even though he voted to strike the order on statutory grounds.”

That is why the vote was 6-3.

janzam is a lying moron who has already said the vote was 5-1-3 (no) and now says it was 5-4 (no).

The vote on whether Trump’s order was constitutional was 6-3 no matter how many times janzam lies about it.

The janzam lied saying other countries do not have birthright citizenship, when dozens do just in this hemisphere.

As for congressional action, the odds congress will void birthright citizenship are nil. A constitutional amendment has even lower odds.

Dems universally support it and many conservatives do too.

I would support some narrow measures to prevent so called birthright tourism. Perhaps a pregnancy question when issuing the visa, so it would be easier to deport the parents if they violate the visa.

But in my view, children are not responsible for where they are born. I think if they are born in the US, the legal status of their parents should not matter.

We should WANT them to grow up to be patriotic American citizens, serve in the military, become US soccer stars like Folarin Balogun.

hen trouble finding our car in parking lot near Green lot stop 10 at Dulles airport…we got on a green lot bus. the green shuttle bus stops at green lot stops 1 through 8, then at stops 13 through 20 whatever. At stop 13 we talk with our green bus driver about stop 10. He says green lot stops 9 through 12 are stops made by the blue lot busses, not any green lot busses. “

Funny, the exact same thing happened to me at the exact same stop 3 weeks ago. I was sure I was in the Green lot at stop 10, but I did notice it was the blue bus that took me to the terminal. I thought it was just that they had rerouted a blue bus through the Green Lot, so I took the green bus. The only difference was that the green bus driver was nice enough to drop me off at Stop 10 because I was the only passenger.

    Here is my plan:

    1. Seal the border. Pretty good job so far.

    2. Deport illegals. Not going to get all of them so start with the violent/dangerous ones.

    3. Try to shut down birth tourism. Won’t fully succeed but try.

    4. Born here? Citizen.

Jan – Let me explain. It was 6-3. A concurring opinion means the Justice agreed with the result. What you are trying to do is pretend they did not. It would be like reporting a 3-1 baseball score as 2-1-1 because the winning team had an unearned run because of a wild pitch.

Soccer is the greatest (and most popular) sport on Earth.

That being said, I agree that FIFA has carried the “inclusiveness” meme too far.

Having Curação, Qatar and Haiti while Italy, Denmark and Poland are out makes zero sense.

I propose a system similar to baseball and other sports where you have a World Cup for the best teams according to FIFA rankings and a World Cup B for the those ranked outside the top 60 for example.

Ok I will take the bait.

Soccer (or football, as it is known globally) is the most popular sport in the world, boasting an estimated 3.5 billion fans. Its global dominance is driven by its simple rules, minimal required equipment, and massive international tournaments like the FIFA World Cup. [1, 2]

    Global Dominance

Soccer stands as the undisputed champion of the sporting world. It completely dominates the international landscape in terms of both viewership and active participation. [1]

    • Fanbase: It commands roughly 3.5 billion followers across Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia.
    • Global Reach: The quadrennial FIFA World Cup is one of the most-watched sporting events on the planet, often drawing billions of viewers across its month-long duration.
    • Accessibility: The sport’s incredible rise is heavily attributed to its low barrier to entry. All that is needed is a ball and a designated space, allowing anyone, anywhere, to play

It’s even more popular than baseball in the US, no surprise there.

“In 2024, before World Cup fever took over North America, soccer had already dethroned baseball as the third most popular sport in the U.S.

Using data from Ampere Analysis, a market research firm that focuses on media, entertainment, and sports, The Economist published a list of the most popular sports in the U.S. based on the share of fans.

According to the firm, American football is the most popular sport in the U.S., with a 36% share of fans. The results were as follows:

    • American football- 36%
    • Basketball- 17%
    • Soccer- 10%
    • Baseball- 9%
    • Ice hockey- 4%
    • Tennis- 3%
    • Boxing- 3%

And soccer is only going to get more popular, given that American children like soccer even more than adults.

According to a 2024 study by the Aspen Institute, the population ages 6 to 17 prefers soccer over American football. Among the youngest ones, basketball, baseball, and soccer are the most popular sports.

Per the study, the share of children participating in different sports goes as follows:

    • Basketball- 13.7%
    • Baseball- 11.7%
    • Soccer- 7.5%
    • Flag and tackle football- 6.7% (between 2019 and 2024, tackle football became 7% less popular, while flag football grew 13.6% more popular)
    • Tennis- 6.5% (the fastest-growing sport between 2019 and 2024)

Germany and the Netherlands lost on penalty shootouts, but they should have won the games outright. They dug their own graves.

Croatia is an excellent team, but they got a bad draw and played another good team, Portugal. Only one could survive.

Australia, South Korea, Turkey and Scotland sucked.

But it actually proves my point. The African teams were not “underserving” to advance, they did so according to the tournament rules, they just didn’t merit the hype that went with it.

In the end, none of the lower ranked African teams survived against better teams.

In my view, what it means is that the FIFA corrupt strategy of including a lot of lower ranked African, ME and Asian/Oceania teams at the expense of much better European teams is a failure.

Patriotism is being stoked by this symbolic display of America’s legacy. The speech given by Trump at Mt. Rushmore was a direct rebuke of Mamdani’s one on the morning of the 3rd chastising this county and subtly invoking a call for communism.

  52. Americans are people who understand that the best society possible is one full of winners and losers, but where everyone who wished to work hard has the freedom and opportunity to be winner.

Mamdani and the socialist/communist direction he represents sees society as full of equally endowed losers who have no path to become winners, with himself and his ilk ruling and living like kings over all the losers.

Historic liberal democrats thought the best way forward to make more winners was by government intervention with a heavy hand to force more winners whether or not individuals wanted to work hard to become a winner.

But Mamdani’s plan for the country is radically different in that he wants to use the heavy hand of government to ensure everyone is a loser without hope.

May God bless America by waking up enough voters to stop this, before they vote themselves into perpetual and endless poverty and hopelessness.

I don’t. Trump has too many companies to lose complete control of them. i am fine with an irrevocable trust so that his sons run his companies.

All the SA countries in the WC deserved to be in. The SA qualification is like the European, very competitve.

Same problem. Chile is out, Curacao and Haiti are in.

    I survived another tornado warning.

I couldn’t take shelter as my phone was telling me to do because I didn’t want to miss the game.

My wife and the cat went to the basement. Me and Lupita rode it out.

  110. WV NEWS…

In Parkersburg on the Ohio River in the extreme western part of the state there is a million Sq. Ft. Warehouse that has been burning for 24 hours. It stores plastic pellets and batteries…

Huge plume of thick black smoke has been blowing from there all day.

In the middle of WV they have gotten a lot of rain, 2 inches an hour, and have flash flood warnings up.

Here in the eastern panhandle in the far east of WV we just got an extended pounding of sustained heavy rain.

All the rain is heading NW

  114. BTW, they are nowhere close to putting out the big warehouse fire in Parkersburg.

Not putting water on the warehouse fire itself. Trying to keep flames from other e

Warehouses and buildings not too far away. Not is any residential section.

It looks like it will burn and put off this big plume of toxic black smoke for at least another day or two…or longer….

    England 3 Mexico 2

This was no upset, England is a much better team, I predicted 3-1 even in the altitude.

But England had a lot of bad calls against it, including a dubious expulsion and a dubious penalty, and in the end they gave Mexico an unheard of at the WC 12 extra minutes of 11 against 10.

England now a serious contender, overcoming that kind of adversity builds confidence.

Norway vs Brazil was an upset but not a huge one.

Norway has a guy that has scored in the last 14 games for Norway, and scored 62 goals in the last 54 games for Norway, an almost impossible average to achieve.

    Norway NEVER lost to Brazil.

Brazil was not playing well, they beat Japan on the last second with a lucky goal.

That is why Brazil was only given a 6% chance of winning the cup and only 50% chance of beating Norway on Polymarket.
