a human slime machine.

And trust me, stories about a staff shakeup are probably coming, whether it’s this month or next, and it won’t be because of me. It will be because his allies and donors are worried their choice is flopping. Even Reagan had to change up his staff after Iowa in 1980.

Twitter under Musk has become a fiasco. He is in over his head. It is important to remember Musk is the country’s biggest welfare queen. He is the recipient of billions in subsidies for Tesla electric cars, and his factories and businesses. I was curious to see how Musk would do in a business without a massive infusion of government cash — now we know.

However, Twitter was in trouble before Musk. Its censorship an attempt to limit it’s content to what it viewed as politically correct was destroying it. Of course allowing freer speech was referred to by Robbie as “hate speech is rampant”. Such nostalgia for Twitter censorship and political correctness.

Twitter disgraced itself by censoring any discussion of a possible Wuhan lab leak, and also worked with Democrats to censor any posts which disagreed with liberal orthodoxy. The recently released correspondence showing Twitter’s collusion with liberal politicians to censor conservative content was disgraceful. Musk purchased Twitter at a time it was in serious trouble to begin with, so I will give him credit for trying to save Twitter from is decline into a deeply censored tool of the far left.
