Paxton up 1 in Texas

According to the University of Texas. But keep in mind their prior poll from April claimed an 8 point Talarico lead, 34 42, with a huge number undecided. But the new poll shows a huge swing in Paxton’s direction.

  2. Paxton has baggage but he will get Republican voters out. I don’t think that was the case with Cornyn. It will be closer than you’d like but I think Paxton prevails by 3 to 4 pts in November. The nut case has too many whacko statements on record that just won’t fly in Texas.

I don’t think it will be even that close. I would not be surprised by a 6 to 9 point win for Paxton. Its not just that Talarico is a fruitcake with policy positions that don’t resonate with Texas (anti-gun, open border, limit beef consumption), unlike Paxton who immediately got Cornyn’s endorsement, Talarico has Jasmine Crockett playing the sore loser who refused to speak on behalf of Talarico when invited to do so.

  5. Startling epiphany this morning…

I told you I often watch the Facebook videos if idiot people being pulled over by police for speeding, running a red light or whatever relatively small infraction.

NORMALLY, a person would get a warning or maybe a ticket they would have to pay and be on their way.

But way too often the driver refuses to cooperate, had no vid drivers license, no insurance. Then they refuse to get out of the car. Then they get dragged out of the car. Then they fight, hit and bite police Then they get pepper sprayed, tased, thrown to ground and cuffed. Then they struggle more and yell all sorts of obscenities when police say the car will be towed since it has no tag and insurance. Then the perp fights more with police when he sees the police going into his venue “(I do not give per.ission foe you to search, you don’t have a search warrant, etc.”). And ignore the police saying that by law, when a car is towed they have to inve tory everything inside the car so tow company cannot steal any of the drivers possessions. Of course illegal drugs and guns are then found…

Then the driver goes more berserk and even while in handcuffs spits, bites, refuses to get into cruiser

Then the perp claims violation of every constitutional amendment from 1 to 100 and scream police brutality and calls police Nazis, racists and all sorts of vile ba.es and threatens to kill then and all their family.

And claim they are being arrested for no reason at all..

THE EPIPHANY I HAD IS THAT THIS IS EXACTLY HOW BATSH!T crazy liberals act on the political realm.

    1. Commit a violation of the law
    2. Argue against the most certain facts that they did not commit a violation of the law when obviously they did
    3. Say this law should not apply to them because they are Black, or in a hurry or had a bad day, or are pregnant, or have asthma or some other medical condition, etc.
    4. Refuse to accept lawful commands by police
    5. Get very loud and vile
    6. Use violence against law enforcement officers doing their job and enforcing theh law.

As the office approached my vehicle I put both of my hands on the steering while. He asked why I was pulled over. I said yep. Then after being asked to produce the registration I calmly told him that I was taking off my seat belt and reaching for the glove box for the paperwork. Was given just a warning and have a ‘nice day’ statement.

Just do the right thing and being respectful to people, especially those authority, can go a long way.

  15. The DSA (Democratic Socialist party of America) seems to be winning more elections recently – mayors, city councils etc. This trend is disturbing to me, something that is part and parcel to the greater number of people turning to socialism and Marxism, rather than freedom and self determination.

“Earlier this month, the Democratic Socialists of America adopted a platform that calls for things like: scrapping the U.S. Senate and the Department of War, granting amnesty for all illegal immigrants, and “replac[ing] the President and Supreme Court with an executive and judiciary chosen by and subordinate to Congress.”

As the City Journal notes, “As more and more DSA members take power, the group they belong to keeps getting more radical—a tension they will inevitably have to resolve.” A separate City Journal articlepoints out the party’s “emerging militant network.”

Republicans ignore these developments at their own peril, since they can’t fight something – even if that something is as toxic as socialism – with nothing. And dismissing it as “junk food of modern American politics,” as GOP strategist Luke Ball told Fox News recently, isn’t going to cut it.”

  21. Only encounters with regular police that I have had during the past 15 years is when I’m collecting rocks along the highway. They were always friendly and just needed to see an ID, make sure I had a orange vest on and know what I was up to. Being an old gray-haired man might have been helpful.

Someone do a welfare check on Janzam, Tina and Chicon…

“Power blackouts are now being reported in Russian-occupied Crimea in addition to fuel shortages, as Ukraine intensifies efforts to isolate the region annexed by Moscow in 2014.

“There’s petrol at the filling station, but they’re not selling it,” complained one local resident who has started using his bicycle to avoid going by car unless absolutely necessary. “Apparently, it was delivered during the night, and during the day they were supposed to start selling it as usual, but after Aksyonov’s decree they shut everything down.”

Fuel in Crimea is now reserved mostly for government services, after Russian-installed leader Sergei Aksyonov announced on Sunday that all sales at petrol stations were suspended.”

If you want to be a big star soccer player making millions, you should be willing to take a small chance on being fried by a lightning bolt, considering you are probably more likely to be killed in a bus accident on the way to the stadium.

Same for the fans. If you are too much of a sissy to sit through a thunderstorm, maybe you should stay home and watch it on TV.

–college days, on a panty raid one night he was in front of a crowd of several hundred running toward one of the girls dorms. The local police chief got out of his cruiser and leveled a shotgun at the crowd and Retlaw did a 180 a f hightailed it back through the other guys.

–rolling stop at stop sign, and got a warning

–pulled over for having a burned out license plate light. Got out to see and it was working fine. Officer says his fault, have a nice day

–when traveling back to WV from NJ late one night he and a buddy spotted at a police barracks and asked if they had anyplace inside where they could lie down a direct. Officers said to pull into the parking lot and nap for a while.

P.S. if his kess guarded moments, he let it slip that in his 9th semester at college and the next year or so he did drive while inebriated. He Said that if he had recieved a 30 day sentence for every time he drove after he had been driving in those several foolish years, he would still be in jail. Nut he straightened himself out.

  35. The Iranian deal is a bad deal but we are where we are. Nothing Trump can do about it much with the midterms coming up. Any military action he decided to take would drive up oil prices. That would be a killer in November. Iranians know this and so does Trump.

Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and that is what Trump will have to do. Iran knows Trump is between a rock and a hard place. They won’t agree to any meaningful end to their nuclear program. They don’t have to. The blockade of Iranian ports is gone so there went that leverage. As I stated, military action is off the table because they know Trump won’t do that (spike in oil plus he’s threatened that a dozen times and never followed through). That is effectively off the table then.

I’d say the best option for Trump is to just not agree to anything before the election. Don’t sign anything that results in just a worthless Iranian promise not to obtain a nuclear weapon. BTW, if he has agreed to lift the sanctions we now have even less leverage than we had before the war. Does anyone know if the sanctions have already been lifted or do the sanctions only lift if there is a signed final agreement? If they are already lifted and the sanction money is flowing to Iran already we are f*cked.

It was funny that she described the Court as as a high school lunchroom with 3 cliques. The lonely liberal girls. The Dungeons and Dragons nerds (who get tied down in the rule book). The very difficult to predict and prone to odd thoughts (the Magic the Gathering Club).
